Fuchu Honcho / Ramen Jiro Fuchu Store [The sleeves that touch each other are also the ties of other lives.] The conditions that make it difficult for married people to visit a ramen shop are: - Open on weekdays - Open at night These are the two points. While living near Fuchu, I always wanted to go but never found the right timing. However, today, as we enter the Golden Week starting tomorrow, my wife took the kids back home first. So, there's no other option but here. After finishing work remotely, I dashed to Fuchu Jiro. The noodles have become thinner, and some fans say they preferred the old version. But for me, it's my first time, so I'll approach it without bias. This time, I shared information with a follower and visited the shop! I arrived around 8:30 pm and there were 10 people in line. According to the information I received, - The amount of vegetables is decent - The amount of noodles is not that much - The pork is not too overwhelming So, I was struggling with what to order, and then the guy in front of me seemed to be acting suspiciously. I thought, "Oh no, he forgot his wallet," and sure enough, that was the case. I lent him a 1000 yen bill as he happened to be in Tokyo for work and staying at a nearby hotel. I've been helped by others in similar situations before, so I wanted to pay it forward and he quickly paid me back using PayPay. It's the modern age (laughs). While waiting, we chatted, and as he was let in first, I soon followed into the shop. After much consideration, I ended up ordering with fewer noodles, a bit of garlic, vegetable oil (note: there is no option for extra toppings). The bowl arrived shortly after. Now, let's eat. The soup is strong and not emulsified. Dip the noodles into the oily film and eat. As rumored, the flavor is not too rich, and compared to other Jiro shops, it's relatively light. I'm satisfied with this, but for those who prefer stronger flavors, I recommend adding Karame. The noodles, although I haven't seen the thick ones from the past, are thinner compared to other Jiro shops. The vegetables are crunchy yet tender, which I like. And the standout is the pork. It's not as huge as a fist or a meteorite (that's just crazy), but for someone like me who eats less, it's just right, incredibly tender and falls apart easily. It was melt-in-your-mouth. The overall amount of noodles was not too much, and I could finish it, but for me, half the noodles would have been enough. Maybe I need to order less than a third of the noodles next time... The shop owner's personality got me too, the most relaxed Jiro I've been to. If we were to compete for the most friendly Jiro, it would be Mita, Ogikubo, Shinagawa, Kawasaki, Fuchu. Overall, I don't feel the urge to visit again, but I'd like to drop by before time runs out. Finally, I achieved my long-awaited goal of conquering the local Jiro. Tomorrow, I'll return to my hometown of Machida, but I still want to eat it again. Pineapple, I miss you. And the evolution, Noodles, Oyaji. Hmm, it's a tough decision! I also want to visit vintage shops, looking forward to it. Have a wonderful Golden Week, everyone.
