Let's go inside the restaurant - the interior has quite a depth, with plenty of table seats. I ordered the Vice Sour Set for 429 yen! Vice sour drinks are delicious, right? The menu said that the ingredients are shiso and apple juice! I knew it was shiso, but I was surprised to learn that apple juice was also used! For side dishes, I ordered the Tuna Offcuts for 495 yen! It looks like fatty tuna offcuts, right? I tried it and it was indeed delicious, with fatty tuna as expected. Please try it too. Another dish I ordered was the Red Spicy Beef Tofu for 528 yen. It looks spicy, but surprisingly, it starts with sweetness and then the spiciness kicks in. It's delicious and addictive. I was intrigued by another drink, so I ordered the 2nd Generation Red Lemon Sour for 429 yen! It's interesting that it's red even though it's a lemon sour. It uses blood orange and lemon. It's definitely delicious! This bar is fun with a variety of unique menu items that are all appealing! I wanted to eat and drink more, but I'm already full... Ueno Station is known for its street-side drinking establishments, but on this day, with the lingering heat of September making it very humid, we wanted to drink in a popular izakaya with good air conditioning, so we visited Hotei-chan. Here, standing and drinking is cheaper with large bottles, but if you sit down, the mega size is very cost-effective. For double the price, you get a liter-sized jug of beer, which is a delight for drinkers. Now it has changed quite a bit, I think. There are nostalgic shops, but was it such a Senbero paradise?? It was bustling with people wandering around, and it was easy to enter, so we visited here. Yeah yeah! The drinks are great! Cheap! Fun! And don't underestimate the taste! It was lunchtime, so we ordered quite a variety of dishes, but each dish was well-prepared. We ended up spending around 4000 yen for two people, but we enjoyed it.

Even though there were four of us, we were seated immediately without waiting. This place offers great value with their large jugs of beer, whiskey, and sour drinks being 2.5 times the regular size for double the price. The variety and affordability of the appetizers are also appealing. We started with refreshing sesame salt cucumbers and garlic marinated mackerel, which went well with the drinks! We also tried garlic, fried mackerel, and various other dishes. The iron plate hormone was delicious too! This moment of feast was truly a blend of awe and bliss. Looking for another place to have a drink, we decided to try Hotte-chan, a place my friend had heard of but never been to before. We ordered various dishes, including simmered dish, curry macaroni salad, marinated squid, honey cheese cream, tulip (deep-fried mashed potato), and edamame. The tulip, a favorite of mine, was crispy and satisfying as always. The honey cheese cream was a pleasant surprise and served as a refreshing palate cleanser. Hotte-chan offers affordable prices for both food and drinks, making it a comfortable and reliable choice for casual dining and drinking.

We spent less than 3,000 yen for two people on food and drinks! I tried sea grapes for the first time, but I didn't find them delicious. The service was good as we were seated promptly and had a pleasant time at the restaurant.

On a hot evening when the sun is slow to set, the guard under the overpass is packed. I hear a kind invitation from the foreign staff at Hotteichan's next door, welcoming me inside. I order a highball (360 yen), grilled beef tendons (390 yen), and grilled pork hormone on a hot plate (350 yen). As I sip on my highball, the hot plate arrives. It's hot and delicious, with a nice kick from the mustard. The meat is tender. I stay for about 15-20 minutes. It's a standing bar, so the turnover is good. The bill comes to 1,150 yen with a 5% standing discount. It was a satisfying snack!

I wanted to drink in Ueno. I walked around looking for a place and checked this one out. I asked, "Can I come in without a reservation?" and the staff said, "It's fine." So I visited. When I was about to order a draft beer, the staff said, "We have Akahoshi bottled beer!" so of course, I had to order that. For food, I had tuna offal, beef stew, prosciutto, and curry macaroni salad. The tuna offal was cheap and delicious. The beef stew was so tasty. The prosciutto was high quality for the price. The curry macaroni salad was incredibly delicious. The rich tomato highball was amazing. Eating and drinking this much for less than 5,000 yen is such a great deal. Thank you for the meal.

When I arrived 5 minutes before opening, I was able to enter the store and ended up in the back, where it was a bit chaotic.

On my day off, I decided to have a morning drink after assisting with business in Shinagawa. I fell into the trap of being able to draw a lottery with one bottle of Akaboshi beer, and if you get Daikichi, you receive a glass from Akaboshi. At first, I got Suekichi, which was disappointing, so I decided to try one more bottle. The result was Chukichi. I was already full and couldn't drink anymore. I thought maybe they sell it at Merikari? Maybe limited ham and beer, rather than wine? I ordered some classic snacks and enjoyed a leisurely drink. The menu had changed, except for one girl. Everyone was cute and had a kind of earnestness that made me want to cheer them on. They were probably not specific skilled foreign workers, right? Well, I hope the current staff will do their best. I decided that one bottle of beer is enough for now.

I arrived at the restaurant in time for the 10:30 opening. I ordered a large size beer and highball, which were enjoyable. The atmosphere was great and I had a good time. The smoked salmon and avocado tartare was ¥390, the dried squid fisherman's pickles were ¥374, the mackerel fry was ¥297, the chicken harami fried was ¥374, the bluefin tuna was ¥528, and the crab miso was ¥253. Overall, it was a good experience.

During the crowded Golden Week in Ueno, I managed to squeeze into a tight counter seat at Hottei-chan's main store. I was relieved to see that the menu included the rumored salmon and avocado tartare, which is not available at other branches. I also ordered my favorite curry macaroni, with red pickled ginger, of course. The curry macaroni is perfect for nibbling, as it uses thin macaroni. It also contains a small amount of onions and tuna, providing occasional flavor variations. As for the tartare, it lived up to my expectations. It has a creamy cheese texture with occasional surprises, offering a unique taste experience. Whether on a cracker or on its own, it pairs well with any drink. Lastly, I ordered the must-have catfish fry to finish off the meal. The crispy coating and tender catfish meat were as delicious as ever. All of this for 1300 yen is simply insane. There was an event in Ueno, and I was able to get into the restaurant early in the evening. The two-hour time limit was just right. It was hot like early summer, so the draft beer tasted great. The sashimi and other dishes were small portions, but we were able to order a variety of dishes. I had a few drinks with my colleagues from work, and we got really into it, but it was nice to be able to drink like this after a long time.

Visited Senbero Net to get their book. Managed to find a standing bar seat and was served a big bottle of Akahoshi beer for 410 yen, which was great. Enjoyed the smoked salmon and avocado tartare for 390 yen, and the beef belly sukiyaki with raw egg for 440 yen, both in just the right amount for one person and delicious. Wanted to try more dishes but had just eaten lunch, so ended up having three more rounds of drinks instead. Will definitely go back when I have the chance.

It may be a stable and delicious restaurant. I often visit for the second or third time. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. However, it seems to close a bit early. If they were open a little later, they could increase their sales. It may be meddling, but the meat miso bean sprouts are delicious.
