The portion size was perfect for one person to enjoy.

There were many things that were not familiar to me, but my daughter was having a great time. At her request, we visited Itoen Tea House. I was surprised to see that Itoen also offers such things. We decided to try the matcha latte with chocolate cream on top and the shiratama zenzai. The prices were reasonable, similar to what you see at Starbucks or Godiva these days, but it was quite rare. The matcha latte turned out to be richer in matcha flavor than I expected, very authentic. The balance of sweetness and bitterness was good, and it was a very delicious cup. On the other hand, the shiratama zenzai was a nostalgic and good old-fashioned treat, which felt fresh to enjoy in such a stylish shop. Either way, we enjoyed our treats here. I found out when writing this on Tabelog, but they also have a shop at Haneda Airport's international terminal. I think it would be very popular with inbound travelers. Matcha and roasted green tea mixed soft serve ice cream. As expected from a tea shop, you can clearly taste and smell the flavors of matcha and roasted green tea in this soft serve. The texture is just right, not too sticky. It's so delicious that it would have been better to enjoy each flavor separately rather than mixed together. The price is 450 yen. The portion size is satisfying.

The items I requested were: Matcha Soft Serve Ice Cream for 480 yen, Hojicha Soft Serve Ice Cream for 480 yen, and Cold New Tea (Yutakamidori) for 330 yen. We shared them. The matcha was rich and delicious, but a bit too strong, haha. This kind of taste can be found elsewhere as well. The hojicha had a nice roasted flavor that was decently pronounced and was to my liking. The new tea was refreshing with a good balance of sweetness and umami, and it was delicious. Located on the first floor of Ariake Garden, I was feeling thirsty and looking for a place where I could get a takeout drink, so I chose this place because they had Hojicha Latte. I'm not a fan of matcha (too sweet for me). It was crowded, so it was a bit uncomfortable waiting for my order. Since it was a takeout, the soft serve started melting! I ended up eating it on a bench outside (TT). I tried to bring it to the hotel next door, but it was a bit of a challenge with the melting soft serve (lol). The Hojicha Latte was reasonably priced for the location and tasted good.

There were many reviews saying that the Itoen cafe in Aomi Garden is crowded on weekends, but on weekday evenings it was quiet and comfortable with few customers. However, the female staff were busy chatting and their conversations could be heard clearly in the quiet store. The atmosphere is nice and the food is decent, but if only the staff were a bit better... ^ ^;

After having dinner with two people at a Szechuan-style mapo tofu restaurant, we came here. Matcha soft serve for 550 yen and matcha soft serve with sweet red bean paste for 770 yen. Both were delicious, with the matcha being particularly tasty. The sweet red bean paste was not overly sweet, leaving a refreshing taste after eating.

Weekend shopping at Ariake Garden. This is a huge shopping mall in the waterfront area that opened last year. Unlike other shopping malls, the aisles are wide and the tenants are spaced out, making it a great place for a leisurely stroll on rainy days. Today, I walked over 6,000 steps while shopping. I took a break at "Saryo Itoen" on the 2nd floor of Ariake Garden. The 2nd floor has a high ceiling and an open feel with a central counter for ordering. I ordered anmitsu and tea this time. The anmitsu came in a luxurious red bowl with plenty of matcha ice cream in the center. The sweetness was just right and the ice cream was delicious. The red bean paste was not too sweet and tasted great. After finishing the anmitsu, I washed it down with tea, which was also satisfying. It was a short but relaxing break. Having cake and coffee is nice, but relaxing with anmitsu and tea is equally enjoyable.

Visited the cafe "Saryo Itoen Ariake Garden Store" located a 5-minute walk from Ariake Tennis no Mori Station. Arrived around 2:30 pm on a weekday and there was no wait. Ordered the Mixed Shiratama Azuki Soft Serve for 500 yen. It is a soft serve that combines matcha and black tea flavors. The cute-looking soft serve was served promptly. The soft serve was surprisingly rich, with strong matcha and black tea flavors that were delicious. The azuki beans had a moderate sweetness, and the smooth texture of the shiratama paired well with the soft serve, making it enjoyable until the last bite. I finished it in no time. Ariake Garden also has Hobson's, but this place is better!

Mixed Soft Serve Matcha & Hojicha ¥440 First, the sweetness comes through, followed by the aroma. I don't really taste the tea flavor or bitterness. The impression is that the hojicha aroma is stronger than the matcha. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back for this.

When you mix the zenzai and matcha and take a bite... it's quite impactful! The matcha is strong~. It contains a sufficient amount of matcha, reminiscent of thick tea used in tea ceremonies, and the perfect balance of the bitterness of the tea and the sweetness of the zenzai! The chewy shiratama is also delicious. A must-try for matcha lovers. And the price is satisfying too! By the way... there is a kettle in the center of the store, and you can see the staff brewing tea, but they were not following the proper etiquette for pouring and handling the hot water. If it's visible to customers, they might want to pay more attention to that. LOL. They also have thorough COVID-19 measures in place.
