Marutoyo, a popular shop outside Tsukiji Market, is known for its wide variety of jumbo rice balls and tuna rolls. Recently, there was a long line of about 30 people on a weekday, indicating a resurgence of visitors to Tsukiji. The famous tuna rolls were sold out before noon, so I decided to come back early in the morning for a rematch. On a Saturday morning around 7 am, there were only about 10 people in line, as the sale of the signature item, the tuna rolls, starts at 7:50 am. However, as more people gathered closer to the time, the rolls were sold out quickly, leaving many customers disappointed. The tuna rolls, priced at 594 yen per pack, contain 6 pieces with a generous amount of tuna and are visually appealing. The negitoro melts in your mouth, while the tuna is fresh and chewy. Despite the recent price increase, the quality and taste of the tuna rolls are still excellent. The most popular item, the salmon belly rice ball priced at 259 yen, is also a must-try. The warm and fluffy salmon belly is generously packed in the 160g rice ball, showcasing the unique quality of Tsukiji. Overall, both the tuna rolls and rice balls were affordable and delicious.

I went at around 7 am, but the tuna sushi rolls I wanted were not available until 7:50. There was a notice saying not to line up or wait. If you go early, they might only have rice balls. While they didn't have the tuna rolls yet, they had salmon, natto, and eel rolls. The salmon was delicious and melt-in-your-mouth!

It's Friday at 12:00. I lined up at a popular restaurant with about 10 people, all waiting for the tuna rolls. The refrigerated case had freshly made tuna rolls on display. It looked like they were still making plenty more inside. They had packs of 6 and packs of 3 available. The rolls were filled with plenty of tuna and were delicious.

Seafood Rice Ball Shop Maruto: Tokyo: A popular rice ball specialty store located in Tsukiji, a 5-minute walk from Tsukiji Station! Open from 6:00, so it's recommended for morning activities! Always crowded with long lines ☑︎ Tuna Roll 580 yen. This roll has more tuna than white rice, it's my first time seeing such a luxurious mix of bluefin and bigeye tuna ✨ The tuna is so tender and melts in your mouth, it's irresistible ~ The tuna roll is sold from 7:30 onwards and is limited in quantity! It seems they raised the price a bit, but you can't get such a splendid tuna roll for 580 yen, it's amazing ☺️ There are tables next to the shop, so you can eat right after buying it! The rice balls with a big impact were also incredibly delicious!! ✨ The parent-child rice ball with salmon and salmon roe is full of volume! I visited around 10 am on a weekday. There was already a line forming, and I waited for about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, the Bakuten (egg and shrimp tempura) onigiri was sold out. I want to come back for it again! I ordered salmon, mentaiko (spicy cod roe), shrimp tempura, anago (sea eel) roll, and tuna roll. The eel roll was wrapped with cucumber and egg, and it was very delicious. Even without dipping it in the sauce provided, the eel had enough sauce flavor on it.

The aim was to arrive before 8 o'clock, but when I arrived at 7:30, there was already a line of about 40 people! The tuna rolls were already being sold. After waiting for about 30 minutes, it was finally my turn. I bought a half portion of tuna rolls and clam soup, and enjoyed them at a table outside the shop. The tuna rolls had two types of tuna - red meat and minced tuna with green onions - which were rolled generously. I liked it a lot. The clam soup had three clams in it. Both were delicious. I wanted to buy more, and I was also interested in the rice balls, but considering my plans for later, I decided to resist this time. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant around 8:00 on Saturday morning. There was a sign saying that they start selling the tuna-packed rolls from 7:50. When I arrived, there were already around 30 people in line. When I tried to join the line at the back, the staff auntie told me to wait a bit because I was blocking the exit lane, so I waited for about 15 minutes before lining up again. It was a bit chaotic because more people kept joining the line as it moved forward, so I felt like some people might end up not being able to line up again if they left and came back later. After waiting in line for about 20 minutes, I finally got to buy the tuna-packed roll (594 yen including tax). Most items have small fractions in the prices, so the checkout process takes a bit longer. I thought it might be easier for both customers and staff if they rounded up the prices instead of having these small fractions, but maybe the shop has its reasons for keeping it that way. There are about 8 seats on the right side of the shop where you can sit and eat. I sat there and enjoyed my meal. The amount of tuna and fatty tuna in the roll for this price is amazing! The taste was also really delicious.

On April 1st, Reiwa 5, Saturday, at 5:15 PM, I came to Tsukiji today. It's not for fun though. I have a delivery schedule at Harumi at 10 AM! So, I rushed to Tsukiji. The second stop was Marutomo, an onigiri (rice ball) shop. I looked around and bought takomeshi (octopus rice ball) for 218 yen + tax, salmon with wasabi for 218 yen + tax, and eel for 240 yen + tax, totaling 730 yen. Since it was still early after opening, they didn't have all the varieties available. I had the eel onigiri in the truck, and it had a mild and delicious taste! I plan to have the rest for lunch. Yummy! Thank you for the meal.

On regular days at Tsukiji Market, I underestimated it... I didn't expect it to be this crowded! There are also quite a few foreign tourists. Plenty of tuna roll for ¥594, a thick roll packed with tuna that has no fishy taste. The amount of tuna in the tuna roll lives up to its name. It's so satisfying with plenty of tuna that it makes you smile. There are also a variety of rice ball options that make you indecisive. The shrimp tempura rice ball (around ¥400) has a large, fluffy shrimp tempura gently wrapped. The shrimp is plump and firm. It's delicious with a hint of tempura sauce soaked in. Actually, when I arrived around 11 o'clock, they had sold out, so I gave up. But after looking around at other places and returning, they were restocked, so even if they are sold out, don't give up and try coming back. Payment is cash only.

Fox and Tanjo Shoten are nearby, located just off the main street of Arashio-bashi. Previously, you could take your time choosing your purchases, but now there is a long line. (Visited around 8 am on a weekday, with about 30-40 people in line.) Their specialty is the tuna-filled rolls! Almost all customers are buying them. There is more tuna than rice in them. The tuna is like a slightly fatty negitoro. Despite the price increase, they are still a bargain at around 500 yen. The popular onigiri with a soft-boiled egg inside is a hit. The seasoning of the egg and the creamy yolk make for a large onigiri that you can easily devour. Thank you for the meal.

Around 10 am on a Saturday, there were about 30 people lined up. The famous tuna-filled thick rolls were unfortunately sold out, but regular tuna rolls were still available! The regular tuna rolls were also filled with plenty of tuna and very satisfying.

I went on a regular day, but it was very crowded. I went around 10 am and it seemed like I could buy any item. By noon, the Tekka Maki had run out, so it's better to be careful. The Tekka Maki had a lot more tuna than rice, making it a satisfying dish.

When I researched about Tsukiji's gourmet food, it looked delicious so I decided to stop by. Since I was in Tsukiji, I wanted to eat some fish, so it was perfect. However, I had already been to a few other places before coming here, so I decided to get a set of 3 pieces instead of 6. Maybe I had set my expectations too high, but it was tasty, although when asked if I would come again, I felt indifferent. Perhaps because I had seen it in various media, my expectations were raised too high... A bit disappointing.

In Tsukiji area. When I arrived around 8:30 am, there were already about 6 people in line. I bought a bomb onigiri for 284 yen and a half tuna roll for 307 yen. Just as they were restocking the onigiri, more people started lining up, with about 10 more customers joining quickly. There were many foreign tourists, perhaps because it's popular in overseas travel guides or on social media. The tuna roll had a generous amount of tuna compared to the rice, making it more like a tuna roll. Even the half portion was quite filling. The famous bomb onigiri (Baku-Ten) had a whole half-cooked egg tempura inside, making it quite large. It's about 1.5 to 2 times the size of a convenience store onigiri. Just one of these onigiri can satisfy your hunger. The seasoning is a strong soy sauce base, with the onigiri itself tasting salty due to the salted rice. Outside of Tsukiji market, the number of foreign tourists seems to be increasing, so the lines might continue for a while. It would be nice if you could buy without having to wait in line. Thank you for the meal.

Maruto at Tsukiji in Tokyo. I bought ikura (345 yen) and buta miso (259 yen) onigiri. This popular shop outside of Tsukiji Market is known for creating long lines early in the morning. One of the main attractions is the maguro maki, which is sold starting around 7:30 am (time may vary). I only bought onigiri this time since I missed the timing for the maguro maki. The recommendations may vary depending on the person, as they have a wide variety of options. The buta miso was delicious, but the ikura had double the amount I expected and was incredibly tasty! ✨

An impressively large onigiri with a lot of impact in appearance. I chose this for lunch today. It's packed with volume and filled with plenty of ingredients! This time, I went with tarako and salmon. I wonder if I can finish it all! Although it looks like it's tightly packed, it's not too hard and has a nice fluffy texture. It was delicious.

I visited around 11:30 on a regular day \(^o^)/ It was a popular shop with a line, so it took about 20 minutes from lining up to purchasing (>_<) The exterior had a nostalgic atmosphere with lots of onigiri and rolls lined up in front of the store. ⚪︎ Tekka maki 486 yen. The appearance was full of volume from the start \(^o^)/ It was packed with tuna, and I was surprised by the amount (>_<) It comes with wasabi and soy sauce, so when you dip it in wasabi & soy sauce, it's delicious〜〜〜♪( ´θ`)ノ The fresh tuna spreads throughout your mouth like a wide ocean!? No, your mouth is filled with plenty of tuna and a smile of happiness overflows \(^o^)/ The taste of tuna, sweetness, soy sauce, and wasabi make it super delicious! Extremely delicious♪( ´θ`)ノ This is a definite revisit! It was an exquisite tekka maki \(^o^)/

I lined up for a long time and finally got to buy it, but the tuna roll was sold out right in front of me. God is always so cold to me, but it's okay. Surely, something good will happen. That's enough for me. So I chose the parent and child rice ball (I tend to choose salmon being from Hokkaido). They use good quality salmon and there was even salmon roe inside. I could tell that it's a good restaurant. Did you want to convey this to me, God? (I didn't really care though~)

When you think of Tsukiji, you think of seafood, tuna, and Sushizanmai. High-end restaurants with four or five digits everywhere. Well, if that's too expensive for you, I recommend "Maruto" here. Their giant and diverse selection of onigiri is highly recommended, but the real star is their Tuna Roll. The amount of tuna in it is insane! You can really feel like you're eating tuna. And the best part is, you get 6 pieces for just 486 yen. They also have a 3-piece option for 270 yen for those who like to eat on the go! Oh, and starting from January 30th, they will be increasing their prices a bit due to rising costs. It's expected to be around 80 yen more for a pack of 6. Still a great deal though. Just grateful for it! I hope they continue to thrive in Tsukiji for a long time.

This shop in Tsukiji is often seen on Instagram for its great value maguro (tuna) rolls. A pack of 6 rolls filled with plenty of tuna is only ¥480. No wonder there's always a line! The onigiri (rice balls) are also a good deal, with each one being large in size. If you want to get your hands on some maguro, you should go early!
