I came to the shop looking for the early summer flavor of Mizuki. I really liked the brown sugar flavor so I came back for more. Today, I saw some unusual daifuku and decided to try them out. I bought both the melon and blueberry fruit daifuku, and they were both delicious. I usually don't like melon that much, but the combination of white bean paste and melon fruit was surprisingly tasty. I enjoyed a dessert time after dinner. It was delicious again today. Thank you for the meal.

Fuwamanju, Mizuki, and Wakaayu-natsu are all delicious snacks that I can't resist, especially for the Wakaayu. They are convenient to store, perfect for snacks, and the sweet bean paste filling is satisfying. The skin has ginger in it, adding a refreshing taste. The Fuwamanju is soft and fluffy, while the Mizuki has a slightly sweet aftertaste due to the black sugar in the dough. I made the right choice buying all of them this time. Since I finish work at the same time as the store closes, I will definitely come back during lunchtime when I have more time. Thank you for the delicious treats!

I visited the store today to get some kashiwa mochi. It might be my last time enjoying it this year, so I am grateful for the delicious treat. I also bought some strawberry daifuku, which seems to be a seasonal item and will probably be ending soon. I also purchased a small-sized an butter dorayaki, which had a good balance of red bean paste and butter. Everything was delicious as always. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

My late father used to eat this often because he thought it was delicious. I happened to pass by the shop and decided to go in since I wasn't in a hurry. I bought a daifuku, which has a refreshing aftertaste and isn't too sweet like Western sweets. You could eat as much as you want because it's not overwhelming. But remember, overeating is not good for your health, so be careful everyone! (^o^)/

Today I bought seasonal kashiwa mochi. I didn't have the courage to try the curry dorayaki, so I bought a summer-like lemon castella instead. Both were delicious. I think the kashiwa mochi season might end soon after Golden Week. Maybe it's time for a last taste before the long weekend? It was delicious again today. Thank you for the meal!

Strawberry Daifuku, Tiger-Stripe Grilled Seasonal Sweet Bean Paste (White Azuki), Kashiwa Mochi (with whole red bean paste, smooth red bean paste). I had tried them before and enjoyed the taste, so I visited the shop again this week as a reward. Kashiwa Mochi is so delicious. I always feel like I miss out on the cherry blossom season because it's always so busy, so I try to buy Kashiwa Mochi during this time to feel the seasonal vibe. The one I got this time was shiny and chewy, and the sweet red bean paste was delicious. I want to buy it again at least once. I also bought the Tiger-Stripe Grilled, made with white azuki beans, and the Strawberry Daifuku. I chilled them a bit at home and then had a bite. They were delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I want to eat kashiwamochi (smooth and coarse), apricot daifuku, and hojiro kuri manju during the season. There was also miso bean paste available, but I don't like miso bean paste so I bought the coarse and smooth ones. I also bought some other items. The daifuku is famous at this shop, and it was chewy and delicious. Just like sakuramochi, I want to eat it a few more times. The kashiwamochi has coarse bean paste wrapped in yomogi mochi, and the white one has smooth bean paste. Both were delicious. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal!

Today I had lunch near the shop, and on my way out, I stopped by to purchase some seasonal daifuku, including strawberry daifuku. I also bought some cherry blossom dango, yomogi mochi, and nuchimantou. The cherry blossom dango was a good choice as it was seasonal and delicious with its red, white, and green mochi and sweet bean paste. The yomogi mochi had a strong aroma of yomogi and was tasty. The nuchimantou had a rich flavor of black sugar and was also delicious. Overall, it was a satisfying and enjoyable experience. Thank you for the meal!

I have tried Kogome Daifuku before, but this time it was different from what I remembered. I thought it was just a regular Daifuku with sweet red bean paste, but it turned out to be a salted Daifuku. It made me realize that my memory was a bit fuzzy. The popular Kogome Daifuku was delicious as expected. I also tried the seasonal sweets like the baked tiger-shaped apple paste and the cherry blossom mochi, which were both delicious. The cherry blossom mochi had a thick skin but tasted homemade and was very tasty. The grass mochi was small but had a nice aroma of mugwort and went well with the sweet red bean paste. It was my favorite among the ones I bought. I think I will visit again to buy more since they are so good. I received a point card, so I will visit next time for seasonal Japanese sweets. Thank you for the delicious treats!

I found a sign for Hassaku Daifuku while walking home from work. I remembered the amazing taste of the Hassaku Daifuku I bought at tau, the antenna shop in Ginza, Hiroshima Prefecture, so I decided to go in. There were still a few left. It was 380 yen each, more than 1.5 times the price of the Daifuku I bought at tau. I had high hopes for the taste, so I bought three to take home. The result was that it was delicious, but not worth the price. Thank you for the meal. Used for takeout on February 3, 2023. Rating: 3.29

I visited this store in Akihabara because I heard that their Kogome Daifuku is famous. I bought Kogome Daifuku (mochi with red bean paste) for 270 yen and the store-exclusive Curry Dorayaki for 270 yen. They accept card payments as well as electronic money like Suica. The Kogome Daifuku had a slightly chewy texture with a strong mugwort scent in the mochi, and the red bean paste had a perfect level of sweetness, creating a well-balanced combination of mochi and red bean paste. The Curry Dorayaki can last for about 10 days and it contains a low-moisture curry paste and Fukujinzuke (pickles). It had a slightly sweet and salty taste with a hint of spiciness, making it quite an interesting flavor.

I bought a Kogome Daifuku. The biggest feature of this daifuku is its large size and dense mochi part. The red bean paste is smooth and not too overpowering. It has a short shelf life, indicating that real mochi is used without additives. Running a daifuku business is tough, but I'm grateful they continue to offer such quality products. The dorayaki has a chewy texture like steamed dough, and the red bean paste is sweet, which may be a matter of personal preference.

I visited the store near closing time. They had two types of daifuku, the regular type and the one with grass mochi, but the latter was already sold out and there was only one regular daifuku left. I bought the "Kogome Daifuku - Shiramochi, ¥260" which had an expiration date of that day. This means that they don't use any additives to keep the mochi soft. I ate it around 10 pm on the day of purchase, and it was still very soft. The thick, freshly made mochi had a strong presence, almost too good to be used in a daifuku. On the other hand, the grilled side didn't have as much presence and seemed to have been affected by the passage of time since it was made. The anko filling had a nice balance of sweetness. Overall, I would like to visit earlier next time to experience the even softer texture of the mochi and the savory grilled flavor.

Kogome Daifuku is famous, but they also offer a variety of other traditional Japanese sweets. They have fresh cream Daifuku, mandarin orange Daifuku, and sweet potato yokan. Their curry dishes are also popular. The Kogome Daifuku is larger than usual, with a smooth red bean paste filling. I prefer a stronger flavor, but overall it's a convenient place to buy traditional Japanese sweets.

There are over 40 wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) shops with the name "Okano" in Tokyo. The origin of this name dates back to the end of the Edo period, during the Keio era, when Okano Kizaemon founded a shop in Asakusa Komagata. The main shop, Okano Eizen, was established in 1890 and was one of five related shops that split off from the original Okano Eizen in Komagata. The current status of the main shop is unclear, as the official website is no longer available.
One of the shops, Takeryuan Okano, was founded in 1958 in Negishi. The founder, Taketa Takashi, trained at another Okano shop before starting his own. The shop has 10 locations in Tokyo and offers a special product called "Kogome Daifuku," which is available at various locations in the city. Each shop also has its own unique limited edition items, such as the "Tokyo Curry Dorayaki" and the "Tokyo Sanpo Michi," which are exclusive to the Akihabara branch. The curry dorayaki is a unique combination of curry filling and pickled vegetables inside a traditional dorayaki pancake, while the Kogome Daifuku is a delicious blend of white and brown rice mochi with sweet red bean paste.

Hello. I am the self-proclaimed Curry King. November 19th. As they say, when the Curry King walks, he encounters curry. Today, as I was walking towards a curry restaurant in Akihabara, my curry antenna was buzzing. Suddenly, I saw a traditional Japanese sweets shop called "Chikuryuan Okano." I carefully examined the entire shop and found something called Curry Dorayaki. It's a spicy filling with a sweet outer layer, creating a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. It's a unique and delicious treat that challenges your taste buds. The price is around 200 yen, making it a great option for those who find brain training games a bit expensive. The taste is intriguing, with the sweet outer layer and spicy curry filling gradually becoming addictive. It's like a curry bun wrapped in a fluffy and sweet dough. Definitely a curveball, but one that works perfectly. The Fukujin pickles inside add an interesting twist. I recommend giving it a try. The packaging features a maid character who represents Curry-chan. Moving on to the Mikan Daifuku, it's a traditional Japanese sweet with a whole Hiroshima-grown Setoda Mikan inside. The white bean paste surrounding the Mikan acts as a bridge between the mochi and the fruit. It's sweet, sour, and delicious. Definitely a unique treat that will surprise your taste buds. Chikuryuan Okano is known for its fruit daifuku, and the Mikan Daifuku is a winter limited-time product available until January 10th. In mid-January, they will introduce the popular Ichigo Daifuku. This traditional Japanese sweets shop offers a mix of classic and innovative treats, including sweets inspired by Amabie. It's a must-visit for those who enjoy traditional Japanese sweets with a twist. Don't miss out, especially if you love brain training games!

When I went to Akihabara, I was looking for some interesting sweets. I came across this unique traditional Japanese confectionery shop with an unexpected package design. I was curious about what kind of taste it would have, so I decided to buy it. I thought it would be sweet, but the red bean paste inside was actually curry-flavored. It had a strong curry scent, and even included bits of fukujinzuke (pickled vegetables). The outer layer was sweet, which surprisingly complemented the curry flavor well. It was an interesting taste experience!

I stopped in front of the shop. Strawberry daifuku❗ Come to think of it, I haven't eaten it this year... I entered the shop. It was displayed right in front of me. The expiration date was until the next day. But, eat it soon❗ I tried it at night. I cut it in half. It was full of strawberries❗ It felt like it was covered with rice cake and white bean paste. It was easy to eat with little moisture. The sweetness was also moderate, so I didn't get tired of eating it. It was a shop I happened to find, but it was very delicious. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again.

From the No.1 exit of Akihabara Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line, walk along Showa Street in the upper direction. After passing the second traffic light, you will find a shop at the corner of the second alley. This shop is quite famous for its daifuku and dorayaki, but what caught my eye was the "Curry Dorayaki" when I casually glanced at it from outside, so I decided to buy it out of curiosity. Of course, I also purchased the basic dorayaki. The "Curry Dorayaki" was available for individual purchase, but there was also a box set (5 pieces) for souvenirs, so I decided to buy the boxed set. When I cut the dorayaki in half, I found that it contained curry roux filling with fukujinzuke, and the attention to detail was quite impressive. The taste was mild in terms of spiciness, given that it is a traditional Japanese confectionery, but it had a hint of sweet curry flavor, which I found surprisingly good and could be a fun conversation piece as a souvenir. Above all, it's nice that it's from a long-established shop.

Today I had my annual health check-up at Mitsui Memorial Hospital. They told me to keep exercising and try to lose weight, as there have been no improvements or deteriorations in my health. On my way back home, I couldn't resist stopping by the traditional Japanese confectionery shop "Chikuryuan Okano" as usual (lol). This time, I bought some rice cake daifuku and a mini dorayaki with the "Reiwa" emblem on it. The "Kogome Daifuku," a specialty of this shop, is a daifuku made with high-quality rice from Negishi village in the Edo period.
