After finishing lunch in Ogawa-cho, we moved to Akihabara to look for home electronics. After shopping, we planned to take a dessert break on the 8th floor restaurant floor. We decided to enter the "Shaoyanchun" Yodobashi Akihabara store, attracted by the Taiwanese sweets. I suddenly realized that the name of the store looked familiar. I remembered that it used to be in Tokyu Plaza in Ginza and I really liked it, but it had closed down. So, it was a pleasant surprise to see it here! The casual Taiwanese cuisine and sweets were enjoyable, and the somewhat street food-style interior was full of customers even around 3 pm. Oh no! I thought we were taking a dessert break, but my husband...
- "Draft Beer @580 yen (tax included)" I quickly finished it in one gulp and... of course, when you drink, you also want some snacks.
- "Today's 3 Side Dishes @480 yen (tax included)" Steamed chicken with bean sprouts, potato salad with minced meat sauce, and smashed cucumber.
- "Taiwanese Fried Potatoes @380 yen (tax included)" Crispy and hot. I could taste the pepper, but the saltiness was mild.
- "Xiaolongbao (3 pieces) @420 yen (tax included)" The soup didn't come out as much as I expected, but the hot, chewy skin and juicy meat were quite good. My husband was getting into gear.
- "Lemon Sour @480 yen (tax included)" He finally moved on to the main drink.
- "Taiwanese Mixed Noodles @880 yen (tax included)" Slightly spicy, but my daughter surprisingly ate it well. Finally, it was time for the dessert we came for.
- "Fruit Douhua @780 yen (tax included)" A moderately sweet douhua with banana, mango, strawberry, white fungus, black tapioca, and plenty of toppings. This was what I wanted to eat!
- "Taiwan Sangdai Xiaoyanchun Parfait @880 yen (tax included)" More luxurious than it looks, with white fungus, mango, banana, strawberry, milk ice cream, whipped cream, aiyu jelly, black tapioca, grass jelly, and Taiwanese castella piled on top! This dessert is a bit heavy for after a meal, so be careful!
Whether you want a hearty Taiwanese lunch or just some snacks, or if you want to enjoy Taiwanese sweets or have a tea break, this restaurant is a great choice.
