When I saw the signboard, the staff guided me to the restaurant and I walked down the aisle with excitement. The smell of charcoal and a relaxed atmosphere made me feel comfortable. The Goya Champuru was amazing! The chicken neck skewers were also delicious and I couldn't stop eating. We had a great time chatting, laughing, and drinking. It was a wonderful experience. ✨

Next to a famous oden restaurant is another restaurant called Kintaro and Momotaro. Both seem to be under the same management. This is a precious shop that opens at 10 am on holidays, so I made a reservation. It took a bit of time, but all the dishes were delicious. The oyster gratin was incredibly tasty, I even considered getting seconds. However, smoking is allowed here, so it can be tough for non-smokers.

A former colleague came to visit, so we went out for drinks after work. Just be aware that the service can be slow late at night. The chicken nanban was delicious. Personally, I prefer the affiliated restaurant Momotaro over Kintaro. The outdoor seating area is also nice.

In Akabane, a fun place to drink from noon. In the 1st street, there are many places where you can drink during the day, and this place is very reasonable with generous portions of food. The chicken nanban I had that day had delicious tartar sauce, and it made me want to eat rice with it.

We visited the first bar in Akabane for a bar hopping experience with 4 people. We arrived around 12 o'clock, but the bar was crowded and full. We only ordered three dishes: firefly squid marinated in seawater, homemade rolled omelette, and hormone miso grilled. It took 30-40 minutes for the dishes to arrive. There was smoke inside the bar, possibly from grilling birds outside, and the power went out, leaving us in complete darkness.

After a kick, I went to Kanitaro for a drink to soothe my frustration, but ended up with a muscle strain due to the hustle and bustle. So, I drowned my sorrows at Akabane with "ketobashi," fresh oysters, grilled chicken, and black Kirishima shochu! With a Japanese-born Brazilian lady saying "hai!" while reflecting on my actions.

After leaving the main store of the restaurant "Koi to Unagi no Marumasu-ya," Akabane and his friends strolled through the shopping street for a bit. One of the friends went into a supermarket to do some shopping while the other two enjoyed the atmosphere of Akabane by exploring the alleyways of the shopping street. They reunited and wandered in search of the next bar without any specific plans. They entered a shop where a young woman was grilling skewers on a grill. The entrance of the shop was covered with transparent vinyl sheets, allowing them to see inside. The shop manager came out and recommended their services. They decided to stay there as the manager seemed friendly. They ordered drinks first - a large "Royal Tea Highball" for one, a large "Green Tea Highball" for another, and a "Shochu Highball" for the third friend who didn't drink. They ordered dishes they liked one by one - "Horse Sashimi," "Tempura," and "Sweet Potato Tempura." The charcoal-grilled chicken skewers at other tables looked delicious, but they didn't feel the need to order more. The Royal Tea Highball had a faint sweet smell of tea, enhancing the dining experience. They enjoyed the drinks, but the large glasses were a bit tiring to hold. The semi-transparent vinyl sheets allowed them to casually observe people passing by in the alley. The shop was crowded, but the atmosphere was lively yet not too noisy. Their conversation gradually became more animated as they connected with each other. They had planned to leave by 4:30 p.m., and the time was ticking. They found themselves snacking on edamame without realizing it. They sprinkled salt on the seasonal vegetable tempura, cut it with chopsticks, and enjoyed the crispy texture. They quickly finished the dishes and settled the bill, then parted ways at Akabane Station. They planned to set up another gathering for the New Year. The narrator transferred to a train in Shinjuku and sat down, eventually falling asleep. They woke up just in time to get off at the last stop.

"Kintaro" is located a 3-minute walk from Akabane Station North Exit, just off the drinking street in Akabane. I ended up following the catchers because they were genuinely nice people. I usually don't follow catchers, but this time the people were nice. I used this restaurant as my second stop in Akabane. It was late at night and hard to find, so I asked a staff member for directions and ended up at this izakaya. The staff were all lively and the atmosphere in the restaurant was vibrant. The food was delicious and the fact that it was open late was convenient. The drink prices were normal (if not on the cheaper side), but since there are many inexpensive restaurants in Akabane, it may feel relatively expensive to some customers - but that's just being a bit picky on the customer's part. Sorry! I was probably drunk because all the photos of the food turned out blurry and unusable...

Recently, Red Feather is hot! I decided to have a daytime drink, so I ventured into the mysterious alley near the east exit and went to Kintaro. I was surprised to see that a beer costs 450 yen! It's not as cheap as I imagined, but since I was there, I decided to have two beers with ham cutlets and skewers as snacks. I was slightly disappointed because I was looking for Senbero, but the staff was friendly and they are taking good measures against COVID-19, so you can drink there with peace of mind.

Near Maruken Suisan, famous for oden, there is an izakaya. Two drunk people called out to me in Akabane while I was drinking in Ikebukuro in the evening. When we met up, the two of them were already very drunk... They caused some trouble at the first bar, so I thought we should just go home, but they insisted on wanting to drink Maruken Suisan's dashi cocktail. However, Maruken Suisan was already closed. With no way out, I brought the two unruly drunks to this place where we had been just 20 days ago during the daytime. The first floor is almost like an outdoor shop with the door wide open. Although it looks like a single-story shop, the restrooms are on the second and third floors (the second floor has a Japanese-style toilet). The second floor has a calm, semi-private seating area, while the third floor has darts and seems to be available for private parties. Despite having already drunk a lot, we cheered with large beer mugs. We had the following dishes: - Appetizer (peanuts) ¥?? - Spicy potatoes ¥420 - Potato, mentaiko, and cheese bake ¥690 - Shio ramen ¥700 - Pork and ginger stir-fry rice bowl ¥700 One of the drunkards suddenly said he wanted to eat noodles at a nearby knife-cut noodle shop, but I found it too troublesome, so I ordered the shio ramen here for him to eat. The drunkards happily ate the food. We ended up staying at this restaurant for 3 hours. However, these two very drunk individuals... they caused a lot of mischief and were really entertaining. They made me laugh and cry, and despite making plans for the next time, they barely remembered anything the next day. The casual atmosphere combined with the fact that it's called a dining establishment means that the food is quite delicious. I like the open and relaxed vibe of this place, so I will definitely go back. Thank you for the meal!

I called up Ap-chan and kept drinking from daytime. When I checked LINE later, I was so drunk that I didn't tell Ap-chan where Nanaga-chan was, so Ap-chan was confused. She brought me to a seat where I could smoke because I asked. She sent me the URL of the place, but of course, I forgot it. Cheers with a highball! The things I had were: something like gratin that I don't remember, tonkotsu ramen that I couldn't twirl properly, potatoes, and a salad with pork shabu-shabu. I only remember eating this. It was supposed to be delicious. Then an incident occurred! Ap-chan, I'm sorry. Thank you for the meal!

I drank at the first bar for about 2 hours and then switched to a second bar. By this time, we were having a great time with our usual jokes, like sticking manga Big Comic Spirits on our thesis, or swapping out a math test for an engineering student. It's so fun at a university in Tokyo that's not Tokyo University, with all the idiots from Aoyama and delicious food like eel and ginger in Yanaka. Ah, the daytime drinking in Akabane is still going strong!

I was wandering around looking for a third place to drink, and I stumbled upon a cozy bar tucked away in a back alley. I sat down and ordered another highball, along with grilled chicken skewers (seseri, harami), Tanaka ginger, edamame, and more. Surprisingly, the chicken skewers were quite tender and delicious! It's a great place to drop in without a reservation. Thank you for the meal!

Just a 2-minute walk from Akabane Station East Exit. It's located right near a standing bar specializing in oden. The restaurant has three floors, each with a slightly different atmosphere. I started with a refreshing beer and tried the chicken tataki first. They also have liver teppanyaki, with liver that is so fresh it's almost on the edge. Another dish that got me hooked was a pouch-like isobe-age filled with fluffy yam and natto. You dip it in the sauce they provide, and the texture is crispy and fluffy. It's so delicious that it could be enough on its own (laughs).

This is an izakaya located about a 5-minute walk from Akabane Station. It seems to have about three floors, and this time we were seated at a table on the second floor. It's a typical izakaya with a casual atmosphere. I thought the speed at which the food was served and the taste of the dishes were quite good for an izakaya. I particularly enjoyed the chiri-tori hot pot. It was a generous portion for two people, not too spicy and easy to eat. It's served with an egg on the side, which helps reduce the spiciness and enhances the flavor. The other dishes were also delicious. Unfortunately, they seemed confident in their dishes finished on charcoal, but the charcoal ran out so we couldn't try them. I would like to try them if I have the chance. By the way, the toilet on the second floor was a Japanese-style one. The toilet on the third floor is unknown.

Finally, the week has ended. Today, I vented with my boss again. We couldn't get into the usual izakaya (we went there yesterday, so it's fine) and ended up wandering around until we stumbled upon this place. They had all kinds of dishes like deep-fried, grilled, and stir-fried. It was an unexpected hidden gem.

I went to Akabane for day drinking. I had 2 draft beers, edamame as a starter, ham cutlet, grilled chicken skin, and cartilage. I thought it wouldn't cost more than 2000 yen, but ended up paying around 2500 yen! Did I eat something else? Are edamame expensive? I thought Akabane was cheap, but it was unexpectedly pricey. I was quite drunk when I visited, so I don't remember much, but the liver was delicious!! It was recommended by the restaurant, so I tried the liver. It was half-cooked and very tasty. Eating it with raw garlic was amazing. So delicious! (^^♪

I stopped by after work! They are open late at night with friendly staff. The 2nd floor has private-like seating, and the 3rd floor has karaoke and darts. Each floor has a different atmosphere, which is interesting. The food is also delicious. Definitely worth a visit! ✌️🍴
