The meat was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating with chopsticks. I ordered 180g of meat cooked to medium rare. For an additional fee, the meal came with salad, miso soup, and rice (which you can choose the size of). Personally, the salad and miso soup were nothing special, so I should have added more meat or rice instead. The rice alone costs 200 yen, but with miso soup and salad, it costs 350 yen. You can choose from three sizes for the meat. See other reviews for their menu. The medium rare was quite rare, with a rawness that was really delicious - it was a bit salty, but it paired perfectly with the rice, creating a happy moment as I savored the meat and rice together. This restaurant is only in Minami-Ikebukuro in Kanto region. I definitely want to go back again. Thank you for the meal.

It was my first time there, but ordering was straightforward following the instructions on "how to order" placed in front of me. I arrived on a Saturday at 19:10 and finally got seated at 20:00. The restaurant is located in the underground floor of the Higashi-dori Shotengai in Ikebukuro's east exit. It was crowded everywhere on a Saturday, and I had to wait for almost an hour to finally get in. The clientele was mostly young people. The menu mainly focuses on hamburgers, with Gyu-tei's original sauce being the only option. You can choose the size, doneness, and rice portion, with a variety of toppings available. What I ordered:
- Hamburg 230g for 1800 yen
- Gyu-tei set for 350 yen (mini salad, rice, soup)
- Karaage (as a topping) for 100 yen
The hamburger was beautifully round and flat. It was so tender that it easily crumbled with chopsticks. I ordered it medium, but it was quite rare inside. I was a bit worried that it wasn't cooked through, but I was too hungry to care. Despite the rareness, it wasn't too fatty. When compared to Miyazaki-tei, the prices are similar, but the taste is definitely better at Miyazaki-tei. However, Gyu-tei offers a variety of toppings and extreme doneness options that Miyazaki-tei doesn't have, making it a different dining experience. Both places are a bit difficult to get into, with Gyu-tei often having long queues and Miyazaki-tei sometimes not being open.
