It's Wednesday night. I'm in Akasaka. Tonight, I'm wandering around Akasaka with no particular reservation, just hoping to find a restaurant that catches my interest. I get off at Tameike-Sanno station on the Namboku Line and walk around the area. I stumble upon Tomikikun in Espalande Akasaka on the corner of Akasaka Street. I remember seeing this place in Takashimaya's basement food court and TBS headquarters building. A few weeks ago, I had eel without steaming in Nagoya. Alright, tonight, I'll try the steamed eel at Mitochofu, haha! It's just before 7 pm, and as I enter, there are no customers on the first floor. I'm led downstairs and seated at a table for four, with only a family of three there. It's quiet and nice, but a bit lonely. I order the eel rice set with liver and pickles. The staff mention, "It will take about thirty minutes to steam and grill the eel." Haha, what a tempting offer. Should I order some appetizers while waiting? I notice they have a perfect evening drink set. When I ask about the alcohol, they have Fukinuki sake. There's no escaping this trap. In the end, I order the eel rice, evening drink set, and Fukinuki sake. I sip on the appetizer and evening drink set to pass the time, and before I know it, "Here you go!" The eel rice is served. It hasn't even been twenty minutes! Oh well, there are no other customers, so maybe they prepared it quickly. Now, let's get to the main point. Each comment is listed in the picture section, so please take a look at the images along with the comments. And thank you for the meal.
<Summary>
First, the eel rice. The sauce is spicy and the rice is firm, a good match. The eel is small and thin, but well, it's the heart of Akasaka, so it's expected. The evening drink set includes eel zaku, eel jelly, small pillars (actually mini scallops) and daikon salad. The Sichuan pepper is excellent in aroma and freshness, probably due to good turnover.
