☆Revisited in January 2018☆ I visited this restaurant after a long time for a New Year's gathering. I didn't take many photos as it was a business dinner, but the food was still delicious as always! The seasonal cold appetizer platter with four varieties was excellent, especially the jellyfish salad and Cantonese BBQ pork. The jellyfish had a unique texture and the dim sum, especially the sticky rice dumplings and shrimp with special chili sauce, were delicious. The garlic sauce with three-layer pork and nine-section scallions was okay, but the vegetable stir-fried noodles had a generous portion and great texture. The almond jelly dessert was creamy and rich. We also ordered the cashew nut stir-fry, which was tasty, and the mapo tofu on egg rice was outstanding! The mapo tofu with a generous amount of Sichuan pepper on top of the egg rice was spicy but irresistible. Overall, the meal was satisfying, and I would recommend this restaurant for private gatherings, business dinners, or family meals. ☆Previous visit in October 2016☆ The lunch menu at this restaurant was also delicious. I opted for the crispy fried noodles course, which included steamed dim sum, Peking duck, and minced meat with aromatic spices, along with lychee tea. The Peking duck was crispy and flavorful, the dim sum was interesting and tasty, and the crispy fried noodles were delightful with a thick sauce. The lychee tea was surprisingly refreshing and fruity. Whether for lunch or dinner, this restaurant never disappoints, and I look forward to visiting again when craving Chinese cuisine. ☆Visit in February 2016☆ I heard good things about "Kamonka" from friends, so I decided to dine there with my mother and aunt. Although we had originally planned for three people, my aunt's son unexpectedly joined us, making it a party of four. When making the reservation, I requested that the dishes be less spicy due to the age of my companions. The staff called the day before to confirm and asked if reducing the spiciness would be suitable. This thoughtful gesture made me feel at ease. The cold appetizer platter was enjoyable, especially the jellyfish salad. The Shanghai soup dumplings were juicy and delicious. The sweet and sour pork with black vinegar, Ching Jao pork, and shrimp with chili sauce were all flavorful. We also ordered spring rolls and dumplings separately, which were a nice addition to the meal. Overall, the experience was delightful, and I appreciated the attention to detail in accommodating our preferences.

I stopped by here, which I had been curious about for a while. The atmosphere was calm and perfect. The customer service was smart and very good. I wanted to eat dim sum, so I ordered three large dumplings (I forgot to take a picture of them separately), four xiaolongbao, shrimp dim sum, deep blue almond tofu, and jasmine tea, which cost 4500 yen. It has a luxurious feel, so it's suitable for adult Chinese dining, but maybe not for everyday use. It might be more affordable and casual for lunch. It's a good place for dates or business entertaining.

Located in front of Ueno Station, this shop stands out with its flashy interior reminiscent of China. The spacious interior offers a variety of seating options. I ordered the set menu of tantanmen and mapo tofu. Despite the flashy decor, the flavors were not as bold as expected, leaving me somewhat unsatisfied. They even had panda-shaped dim sum, fitting for Ueno. Thank you for the meal.

After visiting Ueno Zoo and the National Museum of Nature and Science, this place nearby Ueno Station is easy to stop by. The spacious interior and attentive service make it a comfortable place even for families with children. I had a white beer this time. They kindly provided the toppings for children's shoyu soba in a separate dish, which turned out to be a great snack too. The gyoza lunch set was very filling, and I ended up with a full stomach. Another satisfying visit today.

This summer is extremely hot. Despite the heat, the distribution of the second edition of cut-paper goshuin at Senso-ji Temple has begun. I received a goshuin at the main hall of Senso-ji Temple, prayed at Gokokuin, and then visited Bentendo at Shinobazu Pond to admire the lotus flowers. I was surprised by the large number of tourists from overseas. Due to the heat, I thought I would be able to enter without waiting in line, so I went to Kamonka Ueno Bamboo Garden. The restaurant was crowded, but I was able to find a seat easily. Many people were drinking beer. The iced coffee and special soy sauce cold noodles with five ingredients were perfect for the hot summer. By the time I left the restaurant, there was a line forming outside. Ueno Station area was crowded with many people.

Around 1:30 pm on weekends, I ordered the Shark Fin Noodle Set for 1850 yen. The thick soy-based sauce with shark fin, mozuku seaweed, and vegetables goes well with the soft thin noodles. It has a mild and gentle flavor. There was quite a generous amount of shark fin, which was firm and had a satisfying texture. The set also includes a side dish, two steamed shrimp dumplings, and dessert, making it a very filling and great value lunch. Thank you for the meal!

This is Kamonka, once again. Always reliable and delicious. I tend to overeat because it's so good. Its location right by Ueno Station is a big plus. This time, I had the Shanghai-style yakisoba. It was rich in flavor and I finished it in no time.

It's been a while since I visited Kamonka. I was happy that the manager remembered me. Even though it had been a while, the food was delicious and reliable as always. I ended up eating too much because it was so good. The location near Ueno Station is very convenient.

If you're looking for a glamorous Chinese restaurant in Ueno, this is the place to go. The interior is lovely. The prices may feel high for Ueno, but compared to similar restaurants, I think it's reasonable. The mapo tofu has a real kick with the Sichuan pepper. Personally, I like the size, firmness, and texture of the tofu. It's also convenient to have a parking lot nearby, and they offer discounts.

I used this restaurant for dinner after watching ballet at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan with my daughter. We were in the mood for "gyoza" (dumplings), so we were originally planning to walk a bit to another restaurant, but we found this place on the way and decided to change plans because it looked stylish. We started with a toast of Weizenberg Meister (delicious♡) and pomegranate chu-hi. We ordered xiaolongbao, continental dumplings, seafood shumai, chewy grilled xiaolongbao, soup-filled grilled dumplings, and I added Rotenberg Meister. For dessert, we ordered pork shabu sesame cold noodles. The total bill was 7300 yen. The dim sum dishes all tasted freshly made and delicious. I wish the individual dishes were a bit cheaper or had a half-size option so we could try more variety.

JR Ueno Station, Yamashita Exit, 1 minute walk. We made a reservation for 3 people on April 26, 2023 (Wednesday) at 11:30 and visited the restaurant. The Chef's Selection appetizer platter that we reserved was outstanding, so we consulted with the branch manager and changed to the Chef's Special Course for the rest of the meal. We enjoyed beverages such as draft beer, plum wine, aged Shaoxing wine, and original Shaoxing wine "Kamonka" (aged 5 years). The meal included: - Chef's Selection Appetizer Platter: A meticulously prepared assortment of appetizers with a wide variety and vibrant colors. The sea urchin and Karasumi were particularly delicious. - Shark Fin Royale with Shanghai Crab Miso: A steamed egg dish topped with a rich shark fin sauce flavored with Shanghai crab miso. - Xiao Long Bao and Steamed Shrimp Dumplings: Dim sum expertly made with a light salt seasoning. - Peking Duck: Generous portions of tender duck meat with finely chopped scallions and a well-balanced flavor. - Steamed Giant Prawns with Garlic: Exceptionally large prawns with a rich shrimp miso sauce, offering a satisfying texture and sweetness. - Braised Wagyu Beef Cheeks in Red Wine and Shanghai Vinegar Sauce: Melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu beef with a colorful presentation of vegetables, paired well with Shaoxing wine. - Chongqing-style Mapo Tofu: A famous dish with a well-balanced and flavorful blend of spices, enjoyed with rice. - Chef's Recommended Dessert: Black sesame dumplings filled with black sesame paste and mango pudding with lychee-flavored syrup. I entered with a course with all-you-can-drink option. The interior of the restaurant was spacious and had a nice atmosphere. The taste of the dishes was generally average, and the portion size was small. The mapo tofu that I ordered additionally was delicious. It's a shame that it's not included in the course. The wines and Shaoxing wine were particularly delicious. It's recommended for when you want to enjoy a lot of alcohol while snacking on Chinese food.

Tonight, I ended up eating quite a lot at this restaurant, intending to have a light dinner. The hot and sour soup had just the right amount of sourness. The small but juicy xiaolongbao dumplings were delicious. The crispy yet meaty Peking duck was enjoyable, with the fatty meat tasting great. The mapo tofu wasn't as spicy or numbing as I had hoped, but I still liked it. The light and fluffy shrimp fried rice was also tasty. Overall, the food had a high-quality taste. I realized I forgot to order almond jelly (dessert) while enjoying the night cherry blossom viewing, but I was already full. What a shame. I'll have to come back for lunch next time.

This was my first opportunity to visit the exhibition of the treasures of Tohoku-ji Temple. The legendary painter Myochi's monumental work "Five Hundred Arhats" is on display for the first time after being repaired. I also visited the special exhibition "Buddhist Statues of Daian-ji Temple" at the main hall. Although the cherry blossoms have not bloomed yet, Ueno was crowded with people. At lunchtime, there was a line forming outside many restaurants. I decided to try my luck at Tohak Ueno Bamboo Garden, as I thought I could get in without waiting. The restaurant was busy, but I was seated promptly. I ordered the Five-Ingredient Ankake Yakisoba Set, which comes with a side dish and soup. I love yakisoba, so I couldn't resist ordering it. The crispy yakisoba noodles with the seafood and vegetable topping were delicious.

After returning from a hot spring trip, we decided to have a late lunch near Ueno Station and headed to Bamboo Garden. It was past 2 PM on a Monday, so we were worried about the order cutoff time and ended up going to Kamonka on the first floor. We ordered the five-ingredient yakisoba set, black vinegar sweet and sour pork set, continent-style fried dumplings, and added the option of large shrimp and white fish stir-fried in mayonnaise for an additional 500 yen. We also had steamed dumplings, jasmine tea, and almond jelly. My husband ordered a beer as well. The prices were a bit on the high side, but the portions were generous, especially the five-ingredient yakisoba which was enough for two people to share. The presentation was beautiful, and the friendly service made the meal enjoyable.

I visited the restaurant on Sunday at 5:30 PM. There was a luxurious light tunnel at the entrance, creating an extraordinary atmosphere. I ordered the shrimp chili, stir-fried water spinach with salt and garlic, and xiaolongbao (crab miso, normal). The shrimp in the shrimp chili had a large and firm texture, providing a satisfying bite. The xiaolongbao was served on a small spoon, allowing you to easily savor the rich broth bursting with flavor when you take a bite. The water spinach had just the right amount of salt and a hint of garlic, making it a delightful dish. I also ordered the cashew nut stir-fry and fried rice. The cashew nut stir-fry had a perfect balance of crunchy vegetables. As a nut lover, I couldn't stop eating it. The fried rice was well-cooked with a nice fluffy texture, and it was delicious. It was Chinese New Year that day, so I felt happy celebrating with delicious Chinese food. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I used to frequent Kamonka in Yokohama, but since it closed down, I visited Kamonka after a long time. I was surprised by how big the restaurant was. I ordered my favorite tantanmen, mapo don, continent-style dumplings, and sesame dumplings. The tantanmen, with its spicy flavor and nutty taste, was as delicious as ever. The mapo don was also tasty with its spicy seasoning. Surprisingly, the continent-style dumplings were very delicious, packed with fillings. It might be good to have it as a dumpling set meal with rice. The sesame dumplings for dessert were also exquisite. I would like to come back again. Thank you for the meal.

Meeting with old work colleagues, we reunited after a long time amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Of course, we took precautions against infection. It was a lively reunion, and we dove right into catching up. In our usual fashion, we got carried away and forgot to take pictures of the food, but the memories of how delicious and fun the meal was remain. We enjoyed soup, xiaolongbao, shumai, shrimp chili, shrimp mayo, and yakisoba. The food was delicious and we left with full stomachs. Ah, friends are the best!

I visited "Kamonka Ueno Bamboo Garden" for dinner, a Chinese restaurant. The restaurant has a stylish exterior and interior, but the seating is not particularly spacious. The prices are a bit higher than typical chain Chinese restaurants, and although we didn't drink alcohol, the bill came out to around 7,000 yen per person. I tried the pork and cucumber appetizer, herbal tea, shrimp mayo, soupless tantanmen, and soup and dessert. Both dishes were delicious. The shrimp mayo could use a bit more thought in the accompaniments. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

I used this restaurant for a year-end party. The banquet menu is different if you don't reserve online, as the number of dishes will be reduced. This is not mentioned on the Tabelog page, so if you call the restaurant to check for availability and make a reservation over the phone, be careful. You may end up with fewer dishes than you reserved. Even if the number of dishes is reduced, the price remains the same, so it's not worth the effort to call. If you have to make a reservation over the phone, I recommend confirming the menu.
