The restaurant's name is "Sagatani". It is a chain of sit-down soba restaurants that I used to frequent in Hamamatsucho. During my visit back to Japan, I decided to eat what I wanted without overthinking it. I stumbled upon this restaurant in Shibuya, which brought back nostalgic memories. The unique electric stone mill at the entrance caught my attention. Inside, I was surprised to see a female staff member handling the soba, which is rare for a soba restaurant. The atmosphere was calm, with mostly business people as customers. I ordered the mori soba (380 yen) and a small portion of curry rice (250 yen). The seaweed served with the soba can be self-served at the counter. The soba was impressive for its price, with a good texture and flavor. The curry rice was outstanding, with perfectly cooked rice and flavorful beef curry that gradually becomes spicier and leaves you wanting more. Personally, I would have liked to have some fukujinzuke with it. The soba broth was slightly cloudy, providing a comforting warmth. The quality of the food at such affordable prices is commendable. They also serve beer if you want to enjoy a quick meal of soba and beer before heading home. Despite being a chain restaurant, they deliver a satisfying dining experience and are definitely worth a visit.

I was looking for a place to have dinner in Shibuya and came across a sign for "Juwari Soba" (100% buckwheat soba). After checking on Tabelog and seeing some decent reviews, I decided to go to this restaurant. The interior had chairs but it was a standing-style eatery. You buy a meal ticket, hand it over at the counter, and then pick up your order when it's ready. I wanted to try the firm texture of cold soba and also the sesame sauce, so I ordered the "Special Mori Soba" with sesame sauce and regular dipping sauce, topped with tempura chikuwa. The soba seemed to be pre-cooked, but the tempura chikuwa took a while to be ready. The tempura seemed freshly fried and the soba portion was quite large since I ordered the special size. The soba had a good texture and the dipping sauce had a slight sweetness which I liked. The sesame sauce had a hint of walnut flavor which wasn't really to my taste. Overall, I would say this standing-style soba shop is of a high standard. There were a lot of foreign customers, perhaps because it's in Shibuya.

I went to Sosaya Shibuya, a Tokachi soba restaurant in Shibuya. I had the cold tempura soba for 550 yen. The noodles had a good texture, and I think it's great to be able to eat Tokachi soba of this quality at this price. The cold soba here is really delicious. I wish there were soba restaurants of this level in Kansai.

I arrived around 10:30 am. It's an odd time, but there were quite a few customers. I decided to have some steamed dishes, but I was thinking about what to have with the tempura. In the end, I chose grated daikon with a spicy kick to go with my tempura. I bought a meal ticket from the machine and made my way through the narrow eel bed-like restaurant to my seat. The dishes are called out by number when they are ready. I sat near the exit and faced my soba noodles. I had high hopes for the soba. I poured one-third of the grated daikon onto my soba cup and took a bite. The spiciness of the daikon added a nice kick. The freshly fried tempura was seasoned with salt, which I sprinkled on top. The salt I used was Alpen Salt, which I also use at home. I mixed the remaining one-third of the daikon with the tempura and enjoyed it. After finishing my soba, I poured the remaining daikon, along with wasabi and green onions, into the soba broth and enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal.

"There was no 'welcome' or 'thank you' in the store. About half a year ago, I visited during a relatively quiet evening. The staff were chatting with each other, and there was no 'welcome' when I entered, no words when I handed over the food ticket at the vending machine, and no 'thank you' when I left. I felt that the store was quite unfriendly. I thought it might have been just that time, so I visited again to confirm. This time, I visited during a busy lunch hour. It's understandable that the staff didn't say 'welcome' when I entered, as I couldn't be seen from the customer's side. But when I handed over the purchased food ticket, the staff remained silent! Normally, there would be a few words exchanged. And when I finished eating and returned the dishes to the dish rack (it's self-service, so I brought them myself), there was a staff member on the other side, but they didn't say anything. Normally, they would say 'thank you.' I felt uncomfortable. I don't know if this is the policy of the owner or the store manager of this Shibuya store, but a restaurant without these basic greetings is the worst. Just for the record, I had the tempura soba, and the taste was okay. That's why I gave it 2 points."

I have been visiting this place occasionally since before. You can eat delicious soba here that is cheap, fast, and tasty. The prices have gone up a bit since before, but it's still affordable. The set meal has a good amount of food for the price, so the cost performance is great. They also offer a subscription service, which is very cost-effective if you plan to visit often. I hope they can keep the prices the same in the future.

On this day when I had to work on the weekend, I was feeling hungry as I had been moving around since the morning. Since I had some time to spare, I decided to go to my favorite soba restaurant! I arrived at a place where they make soba flour using a stone mill right at the storefront. The price is for standing soba, but the quality of the soba is outstanding. It's a bit of a detour, but totally worth it. As usual, I ordered the set with soba and curry. I wish I could get it for a bargain, but once in a while, it's okay. So, let's dig into the soba! As a bonus, they also served a small dish of fresh seven spice and seaweed. I added some extra spiciness with the fresh seven spice. The soba is easy to eat, not too chewy even though it's made from 100% buckwheat. And my favorite part is the curry here! It's delicious on its own, but I topped it with some fresh seven spice.

Today's energy booster, morning soba! "Tenyu Soba (cold) @ 100% buckwheat soba, Sagatani Shibuya Tokyu Honten-mae branch". The noodles come straight out of the noodle-making machine and into the pot to be boiled, then squeezed in cold water to achieve a satisfying chewy texture. The freshly fried crispy tempura is made with a base of onions, with a hint of green beans, carrots, and burdock. Wakame seaweed is self-serve and you can add as much as you like. The addition of naruto fish cake gives it a nostalgic touch. This is hands down the best soba in the Shibuya area. It was incredibly delicious! ⭐

I stopped by after borrowing a CD at TSUTAYA in Shibuya. Item: Tempura Soba for 550 yen. I added free wakame seaweed. The freshly fried tempura was sweet and delicious. The high elasticity of the noodles was addictive. It had been a while since I last had it, but this 100% buckwheat soba is truly one of a kind.

After 20:30, I visited a shop located in front of the old Tokyu department store, next to Starbucks. The entrance of the shop is narrow, so first-time visitors might miss it, so please be careful. Inside the shop, it is long and narrow, and as soon as you enter, there is a vending machine to purchase meal tickets. It is a shop where even a single woman can enter, but it may feel a bit cramped, and you might be bothered by people walking back and forth while eating. The ordering system here is self-service. This time, I ordered the cold tempura set for 700 yen. When the order is ready, you will be called by a number. At the counter where you pick up your order, there is Wakame seaweed that you can serve yourself. The Wakame is not particularly delicious, so it's better to serve yourself a moderate amount. The cold tempura set includes soba noodles and a tempura rice bowl. It's a satisfying portion size for a woman. The soba noodles are decent for the price. If you feel like eating soba noodles and this place is nearby, it might be worth going occasionally. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. Just for your reference!

Today I had to go on a business trip in the afternoon, so I decided to have lunch before that. The restaurant I planned to go to was unexpectedly closed for air conditioning maintenance, so I had to change my plans last minute. Since it was already past lunchtime, people were coming out from different places to have lunch. I had to compromise and ended up going to a reliable place! This restaurant is my go-to spot for breakfast. This time, I ordered the curry set with soba noodles, and upgraded to a large portion. You can add free toppings like seaweed and fresh shichimi pepper. The soba noodles are delicious as always, but the curry here is also consistently tasty. I almost want to come back just to have the curry in a regular portion. With the arrival of the season for cold noodles, I'll be visiting this restaurant more often! Thank you for the meal.

My favorite soba restaurant near my workplace. It's a little off the beaten path from my commute, but it's my favorite spot for breakfast in Shibuya. I had some extra time today, so I decided to visit after a long time. When I come here, I always go for the classic zaru soba and curry set! The soba noodles made in-house are delicious, but the curry here is my favorite. You purchase a ticket and after a while, your number is called. When you receive your soba, you can also get free toppings like fresh shichimi pepper and wakame seaweed. The shichimi pepper isn't extremely spicy, but it has a great flavor. You can add the wakame to your dipping sauce or use it as a side dish, or just sprinkle it on your soba if you're having it cold. After finishing the noodles, it's time for the curry! I sprinkle the leftover shichimi pepper on top. It's spicier than regular soba restaurant curry, which I love. Even though there are other menu items that catch my eye, I always end up ordering this... (laughs) Now that things are settling down with COVID and you can drink in Shibuya, maybe I'll use this place as a late-night spot for drinks next time? (laughs) Thank you for the meal.

You won't feel the full flavor of 100% buckwheat, nor will you experience the texture of stone-milled soba. However, considering the cost performance, it is more than enough. Plus, having freshly ground seven-spice seasoning available is a nice bonus. Using the tempura subscription service, you can also enjoy cheap beer, making the cost of living significantly lower. During the evening, more than 50% of customers are foreign tourists, so if you are nervous about infectious diseases, it might be best to avoid this place.

I came after a long time, but it's on a different level from F Soba and Y Taro. I ordered Mori Soba (soba noodles served on a bamboo mat) and Chicken Tempura. The soba noodles had a good texture and were delicious. It was a shame that the Wakame (seaweed) for the all-you-can-eat option was not available on the table. The Chicken Tempura was crispy and freshly fried, which made me happy. I think it's quite good for a quick meal when you're short on time.

Located a 5-minute walk from JR Shibuya Station (Hachiko Exit), "Sagatani" is a soba restaurant part of the "For You Group" with multiple locations in Tokyo. Their Tempura Soba Cold (550 yen) is a must-try with its crispy tempura that includes carrots, onions, and other vegetables. The soba noodles made from 100% buckwheat have a firm texture and great chewiness. Wakame seaweed for free refills is available on each table. Ten-wheat soba is made without any wheat flour, allowing for a more pronounced flavor and aroma, making cold soba a recommended choice. Also featured in the YouTube video "Alpee's Standing Soba Exploration #6" by Alco & Peace.

Reasonable and delicious! It's been a while since I had soba, but it was delicious! The ajigohan (rice with seasoned horse mackerel) that comes with this set was also good. There are quite a lot of dishes in the set and the cost performance is good. I want to go again! Everything is at the counter, so I think even women can feel free to go. There was actually a woman dining alone. Recommended Ajigohan set 650, cash payment only.

I visited this restaurant because it was often visited by my favorite YouTuber. The atmosphere is calm and clean, and I like it more than Fuji Soba. The soba itself was made with 100% buckwheat flour, and it had a good texture and smoothness. I ordered a large serving, but even so, it went down smoothly and I felt like I could have eaten a little more, but I think it's just right to eat until you're 80% full. It's mostly self-service, but the staff are friendly, so I think it's relatively easy for solo female diners to visit.

I ordered the tempura and extra green onions with a soft-boiled egg on top. It was decent, but maybe my expectations were too high. The flavor of the dipping sauce was okay, but I wasn't completely satisfied. The soba noodles were made of 100% buckwheat, but I didn't find them particularly delicious. When it comes to standing soba shops, Yashima in Nishikasai is the best. Everyone has their own preferences, right? (^^)

A morning staple, standing soba. Well, I don't actually stand and eat these days, but I eat this genre somewhere every week! As it's getting warmer, I headed to my favorite shop! This shop grinds the soba with a stone mill in the store, and the soba is delicious! This time, I had a set of cold soba and curry! A nutritious meal to start the day! I bought a ticket and went to the counter, then my number was called and I picked up my order. I got some toppings like seaweed and shichimi togarashi at the counter and added them to my dish. The specialty soba has a great texture and is delicious, you don't need to go far to have good soba (laughs). I added the seaweed topping halfway through to make seaweed soba. And the curry here! I have it every time I come here, it's delicious. It's so flavorful, it could easily be served at a regular curry restaurant. It's probably because it's based on minced meat, which brings out the umami flavor. In the end, I am always satisfied with this place. Personally, I prefer cold soba over hot soba, so I find myself coming here more often in the summer (laughs). They also have a special menu for regular customers, so maybe I'll join in only during the summer (laughs). Thank you for the meal.

Located across from Shibuya Tokyu Main Store, this standing soba noodle shop has a simple storefront. The interior is so narrow that people can barely pass each other, resembling an eel's sleeping spot. However, the taste is authentic, serving soba noodles ground in a stone mortar right in front of the shop.
- Tendon Soba (Cold) 600 yen
- Zaru Soba 450 yen
- Kakiage (tempura) 150 yen
- Small portion of horse mackerel rice 250 yen
The soba noodles are different from the rustic type that breaks easily, instead they are chewy. The aroma of the soba is subtle but the texture is great. The tempura is generously filled with ingredients and crispy when freshly fried. The horse mackerel rice has a fluffy texture with a rich flavor of the sea. Despite the cramped space resembling an eel's sleeping spot, this soba shop offers excellent value for money.

This is a soba restaurant in Shibuya. I didn't have much of an appetite, so I wanted something light to eat, and decided to go to a soba restaurant today. The kakesoba was 400 yen and you could have unlimited free wakame on top. The combination of shichimi and soba was delicious. It was nice to have unlimited wakame on top.
