Located a 3-minute walk from Ueno Station on the JR lines, a 3-minute walk from Okachimachi Station on the JR Yamanote Line, a 1-minute walk from Ueno-Hirokoji Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, and a 3-minute walk from Yushima Station on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line, this Ueno-based long-established yakiniku restaurant with a 60-year history is a great choice for a business meal. The interior of the restaurant has been renovated and looks clean and stylish. Every type of meat we tried was truly delicious, but there are a few that left a lasting impression. The Negi-wrapped tongue with salt was visually appealing and had a refined taste when eaten with the green onion. The Upper Kalbi, including the fat, was rich and flavorful. The Harami (skirt steak) is my favorite cut, and it was incredibly tasty as well. Perhaps due to being a long-established yakiniku restaurant, the quality of the meat was outstanding. It was a very satisfying yakiniku experience.

I visited during lunchtime and ordered a la carte. It was a bit past 2 pm, a very awkward time, so I was worried if any restaurants were still open. But this place seems to be open all day. I ordered thick-cut premium salted tongue thinly sliced, premium harami, premium kalbi, garlic yakiniku, Sanriku wakame salad, premium loin, hormone, and kimchi. Unfortunately, the most expensive one I ordered was disappointing, it was chewy and felt cheap. However, all the other meats were delicious! They were tender, fatty but not too heavy. I also enjoyed the grilled vegetables and mushrooms that came with the meat dishes. The salad and kuppataan salt were also tasty. The seating was spacious and the atmosphere was nice, so I would like to visit again when I'm unsure where to have lunch at an odd time.

I felt like eating Negi-wrapped tongue, so I landed in Ueno Hirokoji for the first time. The Silky Yukhoe was surprisingly thick and not as thin as Kintan, allowing me to fully enjoy the flavors! I personally liked the sauce and would like to eat it again! As for the Negi-wrapped tongue that I had high expectations for, it was not as good as I had hoped. The Special Tongue Assortment was delicious! (Of course, with the seasoned Negi) Both the Silky Yukhoe and Negi-wrapped tongue are limited in quantity, but the staff said they have enough stock until late at night, haha. It was satisfying to enjoy yakiniku more cost-effectively than in Tokyo, and the interior of the restaurant was also beautiful.

Today I had lunch here with my colleagues. After finishing our errands, we decided to go around Ueno area. This area is known for its fierce competition among yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) restaurants, so it was hard to decide where to go. We chose a place with a calm atmosphere and were seated immediately without waiting. They had a variety of lunch menus ranging from 1,000 yen, all of which were reasonably priced. Since there were two of us, we ordered the voluminous lunch set with 260g of harami (skirt steak) and kalbi (short rib). The meat was thickly cut and very satisfying. The sauce had a bit of spiciness which went well with beer (I had hot oolong tea though). Honestly, I didn't have high expectations for the meat, but it turned out to be delicious with a good balance of fat and tenderness. The more you chew, the more you can taste the sweetness of the meat. It was a pleasant surprise for us. Our conversation flowed as we enjoyed the meal, but my stomach's capacity was reaching its limit, so we called it a day. Thank you for the meal!

Today's lunch was at the long-established restaurant, Daisho-en, in Ueno, known for its fierce competition in yakiniku (Japanese BBQ). This restaurant has been around since 1963 and is also the parent company of the well-known Kadokura in Ameyoko. It had been about 5 years since my last visit, and I noticed that the somewhat old exterior had been slightly renovated. Upon entering, I was surprised to see that the interior had been completely renovated into a high-end restaurant, with what seemed like couple seats at the counter. I ordered the lunch special set of kalbi and harami, totaling 340 grams for 2,930 yen. The kimchi and wakame soup served first. The kimchi was quite spicy, although the portion was rather small. The wakame soup was nothing special, just a normal tasting soup you would expect at a yakiniku restaurant. The main yakiniku plate arrived, overflowing with delicious-looking meat. I tried grilling the harami, and the fat melted, making the meat tender and juicy. The harmony of the meat and fat with the marinade was superb. The meat had a good thickness, allowing it to be crispy on the outside while remaining juicy inside. Next, I grilled the kalbi on the scorching hot iron plate and savored the juicy, flavorful meat. It had a wild and junky flavor compared to the harami, but still paired perfectly with the sauce. I quickly scooped up some white rice to enjoy with the meat. It was fantastic. I felt a greater sense of satisfaction compared to all-you-can-eat yakiniku. I finished two large servings of rice and reset my slightly heavy stomach with the set's iced coffee, which unfortunately was not delicious. If you want to eat cheap, plentiful, and delicious meat in Ueno, I highly recommend this place.

The lingering taste of the food while adding photos to my food log is amazing. The Silk Yukke is incredible, so soft that it melts in your mouth with a hint of sweetness, absolutely delicious. The Negi-wrapped Tan Shio is cute and delicious too! The Ultimate Mori allows you to enjoy small bites of deliciousness, keeping your mouth happy throughout. Finished with my favorite cold noodles, perfect for a hot summer day! The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere at the two-person table is especially good. It was a happy time.

Next to a yakiniku restaurant is another yakiniku restaurant. What a chaotic corner. Amidst it all, there is a particularly clean and refreshing facade. I had decided to go there since last week, thinking that I could eat delicious meat here. As I get older, I have a decent amount of money, but I can't eat as much, so I want to eat delicious food little by little with good service. The first thing I ordered was a thick cut assortment. It was thick and took a while to cook (laughs). Once it was cooked, I cut it with scissors. A bit of a hassle (laughs). The beef tongue and brisket look similar as they cook, so it's hard to tell which is which. The seating was comfortable, but all the non-beer items were cleared away while I was drinking, and the meat and service were just okay. Unfortunately, it didn't become my favorite restaurant. This yakiniku restaurant serves delicious single-item dishes. This time, I chose the Tegutan Udon! The noodles were translucent and chewy, very delicious. There is a yakiniku restaurant a short walk from Ueno Station. I ordered the Yukke for 1,850 yen, thick-cut liver for 1,500 yen, Harami for 1,700 yen, and Teppanyaki soup (half) for 600 yen. The interior of the restaurant is very clean! Especially the individual seating is luxurious with high chairs, allowing you to eat without worrying about the surroundings. I visited around 3 pm and was able to be seated without a reservation. The Yukke I ordered was delicious, and the thick-cut liver had no unpleasant smell and was tasty. The prices may not be cheap, but considering the quality of the meat and the ambiance, it's totally worth it. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

Some items on the menu were already sold out, so it's important to order early... a bit disappointing. The private rooms provided a high level of privacy which was nice. Recommended for those who want to eat in a calm environment. The expiration date of the Karashi tube that came with the cold noodles was about 3 weeks past. It's not a big deal at home, but in a restaurant, I would have appreciated if they had checked and served it fresh.
