I tried a cold grilled pork dish at a different restaurant that I don't usually see. It was my first time trying it and it was very delicious with a unique texture and flavor. Despite the lack of air conditioning and the hot weather, I enjoyed the affordable drinks as well. I definitely want to go back again.

Second visit. Towards the end of the Saturday walk, it seemed like the sunlight had passed. Due to the ongoing dry spell, the chuhai (highball) tasted oddly delicious, quenching my thirst like water and flowing down smoothly, reminiscent of the taste of midsummer (lol). Even at reliable chain stores, it's important not to let your guard down. I'll stick to three chuhais. How should we end this? The miso was a bit heavy, so let's reconsider in Shinjuku. On a certain Saturday, I remembered that there are many deep red lantern-style izakayas in the Akihabara Showa Street area and decided to visit. I arrived around 5:30 pm and the place was already full. It had been a while since I had been to a crowded and lively izakaya like this after the end of the COVID-19 period. We ordered various drinks and grilled skewers. The spicy kimchi, chilled liver, and grilled skewers such as harami and tongue were all very delicious. And the prices were incredibly cheap. However, I must admit that the service was quite slow. It was very busy with non-stop orders, so I understand the difficulty they faced. The order of dishes was mixed up, and there were many instances of orders being forgotten, which was disappointing. But the drinks were served quickly. In this lively atmosphere, I just had to enjoy the drinks. In the end, I couldn't read the detailed bill, and there might have been items missing from our order. It was a restaurant full of human warmth, for better or for worse. I think it's perfect for enjoying drinks as the main focus and soaking in the atmosphere of the red lanterns.

From 19:00, there was a farewell party... This month, I received perfect attendance on weekdays... Drinking alcohol has become part of the job... I visited "Yakiton Yonmaya Akihabara" during the first half of March on a weekday night. I arrived a bit early for my meeting with friends, so I decided to stop by this restaurant to pass the time. The restaurant is located in Chiyoda-ku, Kanda Sakumacho, Tokyo. It has a cozy atmosphere with seating for 40 people, including counter seats, table seats, tatami seats, and terrace seats. I ordered a beer to start, followed by three skewers of liver, thigh meat, and head meat. The liver was cooked perfectly and tender, the thigh meat had delicious sauce, and the head meat had a good chewy texture. For the second round, I had a lemon sour cocktail, simmered tofu with offal, and salted liver skewer. The food was delicious and affordable, costing me less than 2,000 yen. Overall, it was a great experience dining at this authentic yakitori restaurant.

The Yonemunya Group, which is relatively located on the west side of Tokyo, has a shop in Akihabara as well. I visited with a friend and the place was quite lively around 8 pm on a holiday. We managed to snag a seat at one of the two raised tatami seating areas that had just become available. The restaurant had large tables for banquets, as well as regular tables and a counter. The menu mainly consisted of grilled skewers, along with simmered dishes, raw meat, pickles, and other items. There were also additional items listed on a board menu. The drink selection was relatively standard, with Highball and Kinmiya offered separately, which was interesting. Most of the staff were foreigners, providing casual service that seemed fitting for the lively atmosphere. We ordered bottled beer and patiently waited for our skewers. Since there was no complimentary appetizer, we snacked on kimchi until our food arrived all at once. We tried various skewers like pork cheek, heart, and tongue, all seasoned with just the right amount of salt. The meat was firm but not tough, offering a satisfying bite. The boiled liver sashimi was fresh and melted in the mouth, complemented by the flavor of garlic. Pairing these dishes with sour drinks and lighter options like chicken skin with ponzu sauce or yam was enjoyable. The slightly sweet Yonemunya original highball was delicious. With locations across various areas, the restaurant offers a wide selection of skewers and drinks at reasonable prices. However, the compact seating and somewhat casual service may make it a bit challenging to relax, so it's recommended to visit during less crowded times.

I love Yonmaya. Akihabara has a normal Yonmaya, but I also like the beef Yonmaya. When I go drinking alone, I always order the cold three-item platter, daikon with vinegar and soy sauce, boiled egg, and pig's feet! Other favorite dishes include grilled rice balls (served with soup, perfect for the end of the meal), Tochio, and potatoes. The pig's feet are so tender and well-cooked that you can hardly tell they are pig's feet. I love the dipping sauce and I really want to take the pig's feet home. For drinks, I only have Makgeolli in the second half. Occasionally, I have plum wine. The lemon sour here is the sour type. The grapefruit is sweet, so it's good.

After finishing up my business in Akihabara on Saturday, I stopped by for a lunch drink. I arrived right at the opening time at 1 PM. It's rare to find Yonmaya, which is usually concentrated on the west side of the city, in Akihabara. ★Sapporo Black Label bottled beer. The glass wasn't chilled. ★Edamame a generous portion for one person. Comes with a dish for the shells. ★Liver with sesame salt. The liver is tender and the salt sauce is delicious. The roughly chopped green onions add a nice touch. ★Pork cheek with good elasticity. The salt seasoning is just right. ★Beef tongue with a good chewy texture. Cooked well with a nice flavor. ★Chicken thigh meat mixed with sauce. It's decent. ★Tsukune also with sauce. No cartilage texture. ★Sake Aichi's sake "Takinotsukasa" served hot. Slightly dry. Feels like a sake for evening drinking. The restaurant quickly filled up with customers, mostly of Asian descent, and the staff were running around like crazy. That's all for now. Thank you.

Black label bottle 550 yen and simmered motsu 385 yen. Unfortunately, the simmered dish is not piping hot, but still tasty. The green onions are not very delicious this season, so I'd like them to be cooked thoroughly, but it seems impossible at this temperature. After that, plum wine 350 yen, liver with sesame salt 110 yen, and asparagus 110 yen were ordered. Unfortunately, my smartphone camera malfunctioned at this point, and I couldn't take any more photos. End of filming = end of review. End of filming = not end of drinking, but end of ordering.

I visited this restaurant at 9:30 pm as my second stop of the night. The atmosphere was just right, not too noisy. I ordered a cover charge (110 yen), simmered rice (330 yen), simmered tofu (385 yen), and 16 skewers (110 yen each). I mainly ordered skewers. The food started to be served in about 5 minutes. Overall, everything was delicious. Personally, I liked the simmered rice with well-cooked pork in it. The skewers were all good, especially the liver with sesame salt. It's a great place to enjoy delicious skewers at a reasonable price, so I would like to come back again.

I visited the same store after a long time, as I had some business to attend to in Akihabara during the daytime on my day off and decided to have a light drink. When I arrived, there was only one other group of customers, and the atmosphere was quite lonely. I ordered a bottle of beer (550 yen) and the following snacks: "Simmered tripe (385 yen)" - it was not particularly memorable, just average, and felt a bit overpriced for the portion size. "Horse sashimi (480 yen)" - it was a regular lean cut, nothing special in terms of taste. "Grilled pork skewers (each 1 piece 110 yen)" - I ordered liver with sesame salt, tongue, skirt meat, heart, and chin. The liver with sesame salt is probably their specialty and quite good, but it had a slight odor and the grilling was not perfect. The tongue, skirt meat, and chin were delicious, but the heart had a noticeable odor. "Pickled nagaimo (220 yen)" - probably a commercial product, but it was excellent as a side dish. By the way, I ordered more of it (laughs). In addition to these snacks, I had 3 green tea highballs (385 yen each). When I visited a few years ago, I remember that the grilled pork skewers were all delicious, and the other dishes were also cost-effective. However, this time, I felt that the simmered tripe was overpriced for the portion size, and the grilled pork skewers seemed to have lost some of their flavor compared to a few years ago. Also, I believe all the staff were foreigners, especially those in the kitchen who were talking loudly the whole time, which didn't quite match the atmosphere of the restaurant. Since it was quite empty, their voices echoed throughout the restaurant, making it quite noticeable and leaving a negative impression. As a result, only 2-3 more customers came in after that. In any case, if you plan to visit the same store, I would recommend sticking to the grilled pork skewers.

Tonight, I challenged Yonmaya again, which was full last time and I couldn't use it. I was prepared to even pick out a single customer to get in if it was full again. I ordered a bottle of beer for 550 yen, specifying Sapporo, and skewers including heart, pork cheek, and potato butter for 110 yen each. Since it seemed like it would take some time, I also ordered daikon vinegar soy sauce for 110 yen and a seating fee of 110 yen. The daikon was not pickled as I expected, but thinly sliced raw with vinegar soy sauce and pickled ginger, which was a perfect accompaniment to the grilled pork. The grilled pork was of a reliable quality, with perfect grilling and seasoning, showing a thorough understanding of grilled pork. I should have ordered the potato butter separately. The melted butter almost dripped off the pork cheek. Potato butter has been my recent favorite, so I always want to order it, but ordering one almost ruins the experience. It was nice that they serve it with the skewers. As my drinks and snacks were running out, I added a plum wine soda for 385 yen and chin, and beef tongue each for 110 yen. The chin was a bit tough, but not too tough to chew, with a juicy umami flavor and a nice harmony with the garlic sprouts in between. The beef tongue, on the other hand, was surprisingly tender, with a soft texture that didn't feel like tongue at all. As my drinks were running out again, I added a green tea highball for 385 yen and sesame salt liver for 110 yen. The liver was cooked medium with plenty of green onions and a generous amount of sesame oil. It was a fitting dish to end the meal. I enjoyed the food and drinks, and the bill came to a satisfying 2,200 yen. Yonmaya never disappoints.

I always go back to this izakaya nearby! The skewers are delicious and cheap, most of them are only 100 yen each! Highly recommend the green onion and liver skewer! People come here just for that. The boiled egg is tasty, and the simmered offal has a consistent flavor. The harami sashimi is a bit salty but goes well with alcohol. Other skewers are also delicious, and the vegetables are plentiful! The asparagus was delicious! You can drink well and get full for around 3,000 yen.

A few minutes' walk from Akihabara Station. It's located just across the big road behind Yodobashi Camera. This is a restaurant specializing in motsuyaki and yakitori. On this day, after eating sukiyaki in Suehirocho, we were looking for somewhere else to go, and a long-haired public servant kindly guided us here. The place looks like a regular izakaya. It's surrounded by thick vinyl curtains. Inside, there are regular tables. Drinking inside those thick vinyl curtains can be cold. I'm not a big fan of them. So we chose to sit at a normal table in the back. There was also a dirty-looking sunken tatami area in the very back. The menu mainly consists of pork offal and grilled skewers, and they are very cheap. Each skewer was around 100 yen. There were various types of pork offal, and the liver with sesame oil was quite delicious. The harami and kashira were also good. Since it was our second stop, we didn't order too much from the menu, but the food was decently tasty and affordable. If you can overlook the narrow seating, it's a cost-effective izakaya where you can enjoy good food. I wanted to try the tsukune, but I only ordered three skewers, so I didn't get to try it. I should have ordered more. At the counter, there was a shy couple being very affectionate.
