A hidden gem located underground on a trendy street heading towards Harajuku, about a 10-minute walk from Omotesando. This popular restaurant mainly focuses on fish dishes, offering a variety of ingredients and cooking styles to choose from. Everything I tried was delicious, but my favorites were the scallop sashimi and grilled fugu shirako. I also enjoyed the simmered golden eye snapper. They have a wide selection of sake, so if you come here, you won't have any trouble finding a good pairing for your drink. It was a place that I instantly fell in love with after a long time, thank you for the wonderful meal!

In front of the shrine, there is a wonderful restaurant called "Kogiku" where you can enjoy delicious fish and sake. The restaurant is run by a cool chef and his family, and they offer a variety of friendly and tasty dishes that make it hard to choose. The food is delicious, and the appetizers are also satisfying. The selection of sake, both cold and warm, is also impressive. It's a place you would want to visit regularly if it were in your neighborhood. Finally, we enjoyed the specialty dish, "Extra-large Tempura of Taisho Shrimp and Squid," which was delicious.

Three colleagues who love fish and sake gathered together. They enjoyed seasonal fish dishes with shochu and sake as usual. The sashimi included Alfonsino and Flounder (with fin), Blowfish milt grilled (soy sauce flavor), Splendid alfonsino head simmered, Yellowtail jaw cooked, Buttered oysters, Squid tempura, Potato salad with pickled scallions. Most dishes were priced at 500 yen or less, offering great value. The fact that they probably buy a whole fish and use the leftover parts for grilling or simmering for around 400 yen is impressive. The oysters are likely from Hiroshima, always fresh and large. It's a tough choice between frying and butter grilling them. I also struggle between tempura and frying for the squid, but I often choose tempura because I like to eat it with tempura dipping sauce. The Blowfish milt and other dishes, aside from sashimi, are usually grilled or fried, providing a wide range of options. This popular restaurant is one I would like to visit every month, or even every week.

I had a two-hour showdown with a business partner who loves fish and sake at this small shop. It's not a place to linger as it's often crowded with casual customers. We started with beer, moved on to sake, and had a bottle of shochu for 6,000 yen. The business partner was so impressed with the value that they made a reservation for the next visit (laughs). We ordered dishes based on the seasonal specials listed on the blackboard behind the counter, including sardines, bonito, spear squid, butter-grilled oysters, abalone butter grilled, grilled sea bream with shirako and soy sauce, and Matsumae pickles. We finished with a bowl of medium-fatty tuna. Although it's a bit far from the station, the prices are reasonable, making it a heavenly place for drinkers and fish lovers.

Although the restaurant focuses on fish dishes, they are known for their delicious potato salad. The mashed potatoes, salted cucumbers and carrots, and the balance of salt, pepper, and mayonnaise in the salad are exceptional. Many customers end up ordering it after seeing others do the same. I tried the salt-grilled salmon for the first time and it was a good size, well drained, and served hot. It paired perfectly with warm sake. The sashimi, fried dishes, and simmered dishes are also worth trying. Please refer to the photo captions for more details.

The unusual order this time was the squid fry that my companion desired. Our restaurant's potato salad and spinach salad are both delicious, but you can also choose to have both of these with your meal. My companion even added a horse mackerel fry just to have the salad. If they wanted salad, they could have just ordered it separately (laughs), but it was the right choice. Buttered oysters are a classic in the fall and winter. Large oysters are good to eat raw, but their flavor doubles when cooked. Lately, I always want to order the octopus tempura if it's available. It's delicious. On this day, we started with grilled mackerel with white miso and ended with yellowtail, along with beer, shochu, and sake. I would like to challenge coming here on a day when I fast in the morning and afternoon.

This is a hidden gem small restaurant that you might easily overlook while walking. The interior is filled with regular customers. The fish dishes were outstanding. The sashimi was so fresh and delicious, it felt like it came straight from the market, with a generous portion for only 500 yen. You can choose from various cooking methods like sashimi, simmered, salt-grilled, fried, and tempura. The prices are so cheap that you might think the portions are small, but be careful as ordering too much will leave you full quickly! The sake is all priced at 700 yen per serving with a wide variety available. The restaurant has 10 counter seats and 2 table seats, always crowded with regulars and reservations. If you arrive late, you won't be able to get in without a reservation. If I lived nearby, I would definitely be a regular here. It's hard to find a place in the city with this quality at such prices. Recommended for groups of 4 or fewer. Menu items we had on this day: Appetizer/Tuna/Octopus and Salmon Roe with Spicy Cod Roe Assorted Side Dishes Matsumae Pickles for 370 yen Ayu Tempura for 450 yen Grilled Kinmedai for 1,000 yen Sanma Sashimi for around 500 yen Chutoro/Akami/Sukimi/Toro Assorted Sashimi for around 1,500 yen [Opening Hours] 5:30 PM - 10:30 PM [Closed] Saturdays and Sundays [Reservation] Required [Budget] 3,000 yen and up [Address] B1F Villa Gloria, 2-31-7 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo

I occasionally try the popular fried horse mackerel. They use sashimi-grade horse mackerel, so it's plump and has a good aroma. The crispy coating is the best part. Their fried dishes (not limited to this) are delicious and popular. The white squid tempura is cooked just right, showcasing the skills of the landlady. On this day, I also ordered the fried young ayu, which was on the menu. It goes well with sake. I don't usually order it, but the tuna comes in medium fatty tuna, lean tuna (sometimes otoro, etc.), and other varieties that are just as solid as the other toppings, making everyone want to order it when they see the prices. From sashimi to simmered dishes, fried dishes, and grilled dishes, they have a wide variety, so I always leave Kogiku with a happy feeling.

On a cloudy day with occasional light rain on 7/19, I finished my errands in Midtown and was looking for a place to drink when I somehow ended up walking all the way to the area near Meiji Shrine. I stumbled upon an underground restaurant that had a cozy atmosphere, giving off a vibe of an izakaya. The menu mainly consisted of incredibly cheap seafood dishes, most of which were labeled with their place of origin. I was impressed. ☆ Drinks - Barley Highball - Oolong Highball ☆ Appetizer - Ikura (salmon roe) mixed with squid and mentaiko (spicy cod roe) - Matsumae pickles (pickled squid, kombu kelp, and shirasu) ☆ Main dishes - Katsuura kinmedai (golden eye snapper) sashimi - Ishikawa fugu (blowfish) shirako (milt) tempura The kinmedai sashimi was tender and had a texture similar to toro (fatty tuna), but without the oily sensation. It was served with freshly grated wasabi. The shirako tempura consisted of four pieces, with a creamy interior that melted in the mouth. It was served with salt and tempura dipping sauce. The pickled daikon radish was exceptionally well prepared. I didn't pair it with the shirako to fully savor its flavor.

The cost performance is top-notch. The hirame kelp-shime is perfectly infused with the flavor of kelp. The hata is well-aged and has a delightful sweetness. The shallow-shime mackerel should be out of season but it tastes delicious. The grilled horse mackerel with grated radish has a light soy sauce aroma and the white flesh is delightful. The fried dishes, such as the fried young ayu (sweetfish) with 5 pieces for 400 yen, are amazing. The octopus tempura has high-quality octopus and tastes great. The simmered fish always includes at least two types of hata head, which are leftovers from the sashimi preparation. The meal ends with a generous serving of pickles and mentaiko rice ball. It's huge! I feel like this is the first time I have ever eaten a meal at this restaurant.

How can they offer such affordable prices while being in this area? The group discussed that "if it's cheap and delicious, then there's no complaint," as they enjoyed delicious fish and left with full bellies. Instead of just that, they ended up singing loudly in the box karaoke to let off steam. The members of the Ham Cutlet Club are truly amazing. The quiet old man handles the knife, while his wife and daughter? work together to prepare and serve dishes other than sashimi, creating a cozy atmosphere in the small restaurant. Tonight's menu included bluefin tuna collar, striped jack, bonito sashimi, sardines, firefly squid with butter, whitebait in soy sauce, shirako grilled with soy sauce, young sweetfish tempura, golden threadfin bream head simmered, and red rockfish simmered. As for the drinks... I don't remember, thanks to the skilled member who kept recommending them.

If you come here, make sure you love fish and sake, so I always narrow down the group before making a reservation. Tonight, I ate as much as I wanted. The shiny sardines, the delicious flavor of the white-fleshed grouper, the fatty striped jack, homemade lightly pickled mackerel, and the red spotted grouper simmered in soy sauce are all very cheap at 600 yen. Also had simmered red sea bream head, medium fatty tuna bowl, salmon roe marinated in soy sauce, tempura squid, potato salad, spaghetti salad, and pickled herring. From bottled beer to shochu, and 4 types of sake in 8 servings.

The cost performance is still amazing! Normally, it would cost around 3,000 yen per person, but due to overeating and overdrinking, it ended up being double the usual amount (lol). Starting with the seasonal delicacy, fugu sashimi (which is around 400-500 yen), and of course, the winter yellowtail cannot be missed (around 430 yen, I think). The fried horse mackerel I ordered for the first time was also delicious and fluffy. Of course, they use sashimi-grade horse mackerel. It's also nice that you can choose between potato salad or macaroni salad as a side dish. The octopus tempura was also delicious, with a chewy and flavorful high-quality octopus. It reminds me of the octopus tempura from the Seto Inland Sea.

Invited by a friend for a first visit. It seems like a place that you wouldn't know about unless you work nearby or live in the area, with a diverse range of customers from elderly to stylish young people. The interior is not particularly spacious, but it has a cozy atmosphere. Personally, I was happy to see a TV in the restaurant. The food mainly focuses on seafood, and everything I tried was of high quality with no disappointments. I was very pleased to find a restaurant in Tokyo where I could enjoy a meal with peace of mind. I look forward to visiting frequently. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

For those who love seafood and enjoy drinking, a brief explanation should be enough. There's nothing to complain about. You can tell just by looking at the photos. Natural sashimi for almost under 500 yen. The quality is high, yet the price is amazing. It's hard to believe this price range in this location in Shibuya. And to top it off, they provide freshly grated wasabi and ginger as condiments, which is surprising. These days, there are few places that provide such service. From sashimi to grilled fish, simmered dishes, and fried dishes, they have a wide variety of options, and most of them are within a reasonable price range. The flavors are also relatively mild for the Kanto region, which personally makes me happy. They offer both cold and hot sake, at prices that drinking enthusiasts will appreciate. The place is small, with only 18 seats (10 at the counter and 2 small tables for 4), but it's worth it for this price range. It's almost impossible to get a seat without a reservation, so keep that in mind.

This is probably my umpteenth time using this place. Everything is just right! No, it's just right plus a little extra, I'm always satisfied. It's great to be able to eat fresh seasonal fish, and there are usually 2-3 cooking options available. The sashimi of cold yellowtail, butter-sautéed oysters, fried horse mackerel, boiled komatsuna, and potato salad are all delicious as usual. And the value for money is good too. It's my favorite place.

Located in the basement of a building further down Harajuku Street, this restaurant attracts a trendy crowd. The interior is cozy and welcoming, with a homey atmosphere. Despite having many regular customers, it doesn't feel exclusive. The fish served here is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. The homemade feel adds to its charm, making it a must-visit spot in the neighborhood. The variety of sake available is also impressive and affordable. If you look closely, you'll notice that Kagawa Ichifuku is located next door. I recently visited this area, and I'll share my review another time. It was a night in Harajuku where I wanted to feel a bit more stylish.

Local people always crowded a bar where you can eat delicious fish for around 500 yen, and it was very tasty! The menu is also very extensive, with so many options that you can't see them all.

I visited this local restaurant for the first time. It was amazing. As someone who is also involved in food, I can say with confidence that this place has great value for money. I think it's too cheap, but it must be the owner's intention. I hope this place continues to thrive. I will definitely visit again.
