I had some errands in Asakusa, so I decided to stop by here on a whim! There were several groups of salarymen who came in one after another after work. I was just on a walk... looking for a place to have a drink maybe... and this place seemed like a good option. Thank you for the meal!

On a public holiday Friday around 1pm, I visited the restaurant. It was lunchtime but there were 2-3 empty tables so I was able to sit down without waiting, which was nice. The clientele was a mix of Western and Japanese customers. As a beer lover, I had been wanting to try this place for a while. I started with a Marief Blanc for a toast. It was a scorching hot day with temperatures reaching 35 degrees, so I quickly finished the beer. I then ordered the garlic sauce steak, Iberico pork ajillo, and Caesar salad. I also added a Marief Noir. The steak was a bit chewy for my liking, but I enjoyed it with the garlic sauce. The pork in the ajillo was tender and juicy. It had a salty flavor but wasn't overpowering, especially when dipped with the baguette. The salad had fresh vegetables and was satisfying with croutons and dressing. If you come to this restaurant, I highly recommend ordering this salad. I finished up here to move on to the next place for an Extra Cold beer. I will definitely come back here for more beer. Thank you for the meal.

I took advantage of the Keikyu Line's summer pilgrimage campaign and came to Asakusa Shrine, but it was crowded and I couldn't find a quiet place to enjoy a beer. Then I remembered Sumida Brewing just beyond Azuma Bridge, so I crossed the bridge and went there. The beer was delicious, but I indulged too much in the leisurely fish & chips, making me feel relaxed.

Craft beer produced by Asahi Beer. Established in 1995 by the Sumida River in Tokyo, it was the first craft beer to be brewed in the city. Since 2017, it has been served in various restaurants in Tokyo, with more places offering it recently. The interior of the restaurant features high chairs for a bar-like atmosphere, making it easy for solo customers to enjoy. A relaxing adult space near the Sumida River. Perfect for dinner or meeting up with friends. Today's beer is the Bitter Stout, made with carefully selected bitter hops for a deep flavor and high-quality bitterness. It's the best!

Asahi headquarters is a shop located under a golden sideways flame. It can be classified as a beer garden, but they also take care of people who don't like beer. They offer a wide variety of beers such as Kolsch, Weizen, black beer, Super Dry, draft beer, black draft beer, and even three types of craft beer. In addition, they have low-alcohol beer, non-alcoholic beer, low-alcohol cocktails, and non-alcoholic cocktails. They also have unique options like Mitsuya Craft Cola and Calpis (it is part of the Asahi Group). The food menu complements the beer, with options like roast beef, smoked platter, garlic rice, and more. It seems like a great place for a first stop. Many people have seen the golden object, but not many have actually tried it, so it could be a good conversation starter. Thank you for the feast!

I visited on a rainy Sunday around 2 pm, so it was not crowded. They have their own brewed beer in the store, as well as beer delivered from their own brewery, and the beer is fresh and delicious! For snacks, we had fish and chips, onion rings, and I also ordered the Napoli-style pasta which caught my eye. I don't usually order Napoli-style pasta, but this one was great! It had a poached egg on top, and when mixed, it tasted like a mix of carbonara and tomato sauce. It wasn't the stir-fried pasta I've had before, but more soupy with smooth noodles. I want to eat it again! We went with two people, had two beers each, ordered the three dishes mentioned above, and it came to just under 3000 yen per person.

I passed by and decided to quickly have a drink! The terrace seats are nice this time of year. I had a Suidagawa Brewing Kolsch-style beer. It was freshly poured and easy to drink, very delicious! They had a variety of appetizers. Both the prosciutto and anchovy cabbage were tasty.

I arrived at a shop that opens at 3 o'clock and decided to have a drink while waiting. The first floor was crowded, so I went to the second floor today. The seats were not too crowded, but it had a nice lively atmosphere. I felt like having a refreshing beer, so I chose the Kolsch-style beer, one of the three main craft beers at this shop. I forgot to take a picture of the snacks, but I had roast beef. I enjoyed my drink for about an hour, feeling good, before heading to the next shop.

I arrived at this place for lunch around 11:15, and there was only one other group already there. The daily lunch special is quite a good deal at 850 yen, but I opted for the Beef Steak with Salt Sauce and Lemon Rice Ball Lunch for 1,280 yen. First, I had some soup to start, which was a consommé base. Then, after about 6 minutes, the rice ball arrived. It was a fairly large ball with half of it filled with vegetables - lettuce, onion, tomato, carrot, and paprika, all colorful and healthy. The dressing was delicious too. The steak was a bit on the tough side, lean with about 80g of meat. The salt sauce had a strong flavor, making the rice very enjoyable. For my drink after the meal, I had a refreshing 100% grapefruit juice. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice, with high ceilings, and there were many foreigners and elderly customers. They were mostly drinking beer, which made me question why I was working instead of sightseeing. From entering to finishing my meal, it took about 30 minutes. They accept various electronic payment methods like PayPay, WAON, and ID. Overall, it's a great lunch option for those visiting Asakusa for sightseeing.

I had always been curious about this restaurant. I visited on a weekday night and enjoyed the unlimited happy hour where I could get a Margherita and an extra cold beer for a good deal. Both were delicious and I had a great time.

Cheers with Asahi beer. Enjoy hot plate spaghetti with black beer and strawberry extract infused beer. Also, savor hot plate hamburg steak with rice. Both dishes are served piping hot and full of flavor, making them a perfect match for beer!

This year's first shrine visit in 2023 was at Asakusa Temple. It was crowded, with long lines at the shops I wanted to visit. I wore a kimono, so I skipped Hoppy Street. The Electric Town was also crowded. The terrace was not an option due to the cold weather, so I went inside. The beer was delicious as always. The snacks didn't fill me up, but as I drank beer, my obi (kimono sash) started feeling tight, which was just right. Maybe people in the past ate less because they wore kimonos all the time, haha. The shrine visit in Tokyo went well, so I'm looking forward to eating and drinking a lot this year.

I went to Asakusa Temple for the New Year's visit and found that all the popular shops had long lines. I decided to cross the Sumida River and head to the Honjo Azumabashi side, where I found "TOKYO Sumida River Brewing" without having to wait. It is a craft beer shop operated by Asahi Beer, located right next to the Asahi Beer headquarters. The first floor is "TOKYO Sumida River Brewing Bar style" and the second floor is "TOKYO Sumida River Brewing", offering the same craft beers but with different menu items. There are also terrace seats, but I opted for indoor seating due to the season. The terrace on the first floor even has kotatsu seats. I tried three types of craft beers: "Kolsch Style" with a refreshing aftertaste, "Fragrant Weizen" with a soft texture and fruity aroma, and "Bitter Stout" with a deep richness and quality bitterness. The food menu mainly consists of casual dishes that pair well with beer, such as fish & chips and smoked assortments. It's a great place for a leisurely drink even on weekends, making it perfect for day drinking. Overall, I think it's better than the touristy Hoppy Street.

It has a stylish atmosphere. It's a bit pricey, but I recommend it for a date. It's perfect for a mature gathering, with a slightly calm atmosphere. However, the ladies at the next table were talking quite loudly... Well, I guess it can't be helped since it was during the day. I think it wouldn't be an issue at night.

After Christmas, I took a day off on a weekday at the end of the year and went for a solo lunch drink. I went to the first floor of the Asahi Beer golden object located near Azumabashi in Asakusa. It was a clear day with bright sunshine, but since it was late December, I decided to sit at a table inside instead of the terrace. Since it's the Asahi Beer headquarters, I thought of ordering the typical Super Dry, but decided to try a different beer instead. I ordered a Peroni Nastro Azzurro for 820 yen. It's a beer from Italy, although it's produced under license in Japan. It was refreshing, crisp, and satisfying. The guilt and satisfaction of drinking beer during a weekday afternoon is irresistible. Thank you for the meal.

Located in the hometown of Asahi Group Holdings, I decided to enter this eye-catching place because it was too cold to walk around. I arrived around 5 pm, still early, and at first, I was the only one there, but soon after, young groups started coming in one after another. The interior of the restaurant is spacious and you can sit comfortably.
- Steak Rice Bowl (1480 yen, tax included)
- Dry Zero (non-alcoholic, 550 yen)
I wish the steak in the bowl was a bit larger. The taste was neither good nor bad. As for the non-alcoholic beer, I don't have much experience with it, so it's hard to compare, but I found it surprisingly delicious. I usually prefer beer as my go-to drink with meals, so it was a pleasant surprise to find a non-alcoholic option that I enjoyed. If I have the chance, I would like to revisit and try a simple pairing of sausages and craft beer.

Sumidagawa Brewing / Asakusa ¥2,000~ 3 minutes walk from Asakusa Station ⭐️ Tabelog rating 3.44
This is an Asahi Beer beer hall located near the Sumida River. The exterior is stylish, so it's a good place to stop by for a drink. You can try different beers such as a tasting set or Kuranami White that you wouldn't normally drink. There aren't many other shops nearby, so it can be difficult to find a second place to go. It's a good idea to plan ahead whether you're going to Asakusa, heading to Honjo Azumabashi, or taking a train somewhere else.

This is a shop located under the Asahi Beer headquarters in Asakusa. I went there around 4 PM on a Sunday and was able to get in smoothly. I chose to sit inside, but the terrace seats also had a nice atmosphere. The highlight is the style similar to a certain H○B. I enjoyed tasting various beers such as drink comparison sets and Sayama Green.

Usage situation and shop notes - Friday around 9:00 PM - There were already two other groups of 2 customers, and some of the beers were sold out, so if you want to have a wider selection of beers, you should come a little earlier. We ordered a tasting set of 4 beers from left to right in the photo: a light beer like Super Dry, a unique aroma like bread crust in Kura-mae White, slightly sweet and delicious, and a Stout that is just right for sharing, with a coffee-like flavor in Kura-mae Black. I love shops where you can compare different beers like this. It's not too expensive, so it's nice to stop by after sightseeing in Asakusa or Skytree. I wonder if it gets crowded on weekends during the day.

I arrived without knowing that the name had changed, and found an additional kind of beer to try, at almost double the price. Today's recommendation was a coffee-flavored beer, but it wasn't to my liking. I wanted to try the Extra Cold beer, but it seems they don't have it at the current store. I ordered pickles, roast ham salad, and mushroom ajillo. There are no pictures, but I also ordered a sausage platter. Everything had a strong flavor that paired well with the beer. Personally, I really enjoyed the pickles and sauerkraut that came with the sausage.
