Tororo soba (hot) 630 yen Kakiage 250 yen ⇒ Use coupon for 0 yen The kakiage here is different from other stand-alone shops I don't think it goes well with mori soba, so this time I tried it with hot tororo soba Personally, I think it was the right choice

The mori bowl costs 430 yen, the tororo topping costs 200 yen, and the extra-large serving costs 150 yen. With the coupon, the total cost is 0 yen. This time, the coupon was for a free extra-large serving. When I ordered tororo topping before, it felt a bit lacking, but this time, the tororo portion seemed to be increased, which made me very happy. I prefer the mori bowl with tororo topping over the cold tororo dish.

Overtime continued, and unable to endure hunger until I got home... I went to Kinoya. 🔘Jalapeño Cold Soba Cold soba with spicy oil and sesame. You can adjust the amount of spicy oil by asking the staff. The noodles are well coated with the broth, creating a surprisingly flavorful dish. It's great when you're craving something spicy. Thank you for the meal.

Chilled tororo (grated yam) for 630 yen and squid tempura for 250 yen. I used a coupon so the squid tempura was free. I used a coupon I received last time. There is a coupon that changes depending on the day of the week, with squid tempura being free on Wednesdays and 550 yen wine being free on weekends. It's a really great deal!

I was tempted by the creative style of soba noodles, but decided to order the autumn set menu which featured soba noodles with shiitake mushrooms, a side of tempura shiitake mushrooms, and fried green onions. The soba noodles were similar to those found at standing soba noodle shops in train stations. The tempura shiitake mushrooms had a crispy coating that felt like I was eating oil, making me feel sorry for the mushrooms. By the time I finished the tempura and fried green onions, my mouth felt greasy. However, I enjoyed the refreshing soba broth at the end. Overall, it was a disappointing lunch experience.

After visiting the National Museum of Western Art in August 2023, I revisited this seated-style soba noodle restaurant near Ueno Station, near the Ueno Forest Sakura Terrace on the first floor for lunch after 5 years. I ordered the "Kakiage Tempura Mori" for 630 yen including tax, which has increased by 60 yen compared to 5 years ago. The buckwheat noodles made using the extrusion method were just average in taste, and I couldn't find the benefits of using 100% buckwheat. The originally cylindrical kakiage tempura was served in a scattered state due to being fried too much, which could be acceptable since it needs to be broken apart to eat, but it was disappointing to have a burnt smell. What's even more disappointing is that the cook who serves it in a state that is not the original form may lack pride as a chef. I also had some thin buckwheat broth served in a black lacquer soup bowl and completed my rutin supplement. Thank you for the meal. It's just full of disappointments.

Located right by Ueno Station, this place is always crowded with tourists but opens early. Since it's still hot out, I had the chilled tororo soba for 620 yen. While it mainly caters to tourists, this place offers great soba noodles at a reasonable price. It's a honest restaurant where you can enjoy a quick and delicious meal. Thank you for the meal.

✅No reservations allowed, so if it's available, it's okay ✅Solo dining is perfectly fine! ✅Unexpected combination of soba and wine Hello, it's Tomochin, enjoying solo gourmet travels. This time, I visited a stylish soba restaurant located on the 1st floor of Ueno no Mori Sakura Terrace in Ueno. Once again, I went alone!! But I could comfortably sit at the counter seat and enjoy my time. I ordered the large size of the Half Tendon Set. Half Tendon Set Large - Soba It's made from Hokkaido soba flour, but the fragrance is still subtle. It seems like good quality soba is not readily available in the market these days. The soba had a smooth and chewy texture, and even though it was a large portion, I finished it all in no time. The garnish of green onions had a nice aroma, and the soba broth was rich and flavorful. - Tempura Rice Bowl The tempura was crispy and delicious, in good condition. However, I felt that the sauce in the tempura rice bowl was a bit lacking and could use more flavor. It would have been better with a bit more sauce. Despite being a bit upscale, I thought it might be challenging for solo diners, but that was not the case at all. I had a pleasant dining experience at the counter! There were also many solo diners. I was happy with the large portion of the Half Tendon Set turning out to be satisfying soba! It's a place where you can easily drop by! #Soba #Ueno no Mori Sakura Terrace

Tokyo Ueno. I stopped by "Ueno no Mori Sakura Terrace" on the 1st floor before taking the train for a quick drink. This soba restaurant has a concept of "cool fresh soba, stylish wine". The specialty is "stylish wine" [3 Di Notte Vino Spumante Brut] (¥780 per glass). I enjoyed the bubbly wine in the "stylish wine" style. Interestingly, it is self-service! Pouring the wine without spilling and trying to keep the bubbles intact. The fine bubbles and fresh taste were delightful. I also tried the "Fried Tofu in Broth" (¥400), which was quickly served and had a well-marinated tofu. Perfect for hot weather. The "Fried Ginkgo Nuts with Yukari Salt" (¥450), "Tempura Asparagus" (¥590), and "Cold Soba" (¥430) were all reasonably priced for a standing soba restaurant. As hot days continue, I crave cold soba like the one I had, with plenty of cold dipping sauce. The combination of wine and soba was enjoyable. Payment is cash only (as of July 2023).

I came here for a drink but realized it's actually a soba restaurant, not a bar. It's more like a standing soba shop with chairs. The appetizers are not cost-effective and the menu is limited. The drink menu is also lacking. If you're looking to drink around here, I think it's better to go to a proper izakaya. Since it didn't meet my expectations, I rated it as average. However, the other customers seemed satisfied with their soba. I would like to revisit during lunchtime next time.

Tonight, I was feeling really hungry and decided to have dinner in Ueno on my way home. ⚫︎ The house wine was a generous pour and I got it for free by signing up for their newsletter. ⚫︎ The fried ginkgo nuts with yukari seasoning had a nice balance of flavors with a touch of saltiness. ⚫︎ The assorted tempura with 5 different vegetables was crispy and brought out the sweetness of each vegetable. The tempura dipping sauce had a strong dashi flavor and was better than the soba broth. ⚫︎ The zaru soba made with 100% Hokkaido Kitawase buckwheat had a nice aroma and a good balance of flavors, even though it was machine-made. I felt that the noodles could have been drained a bit more carefully to improve the balance with the dipping sauce. The broth had a nice bonito flavor, but I thought reducing the alcohol content to 0.1-0.05 would be better. They also served fried tofu with miso paste before the soba, but I thought offering soba inari would be a nice addition for those who choose the set menu or for those looking for a second round of drinks. Overall, considering it was machine-made soba in the Ueno area, it was consistently good. It's a great option when you're hungry and want something quick to eat, or when you want to finish the night with soba instead of ramen. The service from the staff was smooth and attentive. Thank you for the meal.

In Ueno, there is a wine and soba restaurant called "Kinogiyaya." Customers can pour their own white wine from a keg after receiving an explanation. The soba miso-yaki and the soba restaurant's grilled chicken soba were tasty, but the self-pour wine system didn't quite fit well. It felt awkward and inconvenient to handle the wine that way. It seems like without a more engaging concept, this type of establishment might struggle.

Today's second round took us to Ueno, where we stumbled upon a soba restaurant with a sign advertising wine. Unfortunately, we were already full so we couldn't try the food, but it looked delicious. The only downside was that they had a limited selection of appetizers and no cheese on the menu.

In front of Ueno Station, you can easily access the park's cultural facilities using the elevator at the back. It's a convenient spot if you want to grab a quick bite before visiting the art museum or other attractions. The place is always crowded with customers, but there are plenty of seats and the turnover is good, so you don't have to wait long to be seated. They seem to specialize in traditional buckwheat noodles, and although the fox (¥570) and raccoon dog (¥560) options are cute, the warm noodles don't have a strong buckwheat flavor. The noodles are thin, clean, and easy to eat. Next time, I'll try the plain soba noodles. Looking at the menu, there are other tempting dishes I'd like to try. I'll definitely come back. Just remember, they only accept cash for payment, so make sure to have some on hand.

Near Ueno station, there is a self-service soba restaurant. The main seating is at the counter, making it easy for even solo diners to enter. The restaurant was almost full around early afternoon, with many foreign tourists seen. I ordered the large portion of kakiage tempura, which I believe was around 750 yen. I paid at the register first and was given a number tag. When the order was ready, my number was called. The kakiage tempura was big with a satisfying crunch, yet surprisingly light. I made the right choice with the large portion of soba, as the regular size may not be filling enough for men. The soba itself was delicious. The soba broth wasn't too strong, so dipping generously was fine. Overall, I felt that the quality for this price was a good deal. Thank you for the meal.

Just a short walk from Ueno Station. The glass-walled interior looks beautiful at night with the lights. A stylish soba stand! Enjoy a quick bowl of soba in a casual setting. You can easily finish with wine and soba. @kinojiya_official. Unfortunately, the foie gras espuma I wanted is currently unavailable. I wanted to try the foie gras foam sauce... but they said there's no foie gras available. Oh well. Let's go with tempura. Mori soba ¥400, tempura ¥180, white wine. (You get a free glass if you sign up for their newsletter). It's a casual pit stop. It has a standing-eating vibe, but there are high chairs and sofas with seats available. I wasn't expecting much from the house white wine, but it was surprisingly good. They prepared it for me, and even poured it for me to carry to my seat. "Try a sip first before you take it," they said. Quite surreal, haha. It's a full-service self-service concept. Those who are used to it probably go get their own drinks quickly. I thought it was a wine bar, but they also have other alcohols, and those are brought to your seat. The soba is made with 100% buckwheat, but it lacked fragrance and the texture was a bit off. The dipping sauce had a unique taste but wasn't that great. The clear soba water that came with it was barely drinkable due to the taste. The tempura was crispy and delicious, with plenty of sakura shrimp. The service was surprisingly fast and a bit mysterious.

■Trigger: While walking with a friend, we found a soba restaurant. My friend loves soba. ■Time visited: Around 9 pm ■Seating: Table seating ■Ordered: White wine. They also have sparkling, rosé, and red wine. They serve it in a glass for sake. I ordered squid tempura and soba set. The soba was easy to eat normally. I forgot to take a picture... My friend ordered mixed tempura and 2.5 times the amount of soba. They said the tempura was delicious. ■Impression: It is close to Ueno Station, where you can enjoy wine, soba, and other snacks. The place has glass windows, so passersby can see inside... I would like to go again. Actually, I did go again lol ★Slightly quoted from the blog http://drive.wildmensdesign.com/

Visited after cherry blossom viewing in Ueno Park. The set meal for only 400 yen was surprisingly delicious for the price. Wine is also available for 500-600 yen, served in a stylish manner. It's convenient to be able to enjoy wine and soba noodles as a final stop after a night of drinking.

"Soba and wine shop in front of Ueno Station! Located on the first floor of Sakura Terrace near the station, this casual soba restaurant offers a simple and affordable menu. The cold soba with tempura costs only 590 yen, a great deal! The broth is light but the tempura is crispy and flavorful, soaking up the broth nicely. Don't forget to enjoy some wine as well, as they have a good selection on their wine list. Be sure to give it a try!"

Soba restaurant located on the first floor of "Ueno no Mori Sakura Terrace", just outside the Ueno Station Uguisunando exit. It has a standing soba noodle atmosphere, but you can also sit down and enjoy a leisurely drink. The specialty is the 100% buckwheat soba, but they also offer a variety of appetizers such as yakitori, deep-fried nagaimo, tempura, and dashimaki tamago, making it a great place for casual drinking, bar hopping, or a final stop. The 100% soba noodles range from 400 yen for mori soba to 400 yen for kake soba, and you can choose between cold or hot soba. They also offer a tendon set for rice dishes. There are various toppings available such as tanuki, kitsune, wakame, tororo, and tsukimi. The 100% soba noodles are surprisingly delicious for the price of 400 yen. If you consider soba as a drink, we recommend ordering the large portion (1.6 times) or special portion (2.5 times). The assorted tempura (5 kinds) for 520 yen is tasty and offers good value for money, including shrimp, squid, pumpkin, shishito pepper, and maitake mushrooms. The recommended yakitori at the restaurant honestly has a microwaved feel to it, and the sauce is quite sweet, not very delicious. Despite being a soba restaurant, they oddly promote wine, with a self-service style where you can pour wine from the bottles displayed next to the register, starting at 650 yen per glass for red, white, and sparkling wine. The restaurant has a beautiful interior, making it suitable for a date night.
