The restaurant I visited was "Neo Bistro MURA Nakano branch", located just a 1-minute walk from Nakano station north exit on the 3rd floor of a building. The restaurant has 57 seats mainly with tables, but on that day, we were guided to a private room separated by curtains. We toasted with champagne while gazing at the Nakano cityscape from the window. The menu offers a variety of dishes with the chef's originality. Starting with a toasted baguette, we then enjoyed a colorful assortment of 10 types of appetizers. The salmon in particular had an exquisite texture that melted in the mouth like mousse. Next, we tried the "Instant Smoked Bonito Tataki Style", with a vinaigrette sauce that complemented the smoked aroma. The "Fried Eggplant Beignet and Kawahagi Liver" made us crave for sake, and the "Bouillabaisse made with seafood from Shimokita Peninsula" was filled with crab, shrimp, clams, and mussels, which we savored every last drop of. We paired the dishes with white wine and enjoyed the perfectly cooked "Roasted Kishu Duck" with Madeira and green pepper sauce. The crispy skin and tender meat of the duck were a delightful contrast. Each dish not only tasted great but also looked beautiful, making it irresistible not to take photos for Instagram. I recommend checking out this restaurant in the Nakano area. We started with various glasses of white wine, but some were extremely cold while others were not cold at all. When we ordered a bottle of red wine, it was surprisingly warm. The wine was not stored properly, and it was disappointing. Despite the excellent food, we don't plan on returning due to the disappointing drinks.

You order using a barcode. I chose the pork sauté drink set. The price varies depending on the drink you choose. I ended up drinking red wine in the afternoon. It looks like there are lots of vegetables, but there is also a good amount of meat, so I felt satisfied. You can have up to two additional baguettes. The taste is... it's delicious, but it may not leave a strong impression. The seats are generally spacious, and I think the cost performance is not bad, so if I have the opportunity to come with a friend, I would like to use it again.

We found our way to Neo Bistro MURA - Handmade Kitchen - Nakano branch, located at 5-65-6 Nakano, Nakano-ku, Tokyo, in the Yamawa Building 3rd floor. There are many entrances to similar buildings in the area, so it was a bit confusing to find the right one. This restaurant had signs on its windows during the COVID-19 pandemic, but it's still open for business, which was great to see! For drinks, we ordered two draft beers, Corona beer, and ginger ale. As a starter, we were served figs with cream cheese, or something similar to that, along with carrot salad. The salad was generously topped with ham, balsamic vinegar, nuts, and chicken liver, making it quite a luxurious dish. We also ordered a quiche, which turned out to be a large quiche with a gooey cheese filling and slices of bread soaked in egg mixture, more like a savory French toast with filling. The wine drinkers in our group ordered wine, and the staff recommended the duck dish, knowing that we all love duck and have an annual duck party around Christmas time. The duck was tender and delicious, served with a variety of tasty vegetables. Each dish was plentiful and enjoyable. The restaurant was located on the 3rd floor, with a similar establishment on the 4th floor. Each table was separated by acrylic panels, providing a considerate and intimate dining experience. We placed our orders through a smartphone, and despite the initial 2-hour time limit for reservations, we were allowed to stay for an additional half hour. Last time, I was turned away due to being full, so this was my second visit. It was crowded again, but when I asked if there were any seats available, I was led to a table without being asked about reservations. The lunch menu was a bit complicated, with options like a one-plate menu with pork and roast, as well as an a la carte menu where you can choose 5, 7, or 10 items for different prices. It took me a while to decipher the menu as it was my first visit. I chose the recommended quiche, roast pork & chicken, potato gratin, carpaccio, and one more dish for a 1000 yen plate. Even if you choose 10 items, it's only 1500 yen, so it's quite affordable. The chef, who is a duck master, cooked the dishes well, especially the crispy skin of the chicken roast. The other dishes were also good. The prices are so reasonable that there were many students among the customers. The evening course with all-you-can-drink options is also affordable, starting from under 4000 yen. Thank you for the meal.

If you try to add more, it will fit. However, the initial serving is slow, so you may run out of time to get a refill. The salad looks plentiful, but it's mostly leaves, so the quantity isn't that much. The soup seems to be made by straining crushed corn, but it has a somewhat instant taste. If this costs 1000 yen, then the 4th floor is definitely better. Payment is accepted through PayPay or cash only. The service is not particularly bad, but it's not great either. The plate was filled with lots of greens, a slice of tomato, and carrot salad, so plenty of veggies. The carrot salad was quite carrot-y. A slice of baguette was served as a side, just a token amount of carbs haha. There was a cold soup, maybe corn soup. The main chicken dish had crispy skin and juicy meat, paired well with mustard sauce. Everything was delicious. My companion had the pork plate, which also looked very tasty. With all the veggies, it was quite satisfying for a woman's portion. For men, the pork plate might be more satisfying with a hearty meaty feel. The staff were polite but not very friendly, which was a bit strange.
