I visited the meat restaurant Yama-san in Karasuma, Kyoto for the first time! I had been wanting to go there for a long time, but they were not accepting new customers. However, about 3-4 months ago, I checked their website and saw that they were accepting new reservations, so I immediately made a reservation! But when I asked the owner when I arrived, he said they were no longer accepting new customers for reservations. Phew, I can make a reservation next time! I'm so happy!!! The restaurant is located down south from Hankyu Karasuma Station, and if you walk there, you'll find it at the end of a narrow street. Honestly, you wouldn't be able to find the location on your first visit! My friend also really wanted to go, so we went together. The menu only offers one course meal, and I don't know the price or details! So, I checked the website and reviews in advance to get an idea of what to expect! I made a reservation through Instagram, so they asked me in advance about any food preferences I had. The course included winter melon soup, raw beef yukhoe, meat noodles, tail dumplings, fucoidan steak with wagyu broth sauce, kimchi, three types of beef tongue to compare, salad, katsu sandwich, recommended meat cuts platter, curry for the finish, cold noodles for the finish, and dessert. The course was very generous in portion size! Even though we went on an empty stomach, we were already stuffed! For the finish, you can choose between curry and cold noodles. If you want both, you can order both! You can also choose the size - large, medium, or small. Of course, I chose both sizes! But in the end, I still wanted more and ordered another serving of curry...haha. It was so delicious. Everything was exquisite. I quickly understood why it's so difficult to make a reservation there! The owner was very friendly and we had a great conversation, making the dining experience even more enjoyable!! It seems like the menu changes with the seasons, so I plan to go back in winter! Thank you for the delicious meal! ♫
