I stopped by a standing bar just a 1-minute walk from Akihabara Station after work. I ordered the skewer set I had checked out in advance, a Hoppy set, and the recommended chicken and vegetable skewers. The Hoppy drink was served with ice and poured nicely, which was satisfying. The recommended chicken and vegetable skewers were soft, fresh, and truly delicious. When the freshly grilled skewers arrived, I was surprised again. The half-boiled quail eggs were perfectly cooked, rich, and the premium chicken liver was incredibly tender and perfectly grilled. The other skewers were also delicious without a doubt. The staff were cheerful, friendly, and made my solo dining experience enjoyable.

I visited for the first time after work for a casual drink in July 2023. Even though it was still before sunset, the place was already full, so I was seated at an outdoor barrel table. I started with a draft beer. It was nice to be able to drink while it was still bright outside. I tried the premium liver, and the rare liver melted in my mouth and was delicious.

After leaving an event at the Ariake Arena around 3 pm, my friend took me to a standing izakaya called "Kushigin" because it was still early. The place is located near Akihabara Station. As we approached the intersection where the restaurant was visible, we could see that it was already bustling with many customers. My friend seemed to be a regular, as the staff quickly found us a table and took our drink orders. Along with the drinks, we ordered some dishes which included: - Chicken Skin with Ponzu Sauce: Thinly sliced boiled chicken skin mixed with ponzu sauce, offering a refreshing aroma and a perfect balance of acidity. - Shingen Chicken and Wasabi: Kombu-marinated chicken tenderloin with a sticky texture, served with homemade garlic soy sauce or wasabi soy sauce. - Premium Chicken Liver: Fresh chicken liver cooked to perfection, lightly seasoned with salt, tender and without any unpleasant odor. - Hiramasa (Today's Recommended Fresh Fish): A surprising addition for a yakitori place, but the staff recommended it and it turned out to be delicious. - Negima (Chicken Thigh with Green Onion): Skewered chicken thigh pieces with small cuts throughout, showcasing the skillful cooking of the chicken. - Potato Salad with Cod Roe (+80 yen): Freshly made warm potato salad with a hint of spiciness from cod roe, perfect as a drinking snack. - Warm Vinegared Beef Tendon with Wagyu Beef: Wagyu beef tendon marinated in vinegar, offering a refreshing taste despite being a fatty cut. - Green Onion Salted Liver: Liver skewers served in pairs, with the liver cooked to perfection and seasoned with sesame oil and chopped green onions. For drinks, we had: - Kushigin Highball: A highball with yuzu, honey, ginger, and lime, refreshing and fragrant. - Awamori Coffee Mix: Awamori mixed with iced coffee, retaining the unique flavor of awamori with a hint of coffee bitterness. - Yamazaki Highball: A smooth highball with a gentle mouthfeel, a great value for the price. - Jasmine Tea Highball: A green tea highball with a strong jasmine aroma, brewed from jasmine tea leaves, offering a rich and delicious taste. Since it was a standing bar, we felt a bit guilty for staying for two hours, as the turnover of customers is quick. We promised to return for some daytime drinking since they open at 3 pm.

Today, I wandered around Akihabara and visited this shop for the second round. I had warm vinegar motsu (innards) with wagyu beef, premium liver, and heart, along with four chu-hi drinks. I originally planned to have just a couple of drinks here before heading home, but with the recommendation from the staff and my tipsiness, I ended up having double the amount. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

When I took a closer look, it had been a year since my last visit. It had been a while. I visited after a long time around 3 pm, but the counter was full at this popular restaurant. Unfortunately, the butcher shop was closed for the May holidays, so my favorite liver dish was not available. It couldn't be helped. Therefore, I switched my focus to sashimi, and the seared sashimi was delicious. They not only offer skewers but also have a creative touch with sashimi and other small dishes, showing their cooking skills and taste. The usual tomato-wrapped meat rolls and chicken skin were all of high quality. I had four refills of Hoppy Plus medium, and the next day was quite tough.

No, I was seriously surprised. I just walked in without any expectations, and I usually don't look up places online in advance. But this place was something else. The food was amazing, like 100 points good, and the prices were cheap for the location (great value for money). The service was also top-notch, with no annoying staff constantly bothering you. They would approach you at just the right time when your glass was empty. And when you talked to them, they would respond with skill. There were three young girls in the kitchen, and the front staff was a dummy voice manager. It was a great marketing strategy, and everyone played their role perfectly. Personally, I recommend trying the semi-soft quail with chicken skin (tare sauce)! It's dangerously good, and you'll end up drinking too much. I'll definitely be going back!

When you come to Akihabara, you have to go back again. I found my favorite restaurant.

Starting in Akihabara, this standing bar is always crowded even early in the day! The energetic staff at the shop are great. With affordable drinks and large servings, you can drink without spending too much. They have seasonal skewers, and this time I tried the pork-wrapped shungiku (edible chrysanthemum). I have a lot growing at home, so I might try making it myself. They also offer different types of drinks like corn tea and koucha, so you can enjoy a variety of options. However, the drinks are strong so you might get a little tipsy (laughs).

Arrived at 5:30 PM on Monday and the restaurant was almost full, but we managed to get a table outside. It was a race against time until the first round, with only 15 minutes to spare. We ordered the Mega Highball and Highball, along with the premium liver. The liver was delicious as usual. We will definitely use this place for our pre-drinks next year too! Thank you for the meal!

Started drinking early in Akihabara ▶️ Located right near Akihabara Station Electric Town exit. It's a standing bar with a street-front style. The yakitori and kushiage are incredibly delicious. Fresh, of course. The meat is tender and delicious without any tough parts. It's irresistible ✨ In addition, the side dishes are fresh and tasty. For snacks, they have luxurious negitoro and thick tofu. The combination of yakitori, kushiage, and a mega-sized lemon sour is perfect. I went with drinking buddies, but I think it's also great for solo drinking!! Thank you for the meal. I want to go again ✨

I had plans to drink in Akihabara and went to Kushi Gin in front of the station. It was quite crowded. I ordered tsukune, sweet shrimp, and warm vinegar motsu. I was surprised to find out that the vinegar motsu was made with beef offal. It was delicious. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Counter seating where smoking is allowed for 1,000 to 2,000 yen. A drum can (recommended for up to 2 people due to limited space) located just across the street from the station caught my attention. It turned out to be a bustling standing bar that also serves yakitori! I visited early in the evening, and the regular customers, older gentlemen, were chatting happily, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The limited quantity chicken skin with ponzu sauce had a unique and addictive taste! The chewy texture was irresistible. The skewers had a satisfying crunch, and I enjoyed them. I stopped by to pass some time quickly, but I definitely want to visit this place again at a more leisurely pace. It's a welcoming spot, easy for solo diners to enter. Highly recommended!

Happy Hour is from 3 pm with many customers. The staff are speedy, friendly, and create a fun atmosphere. The draft beer is Suntory Malts. During Happy Hour, highballs are 210 yen. It's a fun time for adults, although children may not notice the enjoyment. The oxtail stew and fresh oysters were delicious. It's a place where you can enjoy yourself alone or with a group of about 4 people.

I went to this place about 2 years ago a few times, but then my work location changed. Recently, I visited Akihabara again after a long time. The quality of the food has improved. However, the customers are still loud. I wonder why. The way the staff recommend dishes is very skillful. The female staff members have strong eye contact and a good attitude. The food tasted much better than before. It's not a place I would visit regularly, but for someone who hasn't been to a standing bar before, it could leave a strong impression!

I visited a standing bar near Akihabara to have a quick drink, which I had visited a few years ago. It was a Saturday afternoon and the place was not crowded, so I decided to go in. However, I noticed that the prices had increased significantly since my last visit, no longer fitting the standing bar pricing. Nevertheless, since I was already inside, I decided to have a light drink and then leave. I ordered a "Hoppy set (450 yen)" and some snacks including the following: "Premium liver skewer (130 yen)", which had a slight unpleasant smell this time compared to my previous visit. "Green onion salt liver skewer (200 yen)" was a regular liver skewer with green onion salt on top, which helped reduce the smell. "Homemade sauce meatball skewer (270 yen)" was a bit pricey but very delicious, especially with the crunchy cartilage inside. "Deep-fried tofu with broth (450 yen)" was tasty with a gentle broth. I also had a "Hoppy refill (200 yen)". I noticed that the place was less crowded than before, and after researching, I found out that the prices had increased significantly compared to 2020, for example, the meatball skewer had gone up by 70 yen per skewer. Overall, the food was delicious, but the sudden price hike was a bit painful. The atmosphere of the place had also changed, so I don't think I will visit again.

While drinking corn tea highballs and eating pork-wrapped shungiku (chrysanthemum greens) at the counter, I had a casual chat with the manager and enjoyed the drinks. It's nice, isn't it? It's the end of the year. The place opens at 3 pm, but when I arrived around 3:30 pm, about 70% of the seats were already taken. By 5 pm, it was completely full. I also had daikon (radish) tempura and potato fries while ordering more drinks. I'm not sure about the price of the mega size, but it's efficient since I don't order it often. After drinking for four hours, the bill exceeded 5000 yen, but as long as you're having fun, it's all good.

The yakitori and other dishes were all delicious. I definitely want to go back to this amazing place! What I ordered was: - Fried ginkgo nuts: consistently delicious! I ended up ordering 2. - Chicken liver: just the right size. - Daikon radish fry: the daikon radish tempura, simmered once, was crispy and juicy, and delicious with the sansho pepper. - Potato fry: I couldn't resist. So delicious... Skewers: - Rare chicken liver: the texture is irresistible. The grilling is done very well! - Tomato wrap - Leek wrap: The vegetable wraps here are of high quality! - Quail eggs: the half-cooked eggs are incredibly delicious! - Chicken tenderloin: ordered with umeboshi shiso, chopped wasabi, and yuzu pepper. It was a great find as we visited on a whim. The interior had a counter and tables with a cozy atmosphere. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We started with a draft beer and ordered recommended skewers and dishes. The big mug of beer was so refreshing. It was delicious! They also allow smoking, which was a plus. The chicken hearts were particularly tasty. They also offer sake, with daily recommended selections. It was a great place with good recommendations. I had a wonderful time. I would definitely visit again when in Akihabara. Recharge with some energy early on and continue your adventure. Cheers!

The liver is seriously delicious! You must try it. Also, the yagen and myoga with yuzu pepper dressing. I never knew this divine combination before... it's so delicious. Quail skewers! You should definitely order these without hesitation! They are soft and juicy! Don't hesitate to devour them quickly! The meat-wrapped myoga was also delicious. I also tried the grilled rice ball, but it was so delicious that I forgot to take a picture!
