Soupless mapo noodles...980 yen. Maruichi Ramen Shop. Not too oily, with a perfect balance of ingredients, noodles, and seasoning. The best maze-soba to enjoy the deliciousness! The perfect spiciness that allows you to savor the flavor without overwhelming your taste buds. The flat curly noodles complement the rich seasoning perfectly. The service is excellent, with friendly and kind staff. Thank you very much! I was extremely full (probably because I ordered the 300g portion) and couldn't make it to the extra rice... Next time, I want to try the tsukemen!

I was drawn in by the appearance of the menu and decided to dine in. I thought it was a tsukemen (dipping noodles) shop, but I wondered if the curry was also delicious. They mentioned that you can also have free toppings like garlic and mayonnaise, but this time I decided to go without any toppings. The Chashu Curry that arrived had a generous amount of chashu on top, just like in the photos. The curry was slightly spicy with a nice hint of spices, and it was delicious. I appreciated that there was meat in the curry sauce as well. The rice was cooked fluffy and surprisingly tasty, which added to the excitement. The highlight was the soft and flavorful chashu. It was delicious on its own or paired with the curry. I finished it in no time. Thank you for the meal. I was impressed by the efficient and friendly service of the staff in the dining area. It would have been perfect if the chairs in the restaurant weren't so hard.

Asakusa Menya Maruichi "Soupless Curry" + Large Serving + Garlic + Oil + Mayo finally hit the spot... Located at the entrance of Higashigo Street in Asakusa, a mixed noodle shop produced by the homemade noodles No.11 is a must-try. The default is mapo, but... I couldn't handle the spicy heat, so I opted for curry with a thick and rich texture, mixed and slurped it down... what an amazing sensation?! The curry itself is too delicious, they even have curry rice apparently. Unusually for a Jiro-style place, the staff are friendly, so it's recommended even for those who are not into garlic noodles or fangirls. Finish your meal and leave with a sense of satisfaction! #NoodleLift #NoodleLiftAssociation #TokyoGourmet #DowntownGourmet #AsakusaGourmet #Asakusa #HigashigoStreet #EastTokyoCalendar #MenyaMaruichi #Soupless #HomemadeNoodlesNo11 #RamenJiro #Ramen #Noodlestagram #FoodPorn #MixedNoodles #Foodie #ThickNoodles #Ramen #RamenFan #RamenDatabase #RichPatrol #JiroInspired #CurryClub #JiroStyle #FoodieCommunity #YummyFood

I wasn't feeling well and had no appetite for the past three days, but I decided I needed to get some nutrition so I went to Maruiichi. I arrived at the restaurant a little after 5 pm and there were no other customers. This time, I ordered the oil noodles. You could choose between 300g and 380g of noodles, and I chose 300g this time because I wasn't feeling confident. I only added mayonnaise as a topping. The noodles were served in about 10 minutes. I mixed it well and squeezed some lemon from the beginning. It was delicious as always. However, maybe because I wasn't feeling very hungry or my stomach had shrunk a bit, I started feeling heavy as I ate more, and when there was about 20% left, my chopsticks movements slowed down. I managed to finish it by washing it down with water. It seemed like the portion was a bit too much for my current condition. But no matter what, it's still undeniably delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Maruichi, located in Asakusa, with a rating of 3.45 on Tabelog. It is tucked away in the back streets of Asakusa, with a bright yellow exterior that stands out. The interior is small with only counter seats. This place specializes in stamina ramen such as tsukemen and maze-soba. Interestingly, they have curry posters displayed all over. The curry here is a rich and hearty "Men's Stamina Curry" with a strong meaty broth. It is topped with red chili pepper, garlic, lard, soft-boiled egg, and roasted pork. The aroma of garlic lingers in your mouth after eating. The combination of lard, garlic, and soft-boiled egg makes it a satisfying and hearty curry. It's a great place to visit when you're feeling tired and craving for something hearty.

It's past 2 PM on a regular day. The topic of discussion is the small size of the popular mapo mazesoba. I recently discovered Taiwan mazesoba, the ultimate in this category, so it's not really fair to compare the two, but I can't help it. When I do compare them, I find myself wanting a bit more punch. But they are different dishes after all. Oh well. They also offer free extra rice.

Twice as happy with extra rice! Mabo Mazesoba ◎ Located a 5-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express line. It was located at the end of Hisago Shopping Street. Even though it's at the end, the yellow sign makes it easy to spot the shop! I visited during opening hours. Once inside, customers kept coming in one after another, and the place was packed. This time, I tried the following: ・Soupless Mabo Mazesoba 980 yen You can choose between thick wave noodles and whole grain noodles! I was curious about what mazesoba with mabo would taste like, and when I tried it, it was incredibly delicious. They provide the spiciness separately, so you can adjust it to your liking, which is great! Breaking an egg and mixing it in to make it a bit creamy was also delicious. The mazesoba itself was tasty, but adding the free extra rice made it even better! It goes so well with rice that I could eat as much as I want. The staff also kindly asked if I needed more rice, and their service was polite. Personally, I found it extremely delicious, so I would love to visit this place again. If you love mazesoba or mabo, be sure to check it out!

The signature dish of this restaurant, the mabo mixed noodles, was delicious, but the curry mixed noodles were just my favorite taste. If you like curry, I think it's a perfect flavor. It was the best taste I've ever had in curry ramen. Of course, it goes well with extra rice too.

It was a scorching Saturday in Asakusa. I had some business to attend to and visited the area, which was bustling with people. I decided to have lunch but didn't have a specific place in mind, so I wandered around. I came across a yellow tent and for some reason, I'm always drawn to yellow tents. The name of the restaurant was Menya Maruichi. Looking at the ticket machine, it seemed to be inspired by a certain style. The main dishes were soupless ramen and mixed noodles. There was also curry on the menu, which looked delicious. However, once I saw the yellow tent, I couldn't resist getting noodles. So, I decided on the mixed noodles. I wanted to try the curry, but it was temporarily unavailable due to renovations, so I went with the soupless spicy mixed noodles. I chose the extra spicy option. I ordered the thick wavy noodles. I was quickly seated after waiting outside for a short while. I confirmed the amount of noodles and toppings I wanted. I chose a large portion (300g after cooking) and asked for garlic and mayonnaise as toppings. After about 10 minutes of waiting, my dish arrived. The bowl looked great with a nice presentation. I mixed the noodles well and then took a bite. The noodles were thick and had a light wave. The taste was different from Jiro-style noodles, maybe because of the type of wheat used. The spicy sauce had a good balance of spiciness and richness. The authentic Sichuan-style flavor was delicious. The spiciness was quite strong, and I could taste the hint of Sichuan pepper. The combination of the noodles and the sauce was excellent. I added more spiciness and mixed it lightly. It became even spicier, but still delicious. I finished the noodles and ordered extra rice. The owner asked if I wanted a larger portion, but I opted for the standard size to fully enjoy the spiciness. I mixed the remaining sauce and rice and enjoyed it as my last bite. It was a satisfying meal. I look forward to trying the renovated curry mixed noodles next time.

I visited around 12 o'clock on a weekday. The restaurant was about 80% full, but I was able to enter without waiting in line. It operates on a ticket system, and the top row seemed to be dominated by curry rice, so I wondered if it's a ramen shop that also specializes in curry. They also had curry tsukemen on the menu, but it was unavailable due to renovations. I debated ordering the curry, but since I came to eat noodles, I decided to go with the dry mabo (mixed noodles) today. I asked for no garlic but added oil residue and mayonnaise. Although it looked spicy, the heat wasn't too strong, so even those who don't like spicy food could enjoy it. The taste was a bit junky but delicious. As I ate, I started sweating due to the sweat-inducing effect of the Sichuan pepper. After finishing the noodles, they offered me extra rice, so I thoroughly enjoyed the meal until the end. What impressed me the most about this place was the service. The male staff member recommended adding extra rice, checked on the amount of mabo left, and suggested a slightly larger portion than usual. He also thanked me in the hot weather and even opened the door for me if his hands were free. I thought every ramen shop should learn from this place. I look forward to coming back to try the curry next time. Thank you for the meal.

Mapo mazesoba with extra flavor was excellent. The noodles had a nice texture and the customer service was great. However, the noodles were a bit too hard, possibly due to a timing mistake. Despite this, I still found the dish delicious. The staff was very friendly, so I believe it was just a one-time mistake. I plan to visit again soon to confirm.

The food is super delicious and the staff is kind and friendly. It's so tasty that I come back once a week. The flavored egg is the best, so I always order 3 tickets. The spicy mixed noodles are a complete nutritious meal. It's amazing from the first bite to the last. I will definitely visit again.

2023-159th cup (June 18th cup) ◎ Mabo Tofu without broth, Thick Wave Noodles @ Menya Maruichi 2-22-10 Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo Nearest station: Asakusa Station - 5 minutes walk Closed on: Not specified Information on Twitter -------------------------------------------------- - TP 3.43 (79 reviews) Taito-ku 91 -------------------------------------------------- - 2023/6 Weekday night First visit Opened in April 2022 under the supervision of "Jikasei Men No. 11" in Itabashi-ku, and awarded 2nd place in the new no-broth category at TRY last fall (unfortunately, the ranking on Tabelog did not improve...) The store manager has extensive experience in soba, Japanese cuisine, and ramen. Arrived at 8:00 pm and entered the restaurant without waiting. Ordered: Mabo Tofu without broth, Thick Wave Noodles [without mayonnaise] ¥980 Green pepper sauce ¥120 Extra spiciness ¥50 <Total ¥1150> The arrival of the 2nd place in the new no-broth category at TRY last fall ✨ There is a box of Suga no Men's noodles placed. The thick wave noodles, which are about 2.5x7mm and kneaded, are not the trendy chewy noodles but rather a rough type with a pasta-like texture. The ingredients include Mabo tofu, egg yolk, naruto, lard, garlic, and green onions. The spicy Mabo tofu mixes well with the thick wavy noodles. The green pepper sauce for flavor variation is exquisite. Ending with extra rice is inevitable. "Would you like more extra rice than usual?" This automatic service is wonderful ✨

#Maruichi Ramen #Soupless Mabo Mazesoba #Extra Spicy Extra Spicy Extra Spicy TRY Award 2022-2023 2nd place in the soupless category. This Mazesoba is packed with satisfying flavors, a hearty and indulgent junky dish. It's delicious. The sense of indulgence is incredible. It seems to be a sister shop of No.11. As it is, the spiciness is slightly higher than the average spiciness of a local Chinese restaurant's Mapo Tofu. This time, I chose extra spiciness x3 (maximum amount). Even with this much powdered chili added on top, the Mapo and sauce don't lose to the spiciness and still taste great, which is amazing. It becomes as spicy as Nakamoto's Arctic x3. With x3, they ask if you want to add Korean capsaicin sauce, so I added it since it's a special occasion. It becomes slightly spicier than Nakamoto's cold miso. It's still good, but the bitterness and aroma might be distracting, so it might be better without it. Judging from how much the capsaicin sauce is used up, I wonder if there are staff members who use it a lot for their meals. By adding Carolina Reaper for an additional fee, you can increase the spiciness without compromising the flavor.

I visited a Jiro-style mixed noodle shop after a long time because I got hooked on mixed noodles in Ebisu. I was drawn to it because they had mapo mixed noodles, so I visited on a Monday. When the dish arrived, I mixed it all up and started eating. I felt like the mapo flavor could have been stronger. Maybe a bit weak. I wanted a stronger punch, even without adding garlic. The noodles also felt a bit sticky. I'm not sure what it was. I wanted more of a punch from the mapo. Thank you for the meal!

On this day, I visited a tsukemen (dipping noodles) restaurant in Asakusa that I had bookmarked. The name of the restaurant is Menya Maruichi. It is located in Taito Ward, Asakusa 2. The restaurant is located inside a shopping street. You purchase tickets at the ticket machine at the entrance. The curry seems to be their specialty as it is the first item on the menu. This time, I ordered the soupless mapo tofu whole wheat noodles with garlic pickles. The restaurant has about 12-13 seats at the counter and tables. First, the garlic pickles were served. The garlic is pickled in soy sauce and other seasonings, and it is addictive to eat with a crunchy texture. It's delicious. As I was enjoying the garlic pickles, the soupless mapo tofu noodles were served. It contains garlic and oil. When mixed thoroughly, the mapo tofu has a moderate spiciness that makes you sweat slightly. The whole wheat noodles have a good chewy texture and they go well with the sauce and mapo tofu. The oil is not overpowering, and the garlic and mayonnaise add a nice accent, making it enjoyable to eat without getting tired of it. When you finish the noodles, you can ask for rice to mix with the remaining ingredients. Mixing the leftover ingredients with rice and eating it is also delicious and satisfying. Next time, I'll have to try the curry too!

Asakusa Maruichi, a noodle shop on Hisago Street, operates on a system where you buy a meal ticket first and then line up. Surprisingly, my favorite mala ramen was not on the menu. When I asked the staff, they said I could pay cash inside for the mala ramen. It cost ¥1000 with a ¥50 discount for no cilantro. The delicious taste was addictive. The meal ticket in the photo was taken earlier.

I often see this place crowded so I wanted to try it out. As a big fan of soup dishes, I was a bit hesitant about trying the soup-less option. I decided to go for the soup-less mapo tofu by ordering at the ticket machine outside. They also had curry on the menu, which looked tempting. I couldn't find a mini curry option, but the soup-less mapo tofu was delicious. I'm sure the curry is also amazing. I would love to try the soup version next time, but for now, this was satisfying.

This is one of the famous restaurants in Asakusa. It has won awards for its ramen at TRY and has become quite popular with influencers posting about it. It was also on my list of must-visit places. The shop is produced by the famous Daisan's No. 11 homemade noodles. I tried their most popular dish, the mabo maze soba. Garlic, lard, and mayo are free toppings. The dish uses shredded pork as the main ingredient, which was a nice touch. I mixed it all together vigorously and enjoyed it in one go. It was not too spicy and had a satisfyingly junky flavor. Next time, I want to try their regular maze soba.

I arrived at the restaurant at 6:00 pm for the evening session and was informed that they were having continuous business hours from morning to night due to a festival. I hadn't eaten anything all day so I was very hungry. I decided to order the large serving of tsukemen with whole wheat noodles, without any extra toppings. The staff mentioned that they had started serving curry from May, which also looked delicious. The restaurant had a few empty seats at the counter and there were two groups of foreign customers. My order arrived in about 10 minutes and as always, it was delicious and satisfying. The chashu was tender and flavorful. I also tried adding apple vinegar for a different taste. The large portion was quite filling and I enjoyed every last bite. Thank you for the meal.
