I tried a tempura skewer restaurant on the 3rd floor of Akihabara UDX for the first time. When I sat at the counter shaped like a "コ", a plate with vegetables, sauces, and tofu was brought out first. When I ordered a drink, they asked if I had any dislikes or allergies, but I didn't have any. The tempura skewers come out automatically, and you have to signal when you want to stop ordering. It's fun not knowing what will come next. The items that came out were shrimp with shiso, beef and leeks, shimeji mushrooms, lotus root, Nagoya Cochin chicken, Kamo eggplant, asparagus, and then pickled vegetables for a palate cleanser. Next came pickled ginger, quail, conger eel with plum and shiso, shiitake mushrooms, Shihoro beef, and shishito peppers, and I signaled for two more items before stopping. German potatoes were confirmed as the next dish, and they asked for a preference on the last one, so I requested meat. Finally, I ended with black pork belly tempura. Some items were plain while others had fillings or were wrapped in meat, adding variety. I particularly enjoyed the pickled ginger, conger eel, Shihoro beef, and black pork. I finished with ice cream and tea. I overate a bit, looking forward to the next items.
