When it comes to Minami Asagaya, it's famous for its tonkatsu restaurant, but I accidentally booked a week too early, so I ended up trying authentic iron skillet gyoza instead!! I've visited many Hakata restaurants, but this is my first time trying it in Tokyo! We ordered two servings and enjoyed it with a glass of seaweed vinegar! The hot iron plate!! These bite-sized gyoza are so delicious, you can keep eating them endlessly. Thank you for the feast!!

Nakanashi, a restaurant in Minami Asagaya, serves delicious iron pot gyoza. There were empty seats available. We ordered two servings of gyoza for 1,100 yen, and they were ready in 10 minutes. The gyoza had a crispy texture like fried dumplings, with a slight fluffy feel like bread, and the combination of vinegar soy sauce and yuzu pepper gave it a nice finish. It was delicious! We also had beer which made us very satisfied.

The nearest station is Minamiasagaya Station. There is a restaurant along Ome Kaido where you can eat Hakata-style iron pot gyoza. They ask you how many servings you want when ordering, with 10 pieces in one serving. I was shown the small gyoza and decided that 2 servings would be enough for me. I ordered one serving, and the crispy gyoza was seriously delicious and piping hot. They also have a variety of vinegar dishes, potato salad, miso soup, yakitori, and more. After much deliberation, I chose the grilled salmon. I definitely want to go back, the cost performance is too good.

The dumplings are asked how many servings at first. We ordered three servings for two people, which was just right (photo). Yuzu pepper goes well with the dumplings. It feels like appetizer dumplings. There is non-alcoholic beer available (Sapporo Premium). It is stated that smoking is allowed, but there is an ashtray outside the restaurant where smoking is allowed. Inside seems to be non-smoking.

Located in Minami Asagaya, this restaurant offers Hakata-style iron pot gyoza, a popular dish from Fukuoka. As it is a branch of "Hakata Gion Tetsu Nabe Gyoza," they also serve other typical Hakata izakaya dishes like mentaiko (spicy cod roe) and negi-tama (leek and egg). The gyoza here is bite-sized with a crispy skin and a generous filling. - Location: 7-minute walk from Minami Asagaya Station - Business hours: 17:00-23:00, open on Sundays - Closed on Thursdays and holidays - Visited on a weekday night and got seated right away - Ordered the Iron Pot Gyoza (for 2 people) for ¥1100, Mentaiko Iwashi (sardines) for ¥550, and a large bowl of rice for ¥220. When the dishes arrived, the gyoza and rice were served first. The gyoza had a crispy skin and a hint of garlic, but lacked flavor without the dipping sauce. The mentaiko sardines were spicy but watery and had little to eat. It was disappointing compared to its previous reputation as a top 100 restaurant on Tabelog.

I felt like eating dumplings, so I came to this restaurant. Unlike the ones near Asagaya Station, this place was relatively easy to get into. The 3 servings of dumplings came in a cast iron pot, looking quite impressive. Since they are bite-sized, you can easily finish them in one go. They also contain wood ear mushrooms, adding a nice texture. Mixing yuzu pepper into the dumpling sauce makes it twice as delicious.

Iron pot dumplings are the best here! Beer, highball, lemon sour, dumplings, dumplings, dumplings! This time, it's a dumpling-only drink. The staff is unfriendly, but the dumplings are really delicious! I especially love eating them with yuzu pepper without dipping sauce!

I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years. I have a big appetite, so I usually need about 4 servings for myself. The hot iron pot filled with piping hot gyoza is brought to the table. The sight of it, the sizzling sound, the chewy texture of the gyoza, and the Sapporo draft beer - it's just amazing. I am grateful for this restaurant that never fails to meet my expectations every time.

I finally had the long-awaited Teppan Gyoza from Nakayoshi, which is located nearby but I never had the chance to visit before. The small gyoza were lined up in the teppan, crispy and delicious. They were different from the Hamamatsu-style gyoza, more like the Fukuoka-style. I ordered the Teppan Gyoza for two, with a large serving of rice and a medium-sized beer. There are different types of gyoza, and they were all delicious. Thank you for the meal, it was very tasty.

We were discussing what to do for our second stop after 9:00 PM on a regular day, and decided to try calling a place we used to frequent. Surprisingly, they answered and the gyoza was still delicious as ever. The hot iron pot with beautifully browned gyoza was so appetizing. Even though it was our second stop, we finished it all in no time. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Located a little away from Minamiasagaya Station, this is my favorite gyoza place that I crave regularly. The gyoza, served on a hot plate, has a perfect balance of skin and filling, and I can eat as many as I want. I like to eat them with sauce and yuzu pepper. The cost performance is also good at 550 yen per serving. There are various side menu options, but I always end up wanting to fill up on gyoza. Since it's packed with garlic, breath care is a must!

I made a same-day reservation for 2 people at 6:00 PM on Sunday. We were seated at a 4-person table in the back. They asked how many orders of gyoza we wanted right away, and we ordered 3. We also ordered a bottle of Shirakirishima shochu with hot water, whale vinegar miso salad, and leek and egg soup. The gyoza was packed with flavor and delicious, and the appetizers were amazing. We finished with clam soup and left very satisfied!

I heard it was crowded so I made a reservation and went. The dumplings were piping hot and delicious. They are small so ordering 2-3 servings per person is enough. I also ordered the recommended grilled eggplant and snow cone. The drinks came out late, so I almost burned my mouth. That's how hot and delicious they were. There were also people ordering takeout, so it seems popular locally. I want to go again.

In South Asagaya, we ordered Kyushu-style iron pot gyoza for a gyoza party. The order arrived in about 10 minutes, and we were greeted with a large amount of gyoza lined up in an iron pot. They were not too big, making them easy to eat in one bite. We, a group of 4, devoured about 5 plates of gyoza. Additionally, the restaurant is known for its "nira tamago" (chive and egg) dish, of which we ordered about 3 servings. Everything was delicious. Even though the restaurant is far from my home, I definitely want to come back. #friends #ironpotgyoza #gyoza #gyozaparty #gyozastagram #ironpot #SouthAsagaya #SouthAsagayaGourmet #gourmet #Tokyo #TokyoGourmet #foodstagram #asagaya

A Hakata Gyoza restaurant in Minami Asagaya. It's about a 12-minute walk from Asagaya. The restaurant has counter seats and table seats. We ordered a serving of iron pot gyoza for two, leek tamago (egg), spicy herring, and okra with natto. The iron pot gyoza was bite-sized and easy to eat. The flavor was average. The popular leek tamago had plenty of leeks, which was nice. The other dishes were average. The food was served quickly, but the attitude of the staff was not very friendly. I didn't feel like it deserved to be selected as one of the top gyoza restaurants. I think there are other delicious gyoza restaurants out there.

This popular restaurant always has a few people waiting. Don't expect friendly service with a smile, but the gyoza is delicious. You can enjoy teppanyaki even without going to Fukuoka, which is great. As a woman dining alone, I order chicken wings, gyoza, rice, and miso soup without alcohol. I eat three servings of gyoza, and although I feel full enough to struggle walking home, I always end up ordering three servings again due to the temptation of the delicious gyoza. I hope this helps other women in deciding how much to order.

Visited around 7:30 pm on Friday. I had made a reservation, and the restaurant was about 70% full. The seating had good spacing between tables, and the atmosphere was calm and pleasant. There were two clean restrooms available. We ordered two servings of gyoza, leek and egg, high-sugar tomatoes, and potato salad. It took a bit of time for the food to be served, but everything was delicious. The gyoza, in particular, had a thin skin with a generous amount of garlic-flavored filling, making it exceptional. It felt like a combination of frying and baking. The gyoza was served on a hot plate, so we could enjoy them hot until the end. There were three types of Kirishima shochu available, which was impressive. The prices were reasonable, making it a convenient restaurant to visit.

I came across a type of gyoza cooked in an iron pan that was really delicious. It was crispy on the outside and nicely browned. I like it when gyoza is cooked this way. The filling inside was packed tightly, giving it a satisfying bite.

I stopped by at Nabe Nakayoshi and Tonkatsu Narikura in Minami Asagaya. It's located about 2-3 minutes walk from Narikura, so I had been wanting to check out this place as a second stop. The bite-sized iron pot gyoza is famous and I finally got to try it. I arrived around 6:30 pm on a weekday and there were only 3 groups of customers, so it was not crowded yet. The old-fashioned interior had table and counter seats, and we were told to choose any seat we liked, so we sat at a large table for 4 people. The walls were filled with autographs of celebrities and famous people. Even though I was already full from the tonkatsu, I thought I could still eat some bite-sized gyoza. I ordered a Sapporo draft beer for 550 yen to quench my thirst. There were gyoza sauce and yuzu pepper on the table, which the neighboring table had ordered and it looked delicious. I also ordered a pickled vegetable assortment for 495 yen, which included cucumbers, daikon radish, and eggplants with plenty of bonito flakes. After about 10 minutes, the iron pot gyoza (for 2 people) arrived. The gyoza was served in a hot iron pot, neatly lined up with 20 pieces. The crispy and juicy gyoza was delicious. Despite being small, I managed to eat 6 pieces even though I was already full. The skin was chewy, and although there wasn't much meat juice, the filling was flavorful enough to eat on its own. But it was even better with vinegar soy sauce and yuzu pepper. I could only manage to drink one beer, so it was okay as a second stop. It seems like a popular place for locals and has a casual izakaya feel. Next time, I'll try Gyoza Bo or Buta Hakai, a popular spot in Asagaya.

There are over 10 popular restaurants around Asagaya Station, and one of them is Tonkatsu Narukura. After enjoying tonkatsu there, I visited Nakanoyoshi for their iron pot gyoza as a palate cleanser (lol). Nakanoyoshi is also listed as one of the top gyoza restaurants on Tabelog. It's located about a minute's walk from Tonkatsu Narukura, proudly displaying the Tabelog sticker on its door. I started with a refreshing Sapporo Black Label draft beer for 550 yen. It was well-chilled and delicious. We ordered the iron pot gyoza for two, which is a signature dish. The staff asked how many servings we wanted, as it takes a bit of time to prepare. The pickles were also popular among other customers. The pickles had a nice bonito flavor and included cucumber, Chinese cabbage, eggplant, and pickled daikon radish. The iron pot gyoza arrived with 20 pieces in total, 10 pieces per serving. Despite their small size, they were quite filling, especially after having tonkatsu. We enjoyed them with the special sauce, being careful of the heat. I had another draft beer refill and finished all the gyoza, occasionally trying different flavors with yuzu pepper. I look forward to coming back with an empty stomach next time. Thank you for the meal!
