We went to Ueno as a family. We took the elevator straight to the 9th floor where there is a dining area, passing by the newly renovated Yoshiike building and Uniqlo. The view from the 9th floor was nice, with the Skytree visible in the distance. We didn't have to wait long before being seated. I ordered plate udon, while my family member mentioned they should have ordered fish instead. I thought about reminding them, but I believe it's best to eat what you like. The plate udon was hot and delicious, with plenty of seafood and meat in it. My family member seemed satisfied with their choice of plate udon. They also ordered the popular Hokkai rice dish made with salmon, which was processed in their own factory. I remembered seeing a variety of salmon displayed on shelves at Yoshiike before it was renovated, with King Salmon being the most impressive. The Hokkai rice dish came with a salad, but you could opt for no salad for an additional 80 yen. The miso soup was made with clams, and there was also yukari furikake provided. Mixing the flaked salmon into the rice, topping it with salmon roe, and enjoying the flavors was a delightful experience. The salmon's richness made me realize how precious it has become lately. The small but flavorful crab added a nice touch to the meal.

The view was magnificent and the service was very pleasant, but the fish was disappointing enough to break the image of "If you think of fish, think of Yoshiike." Other Niigata specialties like the Torio oil tofu were delicious. But I wish they could improve the sashimi since it's a shame.

Beach Seafood Bowl (extra large rice at no additional cost) is the most popular menu with salmon, ikura, crab, and scallops. It was seriously delicious. You choose the number of people and table or counter at the reception machine, then order and pay on a tablet after being seated. If you want to see the Skytree, table seating is recommended. If you're tired of the view, counter seating is better. We arrived just before 11 o'clock, but there were already dozens of people waiting, which was honestly surprising. If you're dining alone, you can get in on the first round. All the menu items are attractive and it's hard to decide, but you can't go wrong with any choice. The smoking area on the 8th floor is not available, so keep that in mind.

Located right next to Okachimachi Station, on the top floor of the seafood specialty store "Yoshiike," is a dining floor called "Yoshiike Shokudo" that connects three restaurants serving Japanese, Western, and sushi cuisine in one space. I visited during lunchtime on a holiday, where you wait outside the restaurant after checking in and wait for your number to be called. Despite the crowd, I was seated quickly as the restaurant has a large seating capacity. The interior has a casual atmosphere resembling a family restaurant, with slightly more spacious seating arrangements. The menu is extensive, ranging from seafood specialties of Yoshiike to Chinese and Western dishes. On this day, I chose the popular "Hokkai Meshi" (with salad) for 1,480 yen including tax, while my companion chose the "Nigiri Sushi" for 1,350 yen including tax. The scallops and crab in the Hokkai Meshi were delicious, and according to my companion, the sushi in the Nigiri Sushi was also very tasty. However, opinions may vary on whether the overall taste justifies the price. Since it is a seafood specialty store, I would opt for the sashimi set if I have the chance to visit again. I will continue to explore the shopping area downstairs as well! Thank you for the meal!

This shop is located in Ueno. I have been buying seafood at Yoshiike for a while, but it was my first time entering the dining area. I ordered the cheapest Tekkadon sushi bowl (1450 yen). The rice was quite delicious, but the tuna was not worth the price. I thought that for this price, there are many other delicious restaurants, so I should have ordered something else.

Visited a large restaurant of a company with a big fish store in front of Ueno station around 6:30 PM on Friday night as a typhoon approached. I ordered the mixed fry set meal for 1050 yen, which includes thick and large fried horse mackerel, flavorful croquette made with sweet potatoes, and delicious shrimp fry. The horse mackerel and croquette were especially tasty. Thank you for the meal.

Located in the JR Okachimachi Station front, on the 9th floor of the Yoshiike Building where Uniqlo is on the 1st floor, you will find Yoshiike Shokudo. They offer a wide variety of dishes such as sushi, soba noodles, seafood bowls, eel, and Chinese cuisine. I ordered the seafood bowl for 2800 yen. It was a luxurious seafood bowl with plump shrimp, crab, tuna, salmon roe, sea urchin, salmon, horse mackerel, yellowtail, squid, and scallops. They are open from 11 am to 10 pm, making it convenient to stop by easily near the station.

Yoshiike in Ueno. Located above the building with UNIQLO and GU, offering a great view. I have shopped at the underground Yoshiike store a few times, but this was my first time visiting the restaurant. The entire floor is Yoshiike restaurant, and it is spacious! It was a Saturday lunchtime when I visited. I got a numbered ticket and waited for my turn, which I'm used to. The wait didn't seem too long when I listened to the number of calls. After about 30 minutes, I was called to my table. I ordered the new Pacific saury set meal with Tochio fried dish (sakura shrimp), and a beer. The food arrived in about 15 minutes. The Pacific saury was a bit skinny but a decent size. It was great that I could enjoy this meal for around 1000 yen. The Tochio fried dish was also delicious. They offer a variety of side dishes, making it perfect for a lunch drink. With its spacious layout and quick turnover, this place is a good option when in need. Thank you for the meal.

I came here because I saw a post about the fried horse mackerel set meal on Instagram. I've known this place since before this building was even here, and I used to come here often. The trust I have in this place pushed me to also order the blue fish sashimi. Unfortunately, the fried horse mackerel seemed to be frozen. The batter was not crispy, but rather hard and crunchy. The fish was piping hot all the way to the core, like it was only possible in a microwave. The sand lance was a bit fishy, but the sardine was okay. The rest seemed like something you could buy at a regular supermarket. Well, it is a supermarket after all. It's different from a regular set meal restaurant, so it's tasty, but it was my fault for expecting too much.

Today's lunch was at a restaurant I had been curious about for a while in Okachimachi. I visited at 12:30 on a weekday and it was quite crowded, as expected during lunch peak hours. I checked in for a seat and waited for my turn. You can choose between counter or table seating. Since I was alone, I chose a counter seat. The waiting time for each seating option was displayed, which was helpful. After a 15-minute wait, I was finally seated at the counter. I ordered the mixed fry set meal for 1,050 yen using a tablet. The mixed fry included shrimp, horse mackerel, and Yoshike croquette. The food arrived in about 10 minutes. I had heard that the horse mackerel fry here was amazing, and indeed it was. It was large, crispy on the outside, and the mackerel was thick and delicious. The croquette and shrimp fry were also tasty! The miso soup with clams added to my satisfaction. It was a delicious horse mackerel fry set meal. Thank you for the meal!

I had the opportunity to gather with friends and visited this place with a wide menu selection. It tends to be crowded on weekends, so the wait time is longer compared to nearby stores, but the seating capacity is large, so the actual wait time is shorter than expected. The menu, including alcoholic beverages, is extensive, with a variety of price ranges for different uses. The Hokkai rice dish is simple, but the generous amount of ingredients makes it satisfying.

Great cost performance, high level. The fish is top notch! You shouldn't be eating Western food or soba here. The Hokkai Meshi was exquisite. The salmon, salmon roe, scallops, crab, they all have a festival in your mouth. Strong flavor. Incredibly delicious! So delicious you'll look up at the sky. You have to try this. Also, I recommend the fried horse mackerel. It's thick and huge! And it smells like the sea, so much better than other places. If you're getting the mixed fry set, the horse mackerel set is a better deal. Also, I ordered beer and it was well-managed and delicious. They have plenty of Niigata sake too! A hidden paradise in Ameyoko. I want to go every day!

I have been to Yoshiike Shokudo so many times that I've lost count. It feels like eating at a local izakaya in Niigata or Hokkaido. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy. The total bill for two people was 6140 yen. We had Hokkai-meshi for 1400 yen, potato fries for 500 yen, half-size seafood salad for 550 yen, jumbo agedashi tofu with natto for 550 yen, dried squid for 680 yen, dried young sardines for 480 yen, Kirin Lager beer (medium bottle) for 650 yen, shochu highball (glass) for 430 yen, and a large single highball for 900 yen.

On my umpteenth visit, I finally ordered the Hokkai Meshi! It's always hard to decide because there are so many tempting options, but it's popular for a reason - the taste is spot on. The salmon is generously sprinkled on top! The Mixed Fry Set Meal features large and thickly cut horse mackerel, a signature dish of Yoshiike.

A clean and modern cafeteria that doesn't look like a typical cafeteria. They offer lunch-like set meals even in the evening, as well as individual items. Prices are a bit on the high side. You order using a touch panel, but the staff didn't explain that at the beginning. No English menu available. When I went on a Wednesday night at 8 pm, there was a "full house" sign at the entrance. I was glad I made a reservation. Reservations are only accepted by phone, not online. The man who answered the reservation call wasn't very friendly.

If you want a good seat with a view of the Skytree while enjoying your meal, this restaurant is a great choice. Many people were drinking beer from lunchtime, and those who prefer a less crowded place than Ueno might like this restaurant. The chirashi sushi is delicious, but the specialty Hokkai-meshi is even better and a unique menu item.

Located right near Ueno-Okachimachi Station, on the upper floors of the Yoshiike Building, is Yoshiike Shokudo. It's convenient being close to the station and the large portion sizes are appreciated. I visited during a late weekday time and didn't have to wait. Orders are placed using a touch panel system. As expected from Yoshiike, there is a wide variety of sashimi and grilled fish options, perfect for when you're in the mood for seafood. The atmosphere is not fancy at all, but it has a simple charm. Thank you for the meal! ♡

I visited Yoshiike Shokudo in Okachimachi for the first time. They offer a wide variety of menu options including Japanese, Western, Chinese, sushi, noodles, and seafood. I ordered the popular Hokkai rice and beef stew set meal. It came with a mini salad. The Hokkai rice with flaked salmon was delicious. The beef stew was also authentic with plenty of meat chunks, and the taste was quite good. The view from the 9th floor was also nice. Thank you for the meal.

We used it after returning from the Mexico exhibition at the National Museum with our family. The most popular dish is the Hokkai Don. It includes plenty of flaked grilled salmon, marinated scallops, crab, and salmon roe. Just this alone makes you want to keep drinking... I ended up having two cups of sake in the daytime. Overall, it's reasonably priced, so I want to keep coming back for a while.

Yoshiike Shokudou in Okachimachi, rated 3.49 on Tabelog, is open every day from 11:00 to 22:00. They accept cash, cards, electronic money, and PayPay. This time, the reviewer visited in the evening to enjoy some drinks. They had draft beer, highball, a sashimi platter, dried squid, fried squid legs, grilled Atka mackerel, Niigata Torio jumbo fried tofu with green onion miso, and Nagasaki-style plate udon. The sashimi platter was excellent with a choice of 8 types, all delicious. The dried squid was surprisingly tasty, and the fried squid legs were a repeat order from a previous visit. The grilled Atka mackerel was large and flavorful without needing any additional seasonings. The fried tofu with green onion miso was simple but delicious, and the Nagasaki-style plate udon was a crispy and hot way to finish the meal. The reviewer noted that the restaurant has a variety of menu items, with the option to order half portions for a variety of dishes. The atmosphere was welcoming, with both counter and table seating available. Despite occasional waits, the turnover of seats was quick. Overall, a great spot for solo dining or socializing with friends over drinks.
