Last year, I happened to come to this restaurant on the final day of the Grand Sumo Tournament, and I remember how the older customers were all getting excited watching the sumo match on TV. Today is Sunday, the final day of the Nagoya Tournament, so I wonder what the atmosphere is like at the restaurant today. Let's go check it out! At 4:37 PM, after a 7-8 minute walk from Asakusa Station, I arrived at the restaurant where about 80% of the customers were present. The TV was showing horse racing on the Green Channel. I sat at the counter and placed my order. - Large bottle of beer 580 Asahi - Tuna sashimi 800 - Mixed fry 830 The beer arrived quickly. As always, Super Dry tastes great. The tuna sashimi came out in just 1 minute. It was served in a bowl with a generous amount of fresh tuna sashimi. Alongside it were shredded daikon radish, grated daikon radish, and plenty of wasabi on top. This tuna was delicious, with exceptional freshness. I love to eat the tuna with both daikon radish and wasabi on top, along with soy sauce. It was really filling, and I couldn't finish it all. I added the mixed fry after the tuna sashimi arrived. In about 3 minutes, freshly fried kisu (sillago) fry, live scallop fry, croquette, and chicken karaage were served. I wasn't expecting much, but all the fried items had a sweet aroma of lard and a crispy texture, making them very tasty. A customer who came in said to the staff, "It's almost time for the sumo match," as the channel switched to sumo. However, a young man holding the remote didn't seem to know which channel it was. He probably wasn't interested in sumo. I couldn't help but say, "Channel 1, Ich!" The atmosphere in the restaurant heated up as the sumo match began, with the adult customers getting really into it. When Kototsurugi stepped into the ring, someone said, "He's already 31, so I want to let him win this time. The young guys will have plenty of chances in the future..." The excitement was palpable! - Shochu highball 450 - Tochio yudofu (simmered tofu) 450 (Total: 3,110) After finishing my beer, I ordered a refreshing shochu highball and also tried the Tochio yudofu. It was a thick piece of fried tofu with a browned surface, garnished with chopped green onions and grated ginger. While it looked like thick tofu, the inside was actually fried tofu with a light and crispy texture. On the dohyo (sumo ring), Toyonoshoryu and Hakurozan were discussing, "We can't lose to these young guys who can't even tie their topknots." Then, in the playoff match, Toyonoshoryu easily won, securing his championship and promotion to the rank of ozeki. Congratulations, Toyonoshoryu! However, with more Mongolian wrestlers dominating the sumo world, it's becoming increasingly challenging for the Japanese wrestlers. Daiamami, Wakatakakage, keep up the good work in the next tournament! Also, Kotonoaka, Kinnikiko, you too! I'll definitely come back for the next final day. Thank you for the meal! (^^)
