I visited right at the opening time of 3:00 PM and the place was already bustling, despite it being a weekday afternoon. The portion size of the Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue) for one person was just right, and it was cheap and delicious. The cost performance of the Genghis Khan was surprisingly good. In addition, I also tried the liver, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), beef tendon ponzu, asparagus, and coriander salad, and all of them were worth more than their price. What's even more amazing is the service from the staff. It was a night and day difference from the typical indifferent service you get at foreign staffed barbecue restaurants. I had a very pleasant experience. This is truly a top-notch restaurant with explosive cost performance!

I stayed at Karumaru in Ikebukuro the night before a qualification exam, and had dinner at the popular yakiniku restaurant Kogumaya for the first time. I had made a reservation based on information that the restaurant gets crowded, so even though it was before 5 pm and I could have walked in, I chose to reserve a table in the middle instead of the counter since I was dining alone. I started off with a draft beer, which came with free cabbage dressing. I ordered the raw garlic tongue skewer, harami yukke skewer, and Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) with salt and miso. I had already read reviews and prepared for the experience, so while waiting for the meat to cook, I chopped the cabbage dressing finely like okonomiyaki. The Genghis Khan was delicious and affordable, and the raw garlic tongue skewer had a strong garlic flavor. The harami yukke was also delicious, cooked at a low temperature. I then ordered the unlimited loin & Koguma Kalbi, and the unlimited harami loin, wondering if the name meant you could eat unlimited amounts. With the cabbage dressing, it felt like you could eat endlessly. The cabbage dressing was a great accompaniment and made the yakiniku taste even better. It was great that the cabbage dressing was free. After enjoying all the meat, I ordered the Genghis Khan (salt) again. It was affordable, delicious, and a dish that makes you want more. It was a long time since I had such a meat feast and it was delicious. I stayed for about an hour, and by the time I left, the first floor was full. The phone for reservations kept ringing constantly. Next time, I want to bring friends and enjoy a lively meal together.

I love fresh kimchi, but it's hard to find a place that serves it well. The fresh kimchi here is exactly what I was looking for - crunchy and juicy, delicious! The tongue is marinated in sauce, making it very tasty. The liver with green onions is cooked at a low temperature, but it was a bit too gamey for my taste. It's interesting that they serve the BBQ sauce with cabbage - you can chop it finely yourself and eat it with the meat. The alcohol is served in a yakan (kettle) and you can drink plenty of it!

I visit Kogumaya about once a year. They serve oily hormone dishes piled high with cabbage, which are so delicious that they have been certified as the best hormone restaurant in Ikebukuro. You can casually enjoy beer and mixed hormones while waiting for the meat to arrive, snacking on cabbage and sipping on beer, followed by hormone dishes and highballs. Ah, the hot summer in Japan is blissful.

When it comes to Genghis Khan, it's a soul food from Hokkaido, and it's my soul food. However, this restaurant was a big discovery. I never imagined that there was a wonderful world of mixing shredded cabbage with Genghis Khan. On this extremely hot day, I waited for the opening of this restaurant that I had been wanting to try for a while, and finally entered! I placed my order and after a short wait... the meats that made my mouth water. And when I dipped them in the cabbage sauce and put them in my mouth along with the cabbage... it was incredibly delicious! No, it's addictive, yeah.

On Sunday afternoon at 12 o'clock, there were about 5 groups lined up at the store. I went right after opening and was seated immediately. The tongue sashimi, liver sashimi, and harami yukhoe were so delicious that I wanted to eat one plate per person. The cabbage appetizer was also interesting. I ate to my heart's content and it cost around 3,500 yen per person, so the cost performance is great.

Delicious taste! Great cost performance! Cute logo! Morning-ground leeks, famous Genghis Khan, fresh liver, grilled quail, bear kalbi, hormone assortment, quail with leek sauce, wasabi butter rice. Especially the fresh liver (grilled liver) was amazing, I want to order a double portion next time. I want to try the spicy version of Genghis Khan next time. I ordered everything with salt, so I want to incorporate miso-based dishes as well.

I was able to enter without a reservation at the last minute. I like the harami here because it's delicious. I ordered harami with salt and sauce, as well as loin and kalbi. I prefer drinking over eating, so I would be satisfied with nori and chanja. The prices for drinks, including highballs, are very reasonable. The place is always full of customers, especially young people. The staff are also very energetic. The bill usually comes out to around 3000 yen per person. I think it's a good restaurant with clear billing.

A very cheap hormone restaurant. It seems like you need to make a reservation to get in because it's usually full. The menu is priced around one coin. Even after drinking quite a bit, it only cost around 4,000 yen per person. It's a convenient place to eat!

On Saturday at 12:00 PM, I went drinking and eating around Ikebukuro West Exit. The izakaya "Fukuro" was full, so I walked around and found a yakiniku restaurant called "Kogumaya" nearby. When I opened the door, it was dimly lit and the staff were quietly preparing the meat, which made it a bit intimidating at first. However, the staff led me to the second floor where it was almost full and they were grilling meat with lots of smoke. The liver, hormone, Genghis Khan, raw tsukune - everything was cheap and delicious. I enjoyed the yakiniku with unlimited shredded cabbage and a lemon sour, it was amazing!

The meat was prepared using vacuum low-temperature cooking, ensuring safety and quality. For grilled dishes, we tried the famous Genghis Khan, assorted hormone platter, fresh liver, and harami, all at surprisingly affordable prices. One surprising aspect was the absence of sauce for the grilled meat, instead, we were served cabbage with a unique style of eating it together with the meat. This unconventional rule added to the charm of the restaurant, and we enjoyed the experience at this popular yakiniku spot.

Cheap and delicious yakiniku (horumon) restaurant, Kogumaya! The main store in the west side of the city opens from 3 pm. Today, the customer had fresh liver (sesame oil and salt) x2, assorted horumon (miso) x2, spicy and delicious jingisukan x2, large rice, and oolong tea. The fresh liver is a must-order for those who like internal organs. The assorted horumon was a pleasant surprise with the addition of diaphragm (harami). The spicy jingisukan was a bit too spicy and had a strong curry flavor, which was unexpected. The bill for today's meal was 3322 yen including tax and table charge.

A popular yakiniku restaurant located near the west exit police box of Ikebukuro Station. This was my second visit on a Saturday, and although they open at 12:00, people start lining up before then. There are both first and second floors, but if you have a group of about four people, it's better to make a reservation. The menu includes delicious meat skewers and lemon sour served in a pot for generous servings. Every dish is seasoned perfectly, but the highlight is the wasabi butter rice and grilled meat - a sinful combination that will make the rice disappear in no time. The wasabi potato salad is also quite tasty, with a hint of wasabi coming through later. I ended up spending quite a bit because I ate a lot, but looking at the menu, the prices are actually reasonable. If you're looking for a yakiniku restaurant in Ikebukuro, I highly recommend this place.

Whenever you go, it's always delicious! When it comes to yakiniku, Kogumaya is the best! Reservations are a must. The chances of getting a table on the same day are extremely low!! Make a reservation! I recommend the yuzu daikon! It's cheap so you can eat as much as you want, and the meat is cooked rare so you can almost eat it raw!

Second visit. I remembered it being affordable, with small portions making it easy to order and very delicious, so I made an early reservation based on that memory. The focus is on Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue) with also delicious yakiniku (Japanese BBQ)! The only mistake was the spiced Genghis Khan, which was not what I expected. It was my fault for not looking closely, but I still want to go again when I'm nearby!

I found it new to eat shredded cabbage and meat together. I got hooked on it. Everyone ordered Genghis Khan, so I ordered it last, but hmm... This one seems like it could be divisive in terms of taste. I wondered if this is how Genghis Khan is supposed to be. Anyway, there's no doubt that the cost performance was great.
