I have bought a 300ml bottle of Tsukino Katsura's Junmai sake with a skull drawing by Jakuchu on the label at this store before. It was new at that time. This time, I found both a 720ml bottle of Tsukino Katsura's Junmai Ginjo with a skull drawing by Jakuchu on the label, and a 720ml bottle of Junmai Ginjo and Junmai Daiginjo with a rain dragon drawing by Taniguchi Shuzo. The bottles were wrapped in thin paper, so I couldn't see the bottling date. I was a bit skeptical, but I ended up buying the Junmai Ginjo with the rain dragon drawing. When I checked at home, it turned out to be a bit old, bottled in December of last year. The price was decent, so I was a bit shocked. Maybe even if you know Jakuchu, the price is a bit high, which might be why not many people buy sake here? The taste: It has a nice aroma, slightly sweet, full-bodied, easy to drink, perfect for women. I think it's a delicious sake, but if it were newer, the aroma might have been even better. It's hard for amateurs to judge if it's new or old based on taste alone, so maybe it's better to buy from a department store that manages their stock more carefully.

As an established liquor store, they not only offer sake from Fushimi but also from the northern part of Kyoto, making it possible to find some unique options.

I visited the shop for lunch on a regular day. The shop is located in Nishiki Market. I noticed Umenojuku's freshly squeezed orange sake displayed outside, so I decided to visit. I found a four-bottle of freshly squeezed orange sake in the back refrigerator space. Of course, I purchased the freshly squeezed orange sake (around 1300 yen). Freshly squeezed orange sake needs to be refrigerated, so it is rare to find a shop that sells it. The sake contains a large amount of orange pulp, giving it a fresh taste as if you are drinking the orange itself. It is incredibly delicious. This shop in Nishiki Market has a great selection of sake and is highly recommended.

Located in Nishiki Market in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, right next to Uoriki-san. After purchasing the conger eel cutlet and conger eel tempura at Uoriki-san and starting to walk back, I found myself next to a liquor store, with various local sake and beer on display. Unsure of what to do, the saleswoman and I exchanged a few words, and I couldn't resist her lovely smile. I decided to enjoy a Kyoto craft beer. The small shop was bustling with customers, but the saleswoman, like a hostess, allowed me to drink outside if I preferred. So, I enjoyed my beer outside, watching the lively crowd at the market. The craft beer had a strong flavor and a distinct bitterness, typical of local beers, but it was delicious. When I asked if I could show her the conger eel cutlet from the neighboring shop, she gladly agreed. The conger eel was tender and boneless, expertly prepared with a delicate flavor. I personally preferred the cutlet over the tempura. Both dishes were lightly salted, but the tempura was more delicate in taste. The cutlet had a subtle Western touch to it. The slightly heavier beer complemented the dishes well, refreshing my palate. It was a delightful dining experience at Nishiki Market, a wonderland of food. Although I'm not a big fan of rice, I felt that walking through Nishiki Market required a rice cooker in one hand and a beer mug in the other. I even got to sample some pickles and achieved one of my goals. I hope to visit again next spring.

I went to Nishiki Market, known as the kitchen of Kyoto. I started around 3:30 PM from Karasuma Station. First, I bought freshly fried tempura skewers and had a beer. As I strolled around, I came across Tsunoki Sake Shop. The words "Happiness to drink now" caught my eye. I couldn't resist and decided to try their Junmai Ginjo sake "Drops of Peach" which they poured into a bottle labeled "Taruzake." They also had a tank of sake, including the Junmai Daiginjo Namazake "Miyakotsuru" from the Tsukasabotan Sake Brewery in Fushimi. There were many Kyoto local sakes to choose from, making it a place where you could spend hours without getting bored. However, I still had more eating and drinking to do, so I had to move on.

On May 5th, 2015, in the middle of Golden Week, I went food hopping in the bustling Nishiki Market. For the fourth stop, feeling a bit thirsty, I found a local beer shop where I could enjoy Fushimi's draft beer for 700 yen. It was refreshing and delicious. However, I wished they had a designated drinking area. When I asked the staff, they refused and told me to drink outside. This poor service experience affected my overall rating. Despite the crowded market, I had to step out of the shop and drink amidst the crowd. "Why can't we drink inside the shop?" This was the first time in four stops that I was denied the opportunity to drink inside a restaurant. I hope they can improve their service.

I'm in Kyoto right now. I'm heading to Nishiki Market. I really like the kamaboko shop inside the market, called Marutane Kamaboko. Their kamaboko is delicious. I'll get some and then explore the market. Oh, there's a liquor store here. Inside, they sell various Kyoto sake. This time, I got a Kyoto local sake called "Matsumoto" that was in a cardboard box. It's a one-cup sake, priced at 260 yen per bottle. It has a nice taste and was enjoyable to drink.

During my time living in Kyoto, on a typical holiday, I would go to this liquor store where they would pour sake into a cup for me to try while I walked along Nishiki Market until I reached an izakaya. However, since it was the end of the year, Nishiki was too crowded to walk and drink at the same time (laughs). This time, I stopped by to buy some sake to bring to a restaurant I had reserved for New Year's. I was thinking of getting either Totsuzen's Junmai Daiginjo, Eikun's Aged PB, or Furusato Izumi's Watarifune based on this store's lineup, but they were all sold out. In the end, I found a higher-grade sake that seemed suitable for a full-course meal from start to finish, so I bought Matsunosuke AZOLLA's Aged sake. Maybe next time, I'll try drinking sake from the store again after a long time, even if it's just a small amount.

There is a liquor store at Nishiki Market that catches the eye of alcohol lovers with its catchy phrase "Now, drink happiness." They sell barrel sake by weight and bottle it for you. The sake they offer is called "Momo no Shizuku," a junmai ginjo sake. It was a very rich-tasting sake, quite different from the light sake I usually drink at home. It's the kind of sake you want to savor on its own rather than drink while eating.

A shop in Nishiki Market in Kyoto that has been running a sake brewery for 200 years. They have a variety of sake brands such as Sawaya Matsumoto, Matsunosuke, and Nishiyama, which are not commonly found in other stores. I heard about some unique items that are only available at this shop or have limited distribution, so I bought a few of them. I purchased interesting items such as Fushimi Tsuki no Katsura Junmai Ginjo, Nishiki Market limited edition U label, and Eikun Junmai Daiginjo. The interaction between the owner and what seemed to be his mother was pleasant. They were very helpful and friendly when I asked questions. I recommend this shop to sake lovers. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

At the liquor store Tsunoki Sake Store in Nishiki Market Shopping Street, you can enjoy fresh sake and beer straight from the tanks. I tried a local beer from Kyoto this time, and it had a rich flavor and a refreshing taste that helped me forget about the heat!

I specialize in sake. I visited a sake specialty store in Nishiki Market and found that they sell Han'nari for 300 yen per bottle and Ine Mankai. Han'nari has a sake-like taste, while Ine Mankai is on the sweeter side.

This month has come again~^ ^ I chose Tsuzuru, a sake brewery in Fushimi, Kyoto. They sell true fresh sake at the store, which is poured directly from the brewery tanks. It has a smooth mouthfeel with a wide rice aroma. The aftertaste is refreshing and clear, leaving a lasting impression. It's so fresh and amazing!

I stopped by Fushimi's Sawaya Matsumoto to buy souvenirs for myself. The bubbly sake is delicious as always. There were so many unique types of sake to choose from, I had a hard time deciding. I bought some beer and then explored the market. Beer is the best!!
