カルグクス
I went to Roppongi and Asakusa for drinks, and the next day, I was feeling tired from yesterday. It was nice to be invited by local friends for lunch. I had only tried Monjayaki once in the past and never had the opportunity to eat it alone. When I saw the invitation message, the name of the restaurant was "753"! It was a familiar place for a Japanese husband and a Korean wife family that my siblings and I always watch on YouTube. We had talked about wanting to go meet the landlady someday. It was a sudden coincidence that the landlady, who usually takes care of the teppanyaki, told me about it, and I was already filled with happiness. Monjayaki is often associated with downtown areas like Tsukishima, but there are many restaurants in Asakusa as well. 753 is close to Asakusa, but it's more like near Kappabashi. It's a very popular restaurant, and even for lunch, reservations are essential. The place was fully booked, and even though they didn't turn away walk-in customers, they suggested coming for the night service after the desired time. We ordered teppanyaki, three types of monjayaki, horumon yakisoba & udon, another monjayaki, and yakisoba (additional), and two types of okonomiyaki. The women in our group took the lead in deciding, and the men agreed, and we enjoyed the meal. The course was very satisfying, and everyone, being born and raised in Edo, was very happy. Oh, did we eat too much? No, we're just normal! Everything was delicious, but the green onion okonomiyaki was the best - super delicious! We took so many photos that we were told to take a video! When you see the whole process in front of you, it's impressive because amateurs like us can never cook as well. Despite the many similar teppanyaki and monjayaki restaurants, it's difficult to analyze why 753 is so popular. The three staff members rotated around the tables to cook, and there was no one who did a half-hearted job. To reach this level of professionalism, they must have had a lot of experience, and I think the landlady's guidance is excellent. This was only my second time eating monjayaki, so I may not be the best judge, but the atmosphere of the restaurant was similar, the ingredients for cooking were the same, and as a drinker, I was happy with the wide variety of alcohol available. And of course, the personality of the landlady was also a factor. Although the establishment is not that old, the motivation of the staff was very evident in the restaurant. Ah, it was really delicious! I thought I knew everything about Asakusa and even took a boat ride, but no, I still have a lot to be grateful for to my friends! Kalguksoo is sustained by the support of drinking companions. I would love to ask everyone again to revisit 753.
