Cool atmosphere. Maybe because it was during lunchtime, they didn't allow sharing tables. Cash only. The photos on the menu all looked delicious. I decided to start with their signature Daruma Ramen. It arrived with just noodles in the bowl, and the toppings on a separate plate. I took a sip of the soup. It's a Japanese-style ramen, maybe with bonito or kelp? It's delicious. The medium-thick curly noodles are pleasantly chewy. This is good. It feels nice in my mouth. The nori topping adds a nice flavor contrast. Maybe it's better to add the nori towards the end. The chashu pork is also quite good. Thank you for the delicious meal. I might try their rice dishes next time. I will definitely go back.

- Japanese-style ramen / long-established / open all day
- 2 minutes walk from Omotesando Station
- Opened in 1975
- Cash payment only
[Shumai] 600 yen including tax
Standard. Neither good nor bad.
[Kimchi fried rice] 1,100 yen including tax
Simple taste. The chunks of meat are great. The bonito broth soup is also irresistible.
[Daruma soba] 900 yen including tax
Ingredients are served separately. The intention to first taste the noodles and soup is evident. The curly noodles and bonito broth are deeply satisfying.
The atmosphere inside the restaurant is traditional Japanese. The service is calm even during lunch peak hours.
I felt the spirit of "Daruma soba" and it was quite good. Overall, it was pleasantly "ordinary." This sense of normalcy is comforting, and if everyone can feel it as normal, then that is the greatness of a long-established restaurant. With its convenient location near the station and all-day service, it is easy to use. I remembered coming here with my boss at an odd time 10 years ago (laughs). So, this is a restaurant that is "convenient and pleasantly ordinary."

A cozy Japanese-style ramen shop located on a back street in Aoyama, perfect for visiting with family! They offer a variety of side dishes, so be careful not to order too much. The ramen is great, but I personally loved the curry fried rice with extra char siu. I definitely want to visit again with my family!

On a Saturday afternoon, I was looking for food around Omotesando and came across "Darumaya", so I decided to stop by. I was seated at a small table and ordered the "tofu soba" for 1,000 yen. The interior of the restaurant had a traditional Japanese feel, and the staff provided a friendly and homely service. After a short wait, a flat plate of tofu in a thick sauce arrived. I sprinkled some shichimi pepper and pepper on it before starting to eat. Then, a soy sauce-colored ramen was served. I may have done it wrong, but I poured all the tofu sauce over the ramen. The sauce was delicious with a nice fragrance of sansho pepper. The ramen had a good chewy texture, and it was topped with crunchy bell peppers and flavorful ground meat. It was a simple thing to write, but the tofu sauce seemed like it would go well with rice.

- Order: Braised pork belly soba (1000 yen)
- Impression: The toppings were served separately. The ramen had a simple taste, with a gentle soy sauce flavor that seemed to have a hint of dried sardines. Thank you for the meal.
- Circumstances of visit: Visited a little after 11 am. No wait.

The table we sat at was the one farthest in the back, but the cell phone reception was a bit poor. Next time, I would like to come try the ramen and the shumai that many customers were ordering. #Omotesando #Ramen #Chinese cuisine #Negi-tama #Highball

Wonton ramen for 1000 yen and half-fried rice for 600 yen (get 100 yen off when ordered as a set with noodles). The sign says "Japanese-style ramen" and the soup was very Japanese-style (lol). It had a gentle flavor. They also had rice bowls, so I want to try that next time. Personally, the ramen didn't suit my taste, but it's a matter of preference. The fried rice was nice and fluffy, just the way I like it.

It's ordinary, but it's okay like this. It doesn't have to be sparkling. Omotesando is like that.---------NotesI try to write down what I honestly think so that people who read the reviews won't make a wrong judgment. I will provide additional information such as whether it is Instagrammable or the atmosphere of the restaurant, but the ratings are mainly based on whether the food is delicious or not, and whether it is worth the price.

On May 19, 2023 (Friday) for dinner with my partner, we went to a so-called "Chinatown" in Omotesando before heading to the Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium to watch the league one playoff 3rd place decider match between Yokohama Canon Eagles and Tokyo Suntory Sungoliath. We arrived at the restaurant around 5:50 pm and ordered gyoza (600 yen) and a beer (700 yen) to start. The gyoza was average. We also ordered the signature Daruma soba (900 yen) with added wontons (extra 200 yen) and the popular dry curry fried rice (1100 yen). The Daruma soba came with the toppings served separately, and the soup had a nice Japanese-style broth flavor. The noodles were chewy and not bad. The dry curry fried rice was a bit mushy but had a hint of curry flavor, with crunchy vegetables and large cuts of pork. It was delicious. The total bill came to 3500 yen. Later, we watched the rugby match where Yokohama Canon Eagles won against Tokyo Suntory Sungoliath with a score of 26-20, securing their first 3rd place victory. It was an exciting game, and the rain stopped after about 15 minutes. The match had 8270 spectators. The G7 Summit in Hiroshima began, with world leaders visiting the Atomic Bomb Museum. There was also news that the President of Ukraine, Zelensky, would be visiting Japan soon.

The name "Wafu Chuka" suits this place well. As far as I know, it has been around since the 1980s. I visited with my colleagues on a Friday evening around 7 o'clock. We had to wait a bit as there was a turnover, but finally got seated. We ordered the pickled mustard fried rice and dumplings. The pickled mustard fried rice here is delicious as always. It's different from regular Chinese fried rice, but I can't quite put my finger on why. The soup had a strong bonito flavor when I drank it. This place has a unique style of Chinese cuisine. It's been 30 years since I first tried it, but it's still one of my favorites. Thank you for the meal.

On a day off, I visited Daruma Soba for lunch and ordered the Daruma Soba and Braised Pork Belly Soba. The difference between Daruma Soba and Braised Pork Belly Soba is just the type of meat, with one having chashu and the other having braised pork belly. The soup is made with bonito broth and has a very nice aroma. It is rare to find a soy sauce-based ramen with a light flavor like this in Tokyo. The braised pork belly was a bit greasy, giving the dish a heavy feel. Overall, this ramen is very simple and well-balanced, but some may find it to be just an average bowl of ramen.

The ramen shop at the basement of Kohara-ryu Kaikan is older than Fumin and serves the toppings separately when ordered, before the noodles. This is great for those who like to drink a little. Nowadays, many ramen shops in Tokyo have thick broth that is hard to finish, but here, it's easy to drink it all. I tried various dishes like braised pork ramen, mapo tofu ramen, pickled mustard greens ramen, and fried rice, but I still went for their signature Daruma ramen today.

I entered the restaurant at 12:00 p.m. for lunch on a regular day. The interior was almost full, but I was able to sit down quickly as there was an available seat at the counter. They have both table and counter seats, making it easy for solo diners. I ordered the mapo tofu rice bowl for 800 yen and gyoza for 600 yen. Both dishes arrived in about 10 minutes. I took a bite of the mapo tofu rice bowl first! Yes, as it is described as a Japanese-style Chinese dish, you can really taste the Japanese dashi broth! It's a local Chinese restaurant, so it's not spicy, but I like the thick texture. You can adjust the spiciness with the pepper on the counter. Next, I tried the gyoza! Yes, it's delicious, but I feel like 600 yen is a bit expensive. Thank you for the meal. *Payment is cash only.

Visited this ramen shop in Omotesando based on a recommendation. The menu gives off a Chinese restaurant vibe, and it seems like a good place to come for drinks at night. I sat at a table, and the interior was spacious with a good amount of table seating. The staff was friendly and provided decent service.
The ramen came with no toppings, all the toppings were served on the side. The noodles were thick and chewy, cooked perfectly. The simple broth had a nice umami flavor. Adding the toppings like green onions and seaweed really enhanced the overall taste. I realized the importance of green onions in ramen. Overall, a satisfying meal.

I love this restaurant so much. Their stir-fried dishes with pickled mustard greens and bean sprouts, as well as their fried rice, are both excellent so I always order both. I usually get the pickled mustard greens ramen and half fried rice, with the noodles cut in half. The waitress always says, "The price stays the same, sorry," but I always reply, "It's okay, it's my preference." I start by mixing a little bit of the pickled mustard greens into the noodles (adding saltiness to the soup) and then adding the ingredients with each bite. Then I enjoy the fried rice, sometimes eating just the ingredients. The ingredients and fried rice are like those of a typical Chinese restaurant, but the noodles and soup have a light and delicate Japanese touch which I really like. I also love their flat noodles.

I visited Daruma-ya in Omotesando for the first time in about 20 years. I ordered the braised pork belly ramen, which was just as delicious as I remembered. The atmosphere and service in the restaurant were also very calming. I really like the vibe here. Next time, I want to try something other than noodles. Thank you for the meal.

It is located behind the antique street of the fashionable town of Minami Aoyama. It is an old-fashioned Japanese-style ramen shop. The ramen is nostalgic, gentle, and delicious. I stopped by on my way to work, so it was still good, but please be aware that the nearby coin parking lots have some of the highest rates in Tokyo. It's funny that the parking fee can be higher than the cost of the meal when going out for ramen.

A delicious ramen shop in Omotesando, known for its unique genre called "Japanese-style Chinese cuisine." The ramen and other dishes are topped with stir-fried vegetables and a thick sauce that clearly reflects a Japanese influence. The flavors are not too spicy or salty, but rather gentle and comforting. The "Takana soba" costs 1,000 yen and comes with hot soy sauce soup-soaked noodles and a separate serving of hot stir-fried vegetables. The slightly curly yellow noodles in the clear soy sauce soup are not overpowering. The thick stir-fried vegetables, similar to a thick sauce, are made with plenty of bean sprouts, cabbage, pork, mushrooms, and mustard greens. When added to the ramen, the stir-fried vegetables keep everything warm and the combination with the soy sauce soup is delicious. The "Ankake Don" costs 800 yen and also has plenty of ingredients. It has more variety of vegetables compared to the Takana soba and looks colorful. About half of the bowl is filled with thick sauce, while the rice portion is surprisingly small, allowing you to enjoy the stir-fried vegetables to the fullest. The soup is likely made from the same soy sauce base. It's a satisfying dish at a lower price than the soba, and you'll leave feeling full and satisfied with plenty of vegetables. Located off the main street of Omotesando, look for the sign that says "Daruma." The interior is spacious with around 5 counter seats and additional table seating in the back for about 20 people. Even when the place is busy, the attentive and efficient waitress ensures you're not kept waiting for your drinks or bill. The gentle Japanese flavors combined with a menu that satisfies both ramen and Chinese food cravings make this place a gem. It's the kind of place that would be a great find near your workplace.

Today, I visited a popular restaurant near Kotto-dori for lunch, but it was quite crowded even though I went at a slightly off-peak time. I decided to try their popular Dry Curry Fried Rice, but ended up choosing the High Vegetable Ramen for a change. The High Vegetable Ramen arrived first, followed by the noodles. One unique feature of this place is that the toppings are served separately. Instead of immediately mixing them in, I sprinkled some pepper on the noodles first. Another distinctive feature is the soy sauce soup with bonito broth. The noodles were thick and curly, and the soup was delicious. I enjoyed the dish by first savoring the toppings separately and then combining them with the noodles. The stir-fried bean sprouts with high vegetables were also tasty, even on their own. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and next time, I might try the popular Dry Curry Fried Rice or maybe the Liver Stir-Fry with Gyoza and beer as a finisher.

Popular restaurant during lunchtime, Daruma Soba offers a unique dish called Half Dry Curry Chahan Ramen, which has a Japanese taste with medium thick curly noodles and separate ingredients served on the side. The Dry Curry Chahan was delicious! The menu is extensive, making it difficult to choose. It's great that you can choose a half-size portion of the popular Chahan. Thank you for the meal!
