Two months ago, I visited the Sun Plaza Nakano on the north side, and today I'm exploring the south side. It's about a 10-minute walk from Nakano Station. I found this place by chance and bookmarked it, but forgot about it until now! When I walked in, it felt like a nostalgic old-fashioned diner. The menu is extensive, just like a true old-fashioned diner! Today, I ordered the hamburger steak set that caught my eye in the photos. When it arrived, it was a nostalgic set meal with a small and tender teriyaki hamburger steak. It had finely chopped onions in it, which made it delicious. It also came with a side of Napolitan spaghetti made with thin noodles. The whole meal cost 800 yen including tax, and everything about this place is nostalgic! I've already decided to come back for more!

A historic set meal restaurant that was also selected for Kitashirane. The Kitashirane doll looked old, but the taste was reliable. When you place an order, the master quickly prepares the set meal for you. Today, I had the hamburger set meal for 800 yen, which came with a fried egg, and it was delicious. I think last time I had the ginger pork set meal. I hope this restaurant continues to operate energetically for a long time. I will definitely come back!

Pork tempura set meal for 1000 yen. The taste is average, a bit on the bland side. The menu is extensive, but I wonder if it's manageable for the elderly working alone. It has a somewhat dirty charm, but it's cleaner than expected. There are other aspects of the restaurant that are worth commenting on, so it might be interesting to visit for some laughs.

I found a restaurant in Nakano where I could have lunch. It was called Iga, and it was located south of the station. The place had a strong Showa era vibe, and the owner was running the place by himself. I sat at the counter and ordered the popular Hamburg set, but it was sold out, so I got the Fried Horse Mackerel set for 740 yen instead. The mackerel was breaded and fried after I ordered. After about 6-7 minutes, the food was ready. The set included fried mackerel, rice, miso soup, bean sprout salad, natto, and pickles. The rice was a large portion. With so many side dishes at this price, it felt like a good deal. The fried mackerel was crispy and delicious. I wanted to have a drink with my meal, but the sign said they prefer customers focus on eating during lunch hours. It's a small place with just the owner, so it's understandable. Unfortunately, you can't have a leisurely lunch drink here.

Nakano "Shokudo Iga" Hamburg set meal or "Kitanashuran⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎" Well, it's a retro-style diner. It's run by an old man, and the taste is suitable for those who have worked up a sweat in the morning. I settled for the usual MUTO Coffeeroastery Sumatra Mandheling with Gateau Chocolat. #ShokudoIga #Kitanashuran #Hamburgsetmeal #Nakano #diner #mutocoffeeroastery #SumatraMandheling #GateauChocolat

I visited the restaurant "Iga" in Nakano, which has a retro feel and offers classic Japanese meals. The owner, a man in his late 70s, runs the place single-handedly. The menu is displayed on the walls, and I tried the popular "Kitanatran☆☆☆" hamburger. The pork ginger and hamburger set meals were delicious, with a thick demi-glace sauce, fried egg, cabbage, pasta, and a nostalgic Showa-era taste. It's a great place to enjoy traditional Japanese flavors.

I visited Tsaino Shokudo in Nakano area as part of my Lonely Gourmet pilgrimage. Due to the pandemic, they are only open from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. I also visited Iga, a Showa-era diner recommended in the manga "Kitarashuran." I ordered the Hamburg steak set for 720 yen. The Hamburg steak, cooked after ordering, was so tender that it easily cut with chopsticks. Breaking the half-cooked fried egg and mixing it with the sauce on the rice made it very delicious. I also enjoyed the tofu and seaweed miso soup and pickles as a side dish. It was a delightful experience enjoying the nostalgic Showa-style Western food.

I had lunch at a restaurant featured on "Kinata Shuran" by Tunnels. The place is located about 10 minutes away from Nakano Station South Exit, heading towards the Kan-Nana direction on Shin-Okubo Street. The restaurant has a run-down interior, fitting its appearance on the show. I ordered the Hamburger Set Meal (720 yen) that was showcased on the show. The classic hamburger in a round shape was incredibly tender, easily falling apart with just a touch of chopsticks. The simple demi-glace sauce, similar to homemade, paired well with the hamburger and half-cooked sunny-side-up egg, making the rice go down smoothly. I give it one star. Thank you for the meal.

I've been curious about this restaurant for a while. It has a bit of a vintage feel and I wasn't sure if it was still in business, but the sign says it's open. They have a few set meal options and individual dishes, like the Hamburg steak set for 720 yen. The Hamburg steak was tender and didn't require much chewing, which was a new experience for me. You can still feel the texture of the onions in it. It's on the smaller side, but it might be worth trying occasionally, even though it's not the best value for money.

I visited alone at 13:22 on a regular day. It's nice to visit this kind of set meal restaurant. There were no other customers, so it felt like a private dining experience. I ordered the ham cutlet set meal for 700 yen with a little rice. The dish was served at 13:33. The crispy ham cutlet was good. A small serving of natto was also included as a bonus.

I recently visited a Showa era restaurant that was featured on TV. The exterior and interior had a nice Showa era vibe. The menu written on small strips of paper added to the charm. The restaurant has received 3 stars on Kitano Ashurando. It is run by an elderly male owner, and there were no other customers at the time. I ordered the hamburger steak set meal for 720 yen including tax. It was served in just 7 minutes. The hamburger steak was slightly small but well-cooked and topped with demi-glace sauce. It was incredibly tender, which was its distinctive feature. I believe it contained quite a bit of pork. The demi-glace sauce was rich and slightly sweet, which I enjoyed. I would rate it 3.5 stars. The set meal included a soft-boiled egg, spaghetti, and shredded cabbage as sides. It tasted even better when I dipped the yolk into the hamburger steak. The miso soup with tofu and seaweed was well-made and delicious. The portion of rice was a bit small. The side dishes were bean sprouts and pickled daikon radish. Overall, the hamburger steak set meal was a good value for 720 yen. Thank you for the meal!

The restaurant has been around for 50 years. The 75-year-old owner spoke with a smile as he shared his dreams. In this long-standing establishment, there is a value, philosophy, and life that goes beyond just dining out. I want to taste what is packed in there. I placed my order and simply ate. There is no way to evaluate it with a selfish measure, I just want to savor that one story. What I am paying for and eating is the person themselves. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious. Please stay healthy forever (^○^) I will visit again.

My son found a new place to live, and we were busy with moving and his graduation, so I didn't have a chance to visit a restaurant that caught my eye. My wife also mentioned, "Hey, there seems to be a delicious diner nearby." I had been thinking about checking it out when the opportunity arose. After the graduation ceremony, my son went to a drinking party with his research group. So, my wife and I decided to go eat somewhere. The closest restaurant to our apartment was "Shokudo Iga." When I looked it up on Tabelog, it turned out to be "Kitanashuran"! We must go there! It's only a 3-minute walk away. As we entered, even though we knew what to expect, we hesitated a bit. But I actually like this kind of place! The interior was a small counter and table seats. The inside of the restaurant was a bit dirty! But that's what makes it good! Check out the rest in the images.

The background music is digital terrestrial broadcasting. There is no air conditioning. I ordered the "chicken cutlet set meal". It is served after being cut with a knife and takes about 10 minutes. The coating is fried to a crispy texture. The tofu miso soup is gentle on the body.

We visited the restaurant on a holiday afternoon with a few people. It's a place run by an elderly man alone. There were no other customers. We each ordered a set meal for about 800 yen. It took a while for the food to be served because there was only one staff member. The taste was average for the price. It was nice to have the place to ourselves, but we were scolded for playing with the seasonings after finishing our meal. Overall, it was a good experience to feel the Showa era vibe. The beef ginger stir-fry was delicious.

After walking around Nakano, I was looking for a place to have lunch and ended up at a set meal restaurant called Iga. The owner was running the place by himself and there were no other customers. It took some time for our meals to be served due to the lack of staff. The taste was okay, giving off a nostalgic Showa era vibe. Personally, I enjoyed the beef ginger stir-fry, although I wished it had been served in a sukiyaki style for some reason.

The pork ginger stir-fry set meal with extra meat for 1200 yen was delicious. The owner seems very friendly and the food was comforting. The restaurant is not very clean, but for some reason, it feels cozy. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

The atmosphere was like stepping back in time to the Showa era. An older man was carefully making each dish one by one. It wasn't fast, but it wasn't slow either. I tried the beef ginger stir-fry, which was different from the usual pork ginger stir-fry. It was a new experience. I want to try making it at home.

When I went to the area around Nakano Station, I used this place for dinner. It is located a few minutes' walk from the south exit of Nakano Station, along Okubo Street. This is a popular restaurant that has been featured on TV before, with a Showa-era atmosphere inside and out, and both counter and table seating.
- Food/Taste
I ordered the hamburger steak set. It came with rice, side dishes, pickles, and the main hamburger steak. The hamburger steak was served with cabbage, spaghetti Napolitan, and a fried egg on top. It's a set meal that children would enjoy. The hamburger steak was tender and fell apart as soon as I took a bite. If you're looking for a more meaty texture, you might find it a bit lacking, but the gentle flavor is something that everyone would enjoy.
- Service
The owner was very friendly and provided excellent service.
- Conclusion
I would love to taste this handmade, lovingly prepared food again. Thank you for the meal.

The katsujuu (pork cutlet) set was 850 yen. The egg was nice and runny, which was great.
