Apple announced that it will hold its annual special event at its headquarters in Cupertino, California on the 12th of next month at 10:00 a.m. local time, and has sent invitations to the press. Hi there! I'm thinking of upgrading my Apple Watch this year. This is Takumon. Today, I visited "Fukushoan" for lunch. The atmosphere is really nice, just like a traditional soba restaurant. The prices have changed since my last visit. I tried their summer limited menu for record-keeping purposes. Today, I had the "Cold Miso Chuka" for 1,100 yen. It seems to be a limited menu from around May to September. It took about 20 minutes to prepare after ordering. It was full of ingredients and came with mustard. The taste was like a mix of miso and noodle soup. The noodles were Chinese-style and the dish was served lukewarm, not cold. The portion size was just right, but it might be a bit small for men. Well, I think it's enough. I love this convenient and popular soba restaurant in Daikanyama. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal. This was Takumon. Cheers!

I visited during the daytime on a regular day. This soba restaurant in Daikanyama has a nice, sophisticated atmosphere. I arrived just before 2 p.m. and it was quite crowded, but I managed to get a seat. I ordered a set meal with katsu-don and zaru soba. The soba was light and easy to eat, and the katsu-don was really good. It was delicious.

Located in Daikanyama, this restaurant offers reasonably priced dishes. I ordered the yakitori rice bowl and soba set. The soba noodles were quite white, giving the impression that they were not made with much buckwheat flour. The yakitori rice bowl was delicious. It's one of the few soba restaurants in Daikanyama, so it can get crowded quickly even when it seems empty. It's better to visit during earlier hours.

The atmosphere of this place exudes a sense of tradition, with a calm and serene ambiance. It's surprising to find such a tranquil spot right in the heart of Daikanyama. The wooden tables, some made from a single slab, add a sense of weightiness. There are about four large tables that can seat around ten people each, as well as four smaller tables for four people. The "Ume Oroshi Soba" costs just over 1000 yen. The soba noodles were almost pure white and had a beautiful texture, with a satisfying chewiness. The flavor was also very delicious.

Located just a short walk from Daikanyama Station, this soba restaurant also offers udon and katsudon on their menu. I visited "Fukushoan" on a Sunday evening. The restaurant is closed on Saturdays and open for lunch and dinner on other days. It seems to get crowded during weekday lunch hours. I visited around 6 pm on Sunday, and the place was not too busy. The interior of the restaurant has a nostalgic Showa era vibe, which adds to the charm. The menu is quite extensive, with a variety of soba, udon, and rice bowl dishes that all look delicious. This time, I ordered the nabeyaki udon with tempura. I don't usually have nabeyaki udon, but it was delicious. The udon was cooked to perfection in a hot pot, and the tempura added a great flavor. I will definitely be coming back here. It feels like a nostalgic trip without having to leave Daikanyama.

I visited for lunch on Sunday. I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered the cold tempura soba. The tempura was excellent, but the soba was more like cold buckwheat noodles, which I didn't prefer. I think the soba here would be better served warm. Next time, I will go for a set meal.

A popular long-established soba and udon restaurant near Daikanyama Station. It has been in business for over 70 years in this area. The retro atmosphere stands out in the trendy streets of the neighborhood. Alongside traditional diners, it is a comforting spot for Showa-era gourmet in Daikanyama. Conveniently open on Sundays. It tends to be busy during lunchtime, but relatively quiet in the evenings. The spacious seating inside allows for a relaxed dining experience. Many people enjoy a drink here as well. There is a large communal table, creating a welcoming atmosphere for solo diners. - Katsudon Set (1100 yen) with choice of soba or udon, hot or cold. The noodles and broth are homemade. Personally, I recommend the katsudon. On a cold day, I recommend trying the cold soba set. Among the katsudon dishes at soba restaurants in Ebisu and Daikanyama, this one is quite to my liking. It has a rich sauce typical of Tokyo's long-established restaurants, with a crunchy texture from the onions. While the quality of the meat alone may not be as good as a tonkatsu restaurant, for some reason the katsudon at soba restaurants is delicious. Perhaps the back and forth between the soba and katsudon creates a synergistic effect. The soba is a white color, similar to shirasu. It is nicely chilled and well-prepared. The toppings include finely sliced kamaboko, adding a nostalgic touch. Both the soba and broth are homemade, offering a traditional flavor. It is a satisfying meal with generous portions! The friendly owner adds to the cozy atmosphere. If you're tired of having café food in Daikanyama, be sure to visit this place.

Today is the Doll's Festival, which falls on March 3rd in the old calendar, equivalent to early March to mid-April in the current calendar. It is known as the Peach Festival because it is the season when peach blossoms bloom in the spring. I love eating peaches, but I don't think I've ever seen peach blossoms before. Now, let's talk about today's restaurant review. Today's pick is Fukushoan, located about a 4-minute walk from Daikanyama Station in Tokyo. It's tucked away off Hachiman Street, in a spot with good airflow and sunlight, where a delicious soba restaurant awaits. I visited during lunchtime on a weekday, without any prior information, just stumbled upon it while exploring. The interior has a nostalgic Showa era feel, making you feel like you've traveled back in time. It's cozy and clean, with a TV in the corner. It's a unique blend of nostalgia that doesn't quite fit the typical Daikanyama vibe. The place was almost full during lunchtime, with some customers waiting. Clearly a popular spot. The food display outside also adds to the nostalgic vibe, almost feeling like a Hinamatsuri display. The atmosphere and extensive menu options make it a favorite spot for me. Today, I ordered the Eel Bowl Set (with a large serving of soba) for 1300 yen. The set menu offers a variety of choices between soba and udon, with the option to add a large serving for an extra 100 yen. The dish arrived in about 10 minutes. It had a good portion size. The soba was nice and easy to eat, with a homemade feel to it. The color was pale, but the taste was decent. I should have asked about the soba percentage. The homemade broth was quite tasty, matching my preferences. Moving on to the eel bowl, it wasn't particularly large but was plump and aromatic. The first bite was delicious, with a generous amount of sauce on the rice. However, the rice seemed a bit small and soft, which was a bit disappointing since rice is important. The side pickles were a nice touch. I finished off with some soba broth. Overall, I'm excited to have found another great soba restaurant. It has a nostalgic charm and a calming atmosphere. The service was also pleasant. The neighboring customer's Nabe Yaki Udon looked tempting, so I'll definitely be back to try more dishes. Thank you for the meal. It's TakuMon signing off. Cheers!

Tired of eating too much during the New Year's festivities. I feel like having something gentle... maybe some soba noodles would be good. Oh, that natto rice bowl looks delicious. I'll have that set. Oh, they have winter limited edition porridge! I'll go with the mushroom one. It's generous in portion and has a gentle flavor. This is great. The soba noodles here are more like cold noodles than udon due to the high wheat flour content. Not many people prefer this type, so none of the regular customers are eating it. It's that kind of place.

Curry rice bowl set (with warm soba) for 1000 yen, tempura rice bowl set (with warm soba) for 1200 yen (for a companion). The soba broth was made with dried ingredients, and the noodles were thin and straight. The tempura rice bowl set included tempura crumbs, fish cake, yuzu peel, and a side dish of white leek. The curry rice bowl consisted of rice, curry sauce, 4 slices of pork loin, finely chopped white leek, and onions, with a side dish of cabbage and pickles. The restaurant has been around for over 70 years and has a traditional atmosphere. The soba noodles were small but tasty, with a flavorful soy sauce-based broth. The curry rice bowl had a unique black appearance and a thick sauce with a blend of soba broth and curry. The dish was slightly salty but delicious, with generous portions of pork loin and vegetables. Overall, the restaurant had a cozy ambiance and a variety of menu options, making it a great place for a casual meal.

Thank you for your patience. This is Chappy Jinbo. I would like to ask for a favor. The restaurant Fukushoan is located at 15-7 Daikanyama-cho, Shibuya-ku. The phone number is 03-3461-6535. The nearest station is Daikanyama Station. This time, I visited during lunchtime. I chose the Sukiyaki Donburi from the menu, which costs 950 yen. This time, I opted for the single dish instead of a set menu. Sukiyaki Donburi, also known as Sukidon, is a traditional soba restaurant in the Daikanyama area, which is quite rare. The Sukiyaki Donburi was decent, with just the right amount of flavor and the egg adding a nice touch. Personally, I found the sauce to be a bit too much. That's all for now. See you again.

One of the few soba restaurants in Daikanyama. I went here because my usual spot, Asahiya, was closed. On Sundays, it's filled with familiar faces from the neighborhood. The casual atmosphere with local conversations is calming. However, the flavors are quite strong, typical of Kansai style. Even though I've been living in Tokyo for a while, I still can't get used to the dark tsuyu. They mentioned that they've started serving hiyashi chuka, so I'll try that next time.

A soba restaurant in Daikanyama that offers soba bowls and soba noodles as their main menu items. During a late lunch hour, when I opened the door, the place was crowded with people, showing its popularity. Since it was cold today, I decided to try the warm tempura soba. The tempura included one shrimp tempura and three types of vegetable tempura, such as eggplant and green pepper. The tempura soba cost 900 yen. The soba noodles were thick and the broth had a strong bonito flavor, which was delicious. Finding a place in Daikanyama where you can eat for under 1000 yen is rare, so this is a place worth remembering.

The soba restaurant in the street is quite calming. The atmosphere is not intimidating, making it easy to enter, and on a cold day, warm soba sounds great and seems good for the body. So, I found a soba restaurant tucked away in a quiet area near a trendy tower apartment in Daikanyama and decided to try it for lunch. I thought it would be quiet since it was past 1:30 p.m., but to my surprise, it was "full"! The place was spacious, with almost 40 customers. There wasn't a specific lunch menu, just individual items or sets. I ordered the "grilled eel bowl and warm soba set" for ¥1100. The eel was of good quality considering the price, and the soba was slightly thicker and soft, with a mild taste. The broth was delicious. Next time, I might try the pork cutlet bowl set or tempura. It was a cozy, local soba restaurant where everyone could relax during lunchtime. It was a satisfying meal.

"Daikanyama gives off the impression of a stylish town, but there's also a soba shop here. For me, it's a valuable place where I can stop by without feeling intimidated. It's quite spacious, with tatami seating at the back. During lunchtime, it's almost always full. So, it seems like everyone has their go-to places where they feel comfortable. The menu is extensive, with mini rice bowls available, catering to big eaters like me. Now, let me share my thoughts on the dishes I've tried: - Gomoku Soba: A generous portion with chicken included. The soba noodles have a great texture and mouthfeel. - Fried Curry Soba (¥800): The curry sauce is thick, almost like it's mixed with water and starch. This menu item is unique and probably only available here. - Cold Nameko Oroshi Soba: Served with wasabi and pickled ginger, both adding a nice kick to the dish. The soba noodles here are long, making it a bit challenging to slurp them all at once! - Katsu Don Set (with warm soba): It comes with pickles, and the katsu and egg topping are just right. The classic set menu like this one is comforting and enjoyable. Lastly, here's a list of the takeout menu. I'm not sure how it differs from the dine-in menu, but it seems like they offer full service even for takeout. Fantastic!" - From the blog 'Haraheri * Tenki'

Soba restaurant located behind Daikanyama Address. I've known about this place for a long time, but this was my first time visiting the restaurant. I decided to go for the katsudon set for lunch. The menu had a lot of options, but I chose the cold soba. The set came with smaller portions of each dish. The katsudon was delicious with a strong flavor. The soba was simple and tasty. The restaurant was quite busy during lunchtime with locals.

This is a traditional soba restaurant. I had the curry rice bowl set (with zaru soba) for 1000 yen. The curry rice bowl had a rich flavor as expected, and the soba matched the atmosphere well. I found a good everyday restaurant. (I was taken there by someone.)
