On this day, we walked from Ryogoku to Asakusa around 6pm. Our goal was to go eat eel. My side job was decided, and my partner prepared a celebration for me. What a kind partner...thanks! ✨ So, we went to a place called Unatetsu that was recommended by my partner's colleague. We ordered Hitsumabushi, and since there were both salt and sauce options, we ordered two to share. At first, both my partner and I were saying "I'm not a big fan of putting dashi on rice," but...it was delicious! ✨ Yes, we underestimated Hitsumabushi. It was so tasty. Eel is really deep. And most importantly, it goes well with beer. Since we were in Asakusa, we had Asahi beer, of course. Asakusa is the place with the poop-shaped clouds on the building! As for how to eat it, first we had it as it is. Mixing the eel and rice feels quite bold! Then we poured the dashi on it. The sauce had a fragrant soy sauce aroma. The salt was simple, bringing out the flavor of the ingredients. It's good to eat it as it is, but since they provided condiments, we added them in. Sansho pepper, wasabi, shiso leaves, etc... Mmm, changing the flavor is also nice! Actually, I hadn't eaten eel for about 10 years. (The last time was during a business trip in Nagoya at my previous job) Oh, I was moved to be able to eat it again after so long. The staff at the restaurant were all so kind. Just by ordering, they asked, "Will you be sharing this?" They were so attentive. Thank you very much! And it was incredibly delicious! Thank you for the meal! ===========
