On the way back from my parents' house, I decided to stop by Akihabara after a long time. I had been curious about a sushi restaurant specializing in seared sushi that I had heard about. I generally like seared sushi because the searing enhances the fattiness. Since seared sushi already tends to be fatty, I usually enjoy it. This restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of UDX. I had never been inside UDX before. I arrived around 1:10 PM and there was a wait of about 10 people. Despite being in Akihabara, there are many restaurants that are not open, so waiting is common. I got in after about 20 minutes. They have both counter and table seating. It seems like you order through a tablet and the sushi chef hands it to you. The conveyor belt wasn't moving. When I placed my order, there were indeed many seared options. Also, surprisingly, there were many types of sushi on the menu. Recently, sushi restaurants seem to be reducing their variety, maybe due to inflation. I thought the total would definitely exceed 4000 yen since I had also ordered a 700 yen menu item, but it came out to 3905 yen. I paid with PayPay. Despite being quite full, the bill didn't exceed 4000 yen. The taste was similar to my favorite Choshi Maru. The menu on the tablet also looked similar. The fattiness was good, suitable for someone like me who loves fatty tuna. The lean tuna was also delicious, so overall, the quality was high. I was very satisfied and would like to visit again.
- Thick Rolled Omelette with Dipping Sauce 297 yen: Quite sweet but not overwhelming, with a refreshing aftertaste. It's good for cleansing the palate.
- Three Types of Grilled Eel (Salt Lemon, Charred Soy Sauce, Sweet Miso) 462 yen: Quite fatty and delicious. The lemon and sweet miso have strong flavors, enhancing the eel's taste. The grilled eel is especially recommended.
- Tuna Trio (Raw, Marinated, Charred with Mayo) 462 yen: Smooth texture with a mild taste. The marinated one has a slightly stronger flavor but doesn't differ much in texture from the raw one. The charred with mayo surprisingly doesn't overpower the tuna's taste.
- Overflowing Salmon Roe 792 yen: Quite expensive for the overflowing part, but visually appealing. The ample salmon roe brings happiness. The soy sauce is more flavorful with a strong dashi taste. The salmon roe itself is satisfying, but the overflowing part can be messy due to the bamboo leaf.
- Seared Salmon Belly with Grated Radish and Yuzu Ponzu 209 yen: Less fatty than expected, more like salted salmon, but still delicious.
- Seared Eel with Grated Radish and Yuzu Ponzu 352 yen: The grated radish gives a refreshing kick. The smooth texture of the eel with the crispness of the radish creates a nice balance.
- Seared Fatty Tuna with Salt Lemon 539 yen: Larger pieces of tuna. The fattiness disappears quickly in the mouth, leaving a satisfying feeling. Is the saltiness coming from the rock salt?
- Large Fatty Tuna (2 pieces) 792 yen: Ended with the fatty tuna. The pink flesh looks appetizing. The fattiness is indeed strong, but it's a refined and velvety texture. There's a sweetness in the fat. The fattiness wasn't as intense as expected, but the quality was high, leaving a satisfying feeling after eating Otoro.
