In the Hikawa area that I love! At "Restaurant Centro" in Forest Inn Showakan, you can enjoy a quiet environment and take a stroll in the beautiful garden to refresh yourself, so I come here for lunch a few times a year for special occasions. What I love the most is that you can enjoy the taste of Hotel Okura without going to the city center! Located in the Hotel Okura group's "Forest Inn Showakan" (if you have a One Harmony card, you can also receive their benefits). As a foodie, I sometimes feel like going to a hotel buffet. I have tried popular hotel buffets in the past, but I don't like the crowds in the city center... so my choice is a hotel buffet where I can relax in the Tama area. Once you pass through Tachikawa and come to Akishima, you can enjoy a hotel buffet in a quiet and calm environment. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, you can fully enjoy the reliable Hotel Okura service and taste! I always drive leisurely from Tama City. It is about a 40-50 minute drive one way along the Tama River, which is very pleasant. There is parking for 400 cars (free) so it is reassuring! The restaurant is a large, round space facing the garden and chapel. At the back is a barbecue corner. They also have BBQ in the garden, called Resort Garden BBQ. The view from the window is wonderful. Until the restaurant opens, you can relax on the lobby sofa while looking at the garden. Restaurant Centro is located on the right side of the lobby. "Restaurant Centro" How to enjoy with great coupons, reserve through Jalan's "Play & Experience" section. There are play & experience coupons available at times, so if you get them, you will get a discount when you make a reservation. My family of three always uses coupons ranging from 1,000 to 2,200 yen. I also accumulate points from Recruit Card (points that can be used on Jalan), so I always have a very affordable special meal on special occasions. [Lunch Buffet Weekdays] Adults 3,500- Seniors (65 and older) 3,100- Children (4-12 years old) 2,000- Sweets & Drinks to enjoy inside. This time, there was a new addition! The lobby window-side special seat is a cafe corner where you can enjoy sweets and drinks purchased at Centro. Set drink plus 300 yen, drink alone 400 yen, and you can buy cakes at Centro. There are always very elegant and delicious-looking cakes lined up. Some of these menu items are also available at the lunch dessert corner, so look forward to it! I visit the weekday lunch buffet several times a year. I stayed at Forest Inn Showakan and entered the restaurant around 7 am. The restaurant had a somewhat elegant atmosphere similar to Okura hotels. You could also order egg dishes, adding to the sense of formality. While the buffet may not have had a wide variety of options, it still had some nice touches, like ham and cheese in the salad corner. Having breakfast while overlooking the spacious garden was very calming, making you forget that you were in the city. The entire complex, including the restaurant in Forest Inn Showakan, is set for redevelopment by an investment company. Thank you for the meal.

During summer vacation, I go to play in the river at Akigawa Gorge, and I use Forest Inn Showakan as my accommodation near Akigawa Gorge. The hotel offers a barbecue service in the hotel's garden, which I reserved this time. It's a bit pricey, but the taste and atmosphere were great, and it's hands-free, so I think it's worth the price! I will definitely use it again in the future!

I stayed at Forest Inn Showakan for one night using a plan with baby goods included. Breakfast was at the restaurant on the first floor with a buffet offering a variety of Japanese and Western dishes. The lineup of bread was plentiful, and I had a berry-flavored bread. The service was good. The egg dishes were ordered and brought to the table, like most hotel buffets. Both my husband and I ordered cheese omelets. The omelets arrived beautifully presented and were fluffy and delicious. We enjoyed them without any condiments. In the midst of the daily struggles with my son's illness, these elegant moments feel like a dream. Yesterday, my father drove us to the hotel, and we were able to sit on the terrace with my father and son, enjoying the view of the garden. It was a refreshing experience for the soul. The cost of the stay was not overly expensive, and I would like to stay here regularly.

This is the main dining room at the Forest Inn Showakan, part of the Okura Group in March 2022. We chose this price range for the visitor price of 7750 yen, which includes dinner on weekends and holidays for 5250 yen plus a free drink for 2500 yen. We opted for the one-night, two-meal plan with a one drink at the bar included for a very reasonable price of 13250 yen. The highlights seemed to be the roast beef and crab. The roast beef was a bit disappointing, but the crab was surprisingly delicious. Personally, I enjoyed the "Clam and Taro Gratin," "Pizza," and "Pasta." Since it was a budget plan, I can't complain. I will skip the review of breakfast, but I was more satisfied and enjoyed it more than dinner.

On January 19, 2021, around 13:40, I made a reservation through the official website and visited the restaurant. The place was not crowded. I was able to get a last-minute reservation discount, so the weekday lunch buffet was reduced from 3,300 yen to 2,800 yen, which was a significant saving of 500 yen. I was a bit worried if the restaurant staff would recognize my last-minute booking, but when I provided my reservation time and name, they immediately showed me to my table, which put me at ease. - Winter Taste Fair: - Salad: Mostly frozen or canned items, Romesco was watery, marinated mushrooms had a canned taste, Caponata wasn't good. The vegetable dressing was tasty. - Roast Beef: Sliced in advance, tasty but a bit dry on the surface. - Rice Dishes: Root Vegetable Curry was decent, Tom Yum was too bland, pasta was good, and the pizza was tasty. - Main Dishes: White Fish Fry and Taro Fry seemed frozen, Pulled Pork was a bit too salty, but I liked the sweet and salty flavor. The highlight was the Gnocchi Gratin made with Hokkaido red potatoes, which had a unique and delicious texture. - Desserts: Honestly, nothing was really delicious, mostly frozen items. The buffet was supposed to be for 90 minutes, but with a 13:30 reservation and last order at 14:30, the food was removed by 14:30, so effectively it was only 60 minutes. Overall, the food was mediocre, nothing outstandingly delicious. The 2,800 yen price after discount felt like poor value considering the quality of the food. I also felt that with a 13:30 reservation, I should have received a lower price since it was essentially a 60-minute time limit. I wouldn't revisit this place. The buffet on weekends includes crab for 4,510 yen, but I don't think it's worth it based on the quality of the food. I believe there are two types of satisfying buffets: one with high-quality food, service, and price, and the other with decent food and service at a good price. This place didn't fit into either category for me. I remember having a delicious curry buffet at this hotel during my university days, but this visit was a bit disappointing.

My parents, husband, and brother's family came with a total of 5 people. This restaurant has been a favorite of mine for special occasions like my birthday. It was a Kyushu Fair when we visited. The standout dishes were: Roast Beef with Gravy Sauce, Beef Stew, and Miyazaki-style Chicken Nanban. I didn't try it, but the Nagasaki specialty, Sara Udon, was also delicious. For desserts, the highlights were: Flan (like a Creme Brulee) and Cassis Cake (with a hint of Cassis liqueur for a more mature taste). The atmosphere is nice, but it's important to note that it's a restaurant inside a hotel. It would be appreciated if they could implement a dress code and discourage guests from wearing T-shirts, shorts, and sandals.

This is the largest buffet-style restaurant in the area, with a well-maintained garden to enjoy while you dine. The price is 4,510 yen including soft drinks on weekends, and slightly cheaper on weekdays without the all-you-can-eat crab option. As someone who often visits Hokkaido, I have no interest in the crab served in Tokyo, but I still tried a piece. Setting the crab aside, all the other dishes were delicious. I tried almost all the dishes, including the sweets, which were also very tasty. The quality and seasoning of the ingredients were excellent, almost not like a buffet at all. If I had visited on a weekday, it would have been a 4+ rating. This is a popular spot, so I recommend making a reservation before visiting on weekends.

In the city of Akishima, we enjoyed drinking with friends under the still bright sky. After about an hour of drinking, the sky turned into a mysterious color and pattern like tropical fish. Looking around, I noticed that my friends' faces had the same color. When we ordered drinks from the waiter, they brought them to us. It was a bit strange that we had to serve ourselves water. SORACHI craft beer had a lemongrass-like aroma, with a spicy and bitter taste. The strong aroma might be the reason for that. The annoying humidity along with the typhoon had passed, making it the perfect conditions for the beer garden. It was a fun time. Now, shall we go to the second round?

The weekday price is 5900 yen (tax included) and the weekend price is 6900 yen (tax included). Both prices have increased by 200 yen compared to last year. I happened to visit on a Thursday and there was a live music performance going on. The restaurant was full, and we ended up sitting right behind the live performance area, which was a bit awkward. The staff seemed a bit lazy as they served us a pitcher of beer instead of individual drinks. Despite the price increase and slightly lower service quality, the live music performance made the experience neutral. The food was decent overall, with the standout dishes being the cold pumpkin potage soup, followed by Asahi Extra Cold beer, pudding, and assorted skewers. It would be better if they reduced the number of dishes and focused on making a few dishes more delicious. The Sapporo craft beer SORACHI was interesting and had a fragrant lemongrass aroma. I hope they consider replacing the least favorite beer with Black Label. Overall, it was a fun experience with ups and downs. Thank you for the meal.

Saturday lunch buffet, a bit on the pricier side. The service was great, and there were few customers, making it quiet and enjoyable. Although there weren't many dishes, the quality was high. The roast beef was one of the best I've had. I love peeling crab legs and eating them all at once. The dessert, Opera cake soaked in tea syrup, was incredibly delicious! I ate a lot! After the meal, taking a walk in the hotel's park was the best.

At the restaurant "Centro" in Forest Inn Showakan, there were a few cakes displayed at the entrance of the buffet-style restaurant. I love the small and delicious cakes here. On this day, I bought a strawberry shortcake and a fromage noir. The shortcake had a delicate sweetness of whipped cream that paired perfectly with the acidity of three types of berries. The fromage noir had a rich and tangy cheese cream topped with nuts coated in honey. It was delicious to eat with a fork or to pick out the nuts separately. Both the sweet nuts and cheese cream were tasty. Since they didn't have Mont Blanc that day, I want to come back again. Thank you for the meal.

I have been relying on Centro for over 20 years. Recently, after several years, my family and I visited for a lunch buffet, but to be honest, it was very disappointing. The first time we went, we all loved it and went regularly, but after not going for a while, when we visited a few years ago, we thought, "Was it always like this? Was it just a one-time thing?" This time, with high hopes, we revisited, but the quality had dropped significantly. There were few options, the grilled salmon was dry, the omelet was tough, and the croquettes seemed frozen and not tasty. The vegetables served with the curry were mushy and had a bad smell, and the curry itself smelled like canned food and had a cheap taste. Overall, it felt like everything was pre-made. The main roast beef was cheap and had a bad smell and texture. The crab we were looking forward to was empty and salty, with no taste. It seemed like cheap, immature crab with no flavor or meat. Even the children, who were looking forward to the buffet, hardly ate anything. The desserts were also disappointing, not even as good as cake buffet restaurants from franchises. Perhaps the impact of the coronavirus on staff wages and ingredient costs played a role. Although I have a strong attachment to the restaurant and did not want to give a bad review, I was very disappointed. It was crowded, but as long as they continue to offer that lunch buffet, I will not be going back, especially considering it is not a cheap option. I would not recommend it to others. I couldn't get in without a reservation last time because there were no empty seats. I've been wanting to visit again for a long time, and my wish finally came true today. My impression after visiting is that with buffets, don't you usually feel satisfied and think "I'm good now" when you leave? But with this place, I felt like I want to come back again! I enjoy going to various buffet restaurants, but I think this one ranks high. The rating on Tabelog today is 3.09, which seems low, right? I hope the rating will continue to improve.
