A Taiwanese restaurant in Nakano. The menu mainly consists of light snacks such as lu rou fan and pork belly burgers. After much deliberation, I decided on the pork belly burger and Taiwanese scallion pancake with egg. The pork belly burger was small but delicious. And I absolutely loved the scallion pancake! The seasoning was just right. I shared it with someone, but I could easily eat two by myself. They also had scallion pancakes with egg and lu rou, as well as egg and bacon cheese, so I want to try all the varieties. The menu had a lot of tempting options, so I definitely want to come back again. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Today, I visited my local grave, cleaned it, and then traveled to Tokyo to greet relatives. It was lunchtime and I was on the Sobu Line, so I decided to get off at Nakano. I had some time to spare, so I explored the area and came across this restaurant. I felt like trying their "Lurou Fan" (Taiwanese minced pork over rice) right away. The interior was cozy with a small counter. I sat down at the counter, checked the menu again, and ordered the large size of "Lurou Fan." There were drawers under the counter with chopsticks, spoons, and paper napkins neatly stored. The dish arrived with plenty of meat in the bowl, along with pickled radish, boiled egg, and green onions. The flavor was quite mild, perhaps tailored to suit Japanese tastes. It was quite delicious. Thank you for the meal.

At the north end of Nakano Station North Exit, there is a restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Taiwanese burgers, rare in Japan, as well as noodles, braised pork rice, and Tianxin. All the staff are from Taiwan. I ordered small sizes of noodles and braised pork rice. Noodles are Taiwanese-style noodles cooked in thick soup. The texture of the noodles is almost non-existent, but the Asian flavor is enjoyable with cilantro, bonito broth, garlic chips, and extremely spicy chopped chili mixed in. Braised pork rice needs no explanation, but the tender pork and light pickled vegetables are well-balanced, and the aroma of star anise is addictive. Despite the price being in the 500 yen range, the portion size of the small size is like a half-rice bowl commonly seen in ramen shops, making it difficult to eat. It was delicious to have Taiwanese cuisine after a long time. Thank you for the meal.

Taiwanese restaurants surprisingly offer takeout options. The seasoning is not as sweet as Japanese braised pork, making it perfect for a delicious lunchtime meal. They also offer the option to exclude ingredients with unique scents, which is a very helpful service for those with preferences.

I've recently become addicted to Fukutsumi, located about a 6-minute walk from Nakano Station. This place offers casual Taiwanese cuisine that you can enjoy as a hearty lunch, a quick snack, or even for takeout. It's surprisingly convenient and easy to use.

I visited the noodle shop "麺線" three times in April. The bonito dashi in the soup gives it a rich flavor and good thickness. The offal is fresh and has no unpleasant smell. The braised pork rice has a strong star anise flavor, and the meat juices soak into the rice, giving you the same feeling as eating it in Taiwan. A wonderful restaurant that truly captures the essence of Taiwan.

I was curious about the Taiwan Burger, but after looking at the menu, I decided to go with the Beef Noodle and Lu Rou Fan set instead. The Lu Rou Fan had a mild flavor and was easy to eat, and the meat on top had a satisfying size. The beef in the Beef Noodle was tender and spicy, and very delicious. I visited around 11:30 and didn't have to wait in line. I would like to try the Taiwan Burger and other menu items next time.

I visited the restaurant after 12 o'clock. There were empty seats at the counter, so I was able to enter smoothly. They also offered takeout sales at the storefront, but I chose to eat in. You can choose the size for individual items, and I ordered the large size of the pork bowl. It was served in about 5 minutes. The meat was plentiful, well-seasoned, and easy to eat. The portion was also satisfying, so I would definitely like to visit this place again. In this day and age, getting a delicious and filling lunch for 700 yen is quite cost-effective. The interior of the restaurant is also clean, making it easy for even one person to enter.

This is a pretty good restaurant. The portion of the sticky rice is a little small, but the mantou with meat filling is very delicious. The meat is very appetizing but not greasy! I am satisfied! The dessert is average. The restaurant is located in a relatively quiet area, and the staff are Taiwanese, giving it an authentic feel.

Ordered the Braised Pork Belly Burger and the Noodle Soup B set. The noodles were supposed to be large size but it was more like a regular size. If you have a big appetite, I recommend getting the extra large size. The noodles had black vinegar on them, so if you're not a fan, you might want to let them know. The taste was a bit stronger than the authentic flavor but still delicious. Surprisingly, the Braised Pork Belly Burger was very satisfying with a great taste. The steamed bun was soft and the pork belly wasn't too greasy. The pickled mustard greens added a nice touch. However, I wouldn't pay the standalone price of 600 yen for it. 300-400 yen would be more reasonable. Overall, it was a satisfying meal when considering the set price. The customers and staff were mostly of Chinese descent.

I was walking around Nakano and came across a shop about 3 minutes from Nakano Station. I was curious about their Taiwanese burger so I decided to try it for the first time. It had a sweet flavor similar to braised pork bun. It was delicious and I would definitely visit again if I have the chance.

When I passed by around noon, there was a line of about 10 people. But when I went at around 7 pm, I was able to sit right away. Since I was a little hungry, I ordered the Lu Rou Fan (minced pork rice) small for 380 yen and the pork meatball and daikon soup small for 380 yen. Both dishes came in rice bowls. Normally, it might not be enough, but today I had a slight hunger so it was just right. The Lu Rou Fan had flavorful meat that went well with the rice. The pickled vegetables added a nice accent. The egg made the taste milder. The pork meatball and daikon soup had a rich flavor from the daikon, and it was very delicious. The meatballs were big and satisfying to eat. If it's a regular appetite, I think ordering the large size would be better.

Since it was eligible for PayPay, I decided to give it a try. I wanted to try a little bit of everything, so I ordered two small dishes. It was a bit warmer today despite the recent cold weather, so I couldn't resist getting a beer as well. The braised pork rice had very little fat and was light and refreshing. The noodle soup was interesting because I don't usually eat it, but the flavor was a bit monotonous, so the portion size was probably just right. There were toppings like garlic, vinegar, and chili peppers, so you could try changing the flavor. The staff spoke Chinese, and so did some of the customers, so I thought the restaurant might be a bit of an imitation Taiwanese cuisine, but it seems to be the real deal. They also had some menu items that I would want to try if I were really hungry, and I was intrigued by drinks with grass jelly in them!

A small Taiwanese restaurant located in a narrow alley next to Nakano Broadway, near Waseda Street. They specialize in light meals, with their recommended dish being the braised pork belly burger. I decided to stop by for a break while out for a walk, thinking they also have desserts. When I arrived around 3 pm on a Sunday, the place was packed with both dine-in and take-out customers. After a short wait, I was seated at the counter, where there were two small tables for two. The owner, who I assume is Taiwanese, spoke fluent Japanese. About half of the customers seemed to be of Chinese descent, which raised my expectations a bit.
I ordered the "Taiwanese Scallion Pancake with Braised Pork Belly (¥580)" and my companion ordered the "Tofu Pudding with Three Flavors (¥520)." The tofu pudding arrived in about 8 minutes, while the scallion pancake took about 15 minutes. The scallion pancake had a chewy texture with plenty of braised pork belly on top. The pancake was a savory dish with scallions, and the surface was crispy. The braised pork belly had a subtle star anise flavor with a light seasoning, making it simple yet flavorful. It also contained egg, similar to okonomiyaki, giving it a substantial feel. It had a mild taste, so I added a bit of black vinegar from the table to adjust the flavor.
The tofu pudding was supposed to have mung beans, tapioca, and red beans, but they were out of stock, so it came with grass jelly instead. The smooth tofu was served with a refreshing syrup base with a hint of sweetness from black honey. A highlight was the frozen sugar water ice floating on top. It had a gentle flavor and was simply delicious. The only downside was that both the tapioca and grass jelly had the same black honey base, so there wasn't much variation. It seemed to be tailored for Japanese tastes, as it was surprisingly light and easy to eat. I'm curious about other Taiwanese dishes like noodles and pork blood with sticky rice that I haven't tried before.

There were no waiting customers at around 1 pm on a regular day. I ordered a small portion of Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice) for 350 yen and a small portion of Mian Xian (rice noodles) for 350 yen. The portion size was small, but it was nice to be able to enjoy various flavors easily. The Lu Rou Fan tasted as expected, which was comforting. Some places can be too strong with the star anise flavor or too sweet, but this one was just right. The Mian Xian had a thick, flavorful soup with soy sauce, oil, and herbs. It wasn't too strong or too light, but had a slightly salty taste. The majority of customers in the restaurant were speaking Chinese, giving it an authentic feel. It was a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. I look forward to trying the Taiwanese burger next time.

The appearance is light and fast food-like, but the taste is authentic. About half of the customers seem to be from Chinese-speaking countries, as Chinese can be heard. This time, I ordered Set A. The pork belly burger, which seems to be a specialty, met my expectations. The braised pork rice also had a delicious sauce, passing the test. Both were not surprising, but what surprisingly tasted delicious was the corn soup. It had a good broth, sweet corn, and a unique recipe. I want to try the meat set meal and scallion pancake next time, so I will definitely revisit.

I used to stop by this shop on my way home and enjoy their delicious food before the pandemic hit. However, with my late return home due to the current situation, I couldn't eat there anymore, which was disappointing. Recently, they started serving "beef noodles," and I knew I had to try it. It was the right choice. The rich, simmered soup with a spicy kick from the chili oil was so addictive that I could drink it all up. The simmered beef tendons were incredibly tender and just melted in my mouth. As I'm getting older and need softer textures, the juicy, simmered meat was easy to eat. The flat noodles soaked up the soup generously, and the meaty aroma and spicy flavor of the spices coated my mouth with a satisfying chewiness. Adding garlic chips at the end provided a crispy flavor change for more enjoyment. Delicious! Of course, I also had their classic "steamed buns." The tender meat and slightly sweet, soft skin, complemented by peanuts, were simply delicious. I wish they would extend their business hours a bit so I could enjoy this meal after work regularly.

I didn't have much for lunch, so I got hungry and came for a snack! I was tempted by the noodles, but since the pork belly burger was listed as the most popular, I chose that one. Whenever I see these kinds of visually appealing burgers in department stores, I always feel like eating them... The eight-spice flavor is strong and you can really taste the Taiwanese influence! It may be small, but it's quite filling!

(2021/11 Daytime Visit) I ordered the following:
- Braised Pork Belly Burger [500 yen]
- Pork Dumpling Soup (Small) [350 yen]
[Braised Pork Belly Burger]
The soft bun sticks to your teeth a bit, but it's tasty. The braised pork belly has a hint of star anise aroma. Combined with the scent of cilantro, it's delicious.
[Pork Dumpling Soup]
Lightly salted and delicious. The pork dumplings are firm and have a nice bounce to them.
