I had Chinese afternoon tea on the 4th floor of Shinagawa Prince Hotel. It was my first time trying Chinese afternoon tea, and I was impressed by the beautiful presentation of the dim sum. The variety was rich, with warm and baked pastries, shrimp shumai, spring rolls, and more. They even used high-quality ingredients like shark fin and abalone in the appetizers. Everything was delicious and the portions were quite generous.
Here is the menu I had today:
Chinese Afternoon Tea - 6000 yen
Appetizer: Shark fin and caviar jelly cocktail
Starter: Seafood spring rolls with black truffle oyster sauce dressing
Warm dish: Spicy soft shell crab, honey mayonnaise prawns, spare ribs with honey black vinegar sauce, braised abalone with black bean flavor
Soup: Collagen steamed soup with shark fin and shiitake mushrooms
Dim sum: Har gow, BBQ pork pie, spring roll, radish cake with XO sauce, shark fin dumplings, flower-shaped shumai, crab roe shrimp dumplings
Main course: Tomato noodles with lemon cold soba
Dessert: Hedgehog-shaped fried dim sum, egg tart, seasonal pie, almond tofu with fruits, Chinese-style parfait with carbonated soda
My favorite was the hedgehog-shaped fried dim sum. It had a crispy and fragrant outer layer with a sweet cream filling inside. It was delicious and satisfying. The Chinese-style parfait with carbonated soda at the end was also amazing. The mango pudding at the bottom paired surprisingly well with the carbonation, and the jelly ice cubes in the glass added an interesting texture. The staff provided excellent service, and I had a blissful afternoon.

I always wanted to visit this restaurant! I was spoiled for choice with the dishes that showcased the ingredients beautifully. The dishes using shark fin and the dim sum were all delicious, making for a luxurious moment. The luxurious and satisfying afternoon tea in the lovely interior made me feel special. I would love to go again!

The "Chinese Afternoon Tea Set" that started at Shinagawa Prince Hotel in July is amazing! It includes a luxurious Chinese full course meal with delicacies like shark fin and caviar, meat, and seafood dishes. The dim sum and desserts served on a Chinese-style decorative shelf are so cute that it's hard to decide where to start. Here is the menu:
- Cocktail of shark fin and caviar on hot jelly
- Fresh spring rolls with seafood in leaf wrapping
- Spicy soft shell crab stir-fry
- Honey mayonnaise prawns
- Spare ribs with honey black vinegar sauce
- Braised abalone with black bean flavor
- Collagen-infused steamed soup with shark fin and flower shiitake mushrooms
- Various dim sum items
- Tomato noodles with lemon chilled soba
- Hedgehog-shaped fried dim sum
- Egg tart
- Seasonal pie
- Almond jelly with fruit
- Chinese-style parfait with carbonation
- Frozen top oolong tea
It was a delicious meal!

We made a reservation for two at noon on Sunday and visited the restaurant for the first time. It is located on the 4th floor of the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Main Tower, very close to Shinagawa Station. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, stylish, and chic. When we arrived at noon, there were only a few customers, but it gradually became almost full. It is evident that this is a popular place. We reserved the Chinese Afternoon Tea for 6780 yen. Although it is an afternoon tea, the dishes were quite substantial, giving the impression of a full lunch course. The flavors were all very delicious. The luxurious touch of having shark fin and caviar from the beginning adds to the high-end feel. The dim sum and desserts were also excellent and tasty. The joy of being able to taste a variety of dishes little by little was delightful. The food was delicious, and the service was of high hotel quality, leaving us very satisfied. We definitely want to visit again.

This is a Chinese restaurant located inside the Shinagawa Prince Hotel. Both the food and service are impeccable. It has a luxurious feel, but in a good way that doesn't make you feel intimidated. They bring drinks quickly and pay attention to every detail.

After the Golden Week in 2023, on a Sunday, I visited a nice Chinese restaurant near Shinagawa Station. It was located on a floor that can only be accessed by the hotel elevator, which had a somewhat complicated system. I didn't have a reservation, but it quickly became full shortly after I arrived. The seafood was delicious, especially the prawns. The texture of the squid in the Anka sauce was also good. I like beef with green peppers, but the beef version was a bit salty. The dumplings were round and had a unique taste. There were many families dining, and the restaurant felt authentic with its easy-to-use turntable. The service was excellent. I might come back if the opportunity arises. Thank you for the meal!

Judging from the surroundings, it seems that most people staying at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel are either staying overnight or gathering with family and relatives. The food, atmosphere, and decor are a bit old-fashioned, so it may not be suitable for young couples on a date or celebrating an anniversary. The shark fin soup had a slight fishy smell, and the Shanghai crab rice at the end of the meal was lacking in ingredients and flavor, making it seem bland. Overall, we left feeling full.

This is a Chinese restaurant on the 4th floor of Shinagawa Prince Hotel that had been closed during the pandemic, but they have reopened on certain days of the week. I visited after a long time and ordered the delicious Five-Ingredient Ankake Yakisoba and Shark Fin Soup that I had enjoyed before. The Shark Fin Soup had a slightly small amount of shark fin, but the flavor was rich and tasty. The Ankake Yakisoba had a variety of ingredients, each prepared with care, which is a unique feature of hotel Chinese cuisine. Thank you for the meal!

Late April 2022 revisit and still delicious! "Shinagawa Daihanten" on the 4th floor of Shinagawa Prince Main Tower. You can enjoy delicious Chinese cuisine without being bound by genre. Noteworthy are the tender meatballs and shark fin steamed soup. The hearty shark fin, of course, the meatballs and clear soup with a deep flavor, and the refreshing scent of Sichuan pepper that makes you want to keep drinking forever. The large shrimp stir-fried with morning chili peppers, which have a round shape like dried tomatoes, are spicy when you bite into them. A drool-inducing beef salad with a light spiciness from Sichuan pepper sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed the spiciness and umami flavor up to the finishing mapo tofu. A quick meal, thank you for the feast! Great fortune.

In late September 2020, I visited a restaurant for the first time and enjoyed authentic Chinese cuisine featuring the autumn delicacy, matsutake mushrooms. The restaurant, Shinagawa Daiken, is located on the 4th floor of the main tower of the Hoshino Hotel. The decor is elegant with a red color scheme, creating a calm atmosphere. The appetizer platter was beautifully presented with dishes like Peking duck and char siu, each offering delicate flavors. The highlight was the shark fin stewed in Shaoxing wine with matsutake mushrooms, which was incredibly delicious. The mapo tofu, cooked in a clay pot with high-quality oil, had a perfect balance of spiciness and umami that was truly satisfying. The matsutake mushroom-infused shark fin soup and the Shanghai crab fried rice were luxurious dishes that complemented each other perfectly. The fried rice even had crispy bits that added a delightful texture. This meal, made with seasonal ingredients, gave me a boost of energy. It was a true feast – thank you for the delicious meal!

It's been a while since I had authentic Chinese food! The restaurant at Shinagawa Prince Hotel was quite crowded even though I arrived after 5:30 pm. Today, I opted for the course menu with all-you-can-drink option and enjoyed drinking without worrying. The steamed chicken appetizer was surprisingly moist, and the shark fin soup was packed with ingredients! The shrimp dumplings had a nice texture, and the scallops with sauce were delicious. The prawns were very satisfying, and the almond jelly dessert was so smooth that I wanted to take some home. I will definitely visit again soon. Thank you for the meal!

I visited for a celebratory lunch with my parents. I was a bit skeptical due to the not-so-high ratings, but I found a weekend special offer of all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink for 5000 yen with unlimited time, so I was grateful for that. Adding the all-you-can-drink option was a good choice as drinks at hotels tend to be expensive. I was so focused on eating that I forgot to take photos, but the quality of the food and the service were both great, and my family was happy. The shrimp chili was delicious, we ordered it multiple times! I will definitely come back for another celebration. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

On May 11th, relatives from Hokkaido, Kanagawa, Nagano, Saitama, and Chiba gathered for a celebration of a family member's 88th birthday. We toasted with medium-sized draft beers, which were delicious with their fine bubbles, but cost over 1,000 yen per glass. The restaurant is located on the 4th floor of the Shinagawa Prince Hotel, right in front of JR Shinagawa Station, which contributes to the higher prices of the drinks. The large dumplings were seasoned in the filling so they could be eaten as they were. The spring rolls were crispy on the outside and hot with a touch of Worcestershire sauce. The shark fin soup was luxurious with crab meat in it. The sweet and sour pork came in two types - one with black vinegar and the other with traditional sweet vinegar, with the black vinegar type being the favorite. It had a slightly strong acidity but was refreshing to eat. The classic dishes of Chinese cuisine, such as sweet and sour pork and beef oyster stir-fry, were strongly seasoned and complemented well with alcohol. The five-flavored fried rice was cooked Cantonese-style with a light seasoning and fluffy texture. The shrimp chili dish used Black Tiger shrimp with a firm texture and large size. For dessert, we were served Chinese steamed buns filled with a delicate mixture of white bean paste and custard, providing an elegant sweetness. The almond jelly dessert was modern with a soft and creamy texture, topped with dragon fruit, strawberries, and blueberries. The banquet for 18 relatives was a pleasant and enjoyable gathering where we could relax and have a good time.

The special menu of stir-fried beef fillet with oyster sauce was delicious with tender meat, but it was a one-time only option. I also ordered squid in green onion soy sauce and tapioca coconut milk, but after trying about 20 dishes, there was nothing else I wanted to reorder. The Peking duck I was looking forward to was cold and the meat was not crispy, disappointing me. I shouldn't have ordered so much at once. It seemed like they had prepared it in advance and stored it in the refrigerator. The shark fin soup was like enoki mushroom miso soup, with no shark fin in sight. Both the crab claw fry and shrimp tempura were made with fish paste and the oil didn't suit them. I got full from these fried dishes and couldn't continue. There were mainly groups of women, the restaurant was almost full and lively. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. The dishes came in bite-sized portions, allowing each person to order what they liked without feeling obligated to share, which was nice for group dining. The service staff were kind and serious, making the experience stress-free. The veteran staff member even gave tips on how to order, which was appreciated. I had high expectations for the all-you-can-eat Peking duck buffet at this price (¥3,700 including tax through Ikyu), but it's important not to expect too much considering the price.

About a month ago, I had a birthday party at the "Shinagawa Daishokan" (^-^)/ The restaurant is located inside the Shinagawa Prince Hotel and even though I arrived about 10 minutes before opening, they let me in and even served me beer before they officially opened. I had reserved a course which included all-you-can-drink alcohol (^-^)/ The hotel has a banquet hall, so they had a wide variety of alcohol options available. While enjoying my beer, the appetizers arrived. As someone who usually eats at regular Chinese restaurants, I found the flavors to be elegant and refined. The soup, Peking duck, shrimp stir-fry, and other dishes were all delicious. The hotel's recipes are solid, so the taste was consistently good. I enjoyed beer, whiskey, shochu, and ended with Shaoxing wine. I also had xiaolongbao, meat dishes, and yakisoba, which left me feeling satisfied and full. I may have had a bit too much to drink in the end, but it was a great meal. Thank you for the feast! ===========

The quality is not what you would expect from a hotel restaurant. It is so poor that you might think the all-you-can-eat option for 2,980 yen in Yokohama's Chinatown is better. The service staff's quality is also low, with several staff members providing unfriendly and unprofessional service. I was surprised by their attitude. I now understand why this restaurant has such low ratings on the dining reservation website. If you are expecting a high-quality hotel Chinese restaurant like the Dynasty at the Hilton or the China Room at the Hyatt, you will be sorely disappointed. Choose your restaurant carefully.

We used it for lunch on Respect for the Aged Day. It seems like everyone was enjoying courses or afternoon tea. Since you can also order individual items, we chose noodles. In the end, we were glad we didn't go for the course menu (^^) It was nice to be able to have a leisurely meal inside the hotel.
