I went to a yakiniku restaurant that had a lunch menu until 2:30 PM. When I called to confirm, they said they only had a few pieces of kalbi left, so I ordered a mix of kalbi and harami. The harami was tender and had just the right amount of fat, while the kalbi was a bit tough and had a slightly unpleasant smell. The portion size was generous for the price of 2000 yen for the 180g meat platter. Overall, it was good value for money.

I want to eat cold noodles (`・ω・´) I want to eat Korean cold noodles (`・ω・´) When searching, oh? It seems like a cool place that offers barbecue and cold noodles. Let's go to Ueno! Close to my favorite store that sells "drooling chicken sauce", so I'm happy to go shopping and visit "Mazan-kan" restaurant. Among the Korean restaurants in this area, this place has a nostalgic Showa-era vibe. There's even a sign that says "cold noodles" on the facade (´∀`*)ウフフ I enter alone...Σ(゚Д゚)Σ(゚Д゚)Σ(゚Д゚)Σ(゚Д゚)Σ(゚Д゚)...What's with this door handle...What's the purpose of this shape...??? Slowly slide it open...Ah, it opened (laughs) The owner guides me to a table for four. On the table, there's a grill with a gas hose and a lunch menu. The menu doesn't have cold noodles, but are there any other options? Oh, the lunch menu is all about meat...I guess I'll try the barbecue lunch (`・ω・´) The menu offers Kalbi or Harami in various sizes. I choose the Harami in the smallest size. The owner turns on the gas and lights the fire with a torch. It's a nostalgic sight but a little scary... (laughs) The restaurant is decorated with many celebrities' autographs, and there are also notes saying they visited. The lunch that arrives is huge! Six small side dishes!! And a bowl filled with rice! The meat is thick and doesn't look like a small portion at all...I need to be prepared to tackle this (`・ω・´) First, while grilling some meat, I start with the side dishes. The seasoned bean sprouts and kimchi are spot on, so delicious! The Kakuteki and daikon namasu are also perfectly seasoned and tasty! I need to eat less of the sides and rice, or I'll get full on meat alone. Then, the meat keeps grilling. I take a bite...So tender and delicious! This meat is perfect for meat lovers, you can eat it up quickly! It's thick but tender, no gristle, easy to chew, perfectly seasoned, and goes well with rice! I focus on the meat and rice, leaving the side dishes for later. The tongs are short, so it was a bit challenging to flip the meat when the grill got hot towards the end (laughs) I manage to finish the meat and rice, but I give up on the sides (;∀;) I take a bite of the blackish item I hadn't touched, and it tastes like seaweed tsukudani, so delicious! If I had eaten the rice with this, maybe I would have had a bit more space in my stomach...I shouldn't judge by appearance. I need to taste everything with my own palate. This quantity and quality at this price is reasonable! If you come with a meat lover and have them help with the meat while you enjoy the seaweed tsukudani rice, that would be great (*´▽`*) Thanks for the meal!

After visiting the Western Art Museum, I craved for yakiniku and headed to this place in Higashi Ueno. It was a Sunday, but since it was after 1:30 PM, we were able to get in easily. The meat here is top-notch. I ordered the harami (skirt steak) platter and ribeye. They offered unlimited rice refills, so I kept the cycle of meat -> beer -> rice -> meat -> beer -> rice going, completely engrossed in grilling. The person next to me had ordered a large portion and it was truly impressive.

A popular restaurant among yakiniku lovers, often mentioned on TV. I was intrigued by the Geta Salt dish that everyone talks about, so I made a reservation and went. Located in the Little Korea Town in Higashi Ueno, this area is full of atmospheric restaurants. The restaurant still maintains a Showa-era smokey interior, so it's best to wear clothes and bags that you don't mind smelling. Before opening, there were two groups waiting. Three groups were seated as soon as it opened, with only one mother taking orders and one man in the kitchen, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The specialty Geta Salt was described as having a strong salt flavor. I wanted to start with a drink, so I ordered without rice. I also ordered the lean meat and harami with sauce, along with the tripe sashimi and bean sprout namul, and some makgeolli. The makgeolli came in an empty beer bottle, adding to the ambiance. The food was delicious. The tripe sashimi was generous in portion, the bean sprout namul was average. The lean meat and harami were lean and very tender. The Geta Salt, which was the main attraction, didn't look impressive before grilling, but it turned out to be delicious after grilling. It was surprisingly tender and the strong salt flavor paired well with it. While the Geta Salt was tasty, I'm not sure if I would come all the way to Ueno just for it. The fact that the other meats were marinated in sauce and my personal preference for salted meat might make me hesitate to revisit.

We visited the restaurant for lunch on a weekday, halfway through the Golden Week holiday. We arrived 30 minutes before opening to secure the first spot in line (there were about 7 groups waiting by the time they opened). While waiting, we browsed a kimchi store with a similar line. We ordered a generous portion of kalbi, a mountain of harami, salted beef tongue, and beer. The meat was delicious, and the side dishes were also tasty, making for a satisfying lunch experience.

I visited for lunch on a regular day. I had never gone for yakiniku alone before, unless it was at a chain restaurant, but I guess that's what being an adult is all about (laughs). It was a bit late (around before 2 pm), so I was able to get a table right away. I ordered the second from the bottom out of the 4 options, and it was quite a generous portion. It was delicious.

🔲 Intense Battle of Yakiniku 🔲🔲 Yakiniku Lunch 🔲 I usually prefer going to yakiniku restaurants at night to enjoy a variety of yakiniku menus, side dishes, and drinks. So, having lunch at a yakiniku restaurant is rare for me, but I decided to try out a place that I had been curious about! They offer options like "Harami Lunch" and "Kalbi Lunch," where you can choose the amount of meat you want. Free rice refills are available, and the set also includes a variety of side dishes like namul, kimchi, and soup. It's a voluminous and great value meal. It was delicious! I definitely want to come back for dinner!! #Yakiniku Lunch #Umayamakan #Umayamakan Lunch #Ueno Gourmet #Ueno Lunch #Okachimachi Gourmet #Okachimachi Lunch #Ueno Yakiniku #Meat Heaven

I visited for a late lunch. It's more like Higashi-Ueno than Ueno. It seems they are not using the second floor now, so there are only 4 seats available. I had to wait for about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the kalbi was sold out, so I ordered the harami lunch and a la carte items like salt, tongue salt, and keijan. The lunch comes with 6 pieces of meat and small side dishes, along with wakame soup. The lunch portion of meat was a huge 240g, which seemed to never decrease! I was able to fully enjoy the yakiniku. Next time, I want to try the kalbi. I will visit again.

The taste is just delicious!!! It makes you crave for rice! Also, the makgeolli is delicious!! Since the restaurant is small, I think it's better to make a reservation before going. In the future, I have decided to definitely try the beef tongue, raw cow stomach, and mixed hormone.

Mitomi Emon's gourmet site has started. Homepage "https://blog.33inc.jp/" Instagram "@mitomi_emon" Do you know where the oldest Korean town in Tokyo is located? Many people might think it's Shin-Okubo, but the answer is actually the Higashi-Ueno area. The Korean town was formed shortly after the war, and its history continues to this day, with many yakiniku restaurants and Korean grocery stores lining the small alleyways. By the way, the name of the alley is Kimchi Yokocho. One of the establishments that make up this small Korean town, "Mazankaku," is today's destination. Karubi or Harami? The lunch menu is basically a choice between these two. You can choose the amount of meat from four options: Kachimori (290g), Yamamori (240g), Okamori (190g), and Komori (90g). In addition to the main meat, it comes with 5 types of panchan. The abundance of Korean-style appetizers makes the set meal luxurious. I chose the Okamori portion, which was quite substantial. The sweet garlic-flavored sauce, combined with the meat, makes the rice disappear quickly. Rice refills are free. Enjoy old-style yakiniku in the oldest Korean town in Tokyo! Thank you for the meal.

About a 10-minute walk from Ueno Station, I visited Matsukansan again, this time for lunch. I ordered a plate full of harami (skirt steak) and enjoyed it with a beer in the middle of the day. Watching the harami sizzling in front of me was truly the best. It was a moment of bliss. The rare harami was delicious enough on its own, but when paired with rice, it was even better. I had a wonderful meal. Thank you!

I heard rumors so I went for lunch. There were a lot of celebrity autographs, so I had high expectations, but hmm, the taste was just average and the portion size felt a bit small for the price. I didn't feel very satisfied. The thing that bothered me the most was the smoke! As soon as I opened the door, even though there was only one other customer, the inside of the restaurant was filled with smoke. The ventilation was poor. Once I started eating, another person came in, making a total of three customers, yet the smoke was billowing, making my eyes feel like they were stinging. I ended up smelling like smoke all over my body. It was also hot and I was sweating a lot. It doesn't seem like I'll be visiting again.

I have visited many yakiniku restaurants in the Ueno area. However, one place I had not been to yet was "Mazan-kan" in Koreatown in Higashi Ueno, also known as "Kimchi Street". It is a popular spot with a constant line of customers waiting for it to open. On my first visit, I had to wait in line with 8 other people before we could be seated. The restaurant had a traditional feel, with walls decorated with autographs of famous people, indicating its popularity. For lunch, I chose the Harumaki Oomori, a 190g portion of marbled beef for 1,900 yen. The harumaki was tender and flavorful, and the side dishes of kimchi, kakuteki, and namul were also delicious. It was a unique experience to enjoy yakiniku without a smoke exhaust system. The meat was tender, the sauces were tasty, and the sound of the meat sizzling on the grill added to the overall atmosphere.

I visited for the first time! First, I went for lunch. I ordered the Harami steak set lunch (290g) from the lunch menu. The meat was thick and well marinated with sauce. When I ate it, it was tender but had a firm texture, giving a real meaty feeling. Personally, I prefer Harami over Kalbi. I also ordered Geta salt and Kalbi as single items. The Kalbi was average, but the Geta salt was amazing. It had a strong salty flavor and is a perfect side dish for beer. I ate too much for lunch and now I feel like taking a nap. Next time, I want to visit slowly in the evening without rushing.

About 5 minutes from Ueno Station. I went to Mr. Umayama's restaurant. The place was packed. I decided to try the Harami here on my friend's recommendation. They offered different sizes - small, medium, large, and extra-large - and I ordered the large. The thick Harami, marinated in a sweet sauce, was tender and very delicious. It came with a variety of side dishes, making me want to have a beer even though it was still daytime. I'll definitely come back here when I crave delicious yakiniku during the day!! Thank you for the meal! (^^)

It was a sunny afternoon in Ueno. I wasn't specifically aiming for a barbecue place, but I hadn't eaten anything until past noon. To vent my frustration, I decided to head out into the city. I took the Hibiya Line and got off at Ueno Station, already past lunchtime. "Alright, let's eat some meat!" When you think of Ueno, you think of meat. Chinese food and tonkatsu are great, but meat is the real deal here. The entrance of the restaurant emitted a strong and appetizing smell, so I didn't hesitate to go in. What's this? There are only four tables! The threshold seems high. Oh, the right side has a raised seating area, indeed, it's a bit fancy. Such a silly thing to write about, wasting almost 300 characters. I ordered the Harami Lunch (Hill Size) for 1,900 yen. The Hill Size is 190g. Additionally, the "Mountain Size" is 240g for 2,400 yen, and the "Victory Size" is 290g for 2,900 yen. The gas roaster is on the smaller side, just right for one person. Let's start with the kimchi. It's sweet, almost like it has honey in it. And then the spiciness kicks in at the end. The pickled vegetables are on the less sweet side. Isn't the number of plates a bit much? I noticed on the menu that although you can't get a large portion of rice, you can have unlimited refills. Should I go for a refill before grilling the meat? Harami is less fatty compared to kalbi (probably), so it's less likely to flare up. Let's grill it using all corners of the roaster. Harami has a good chew to it, being the diaphragm of the cow. It's now like the representative of meat from the offal category. Not too fatty, so it's popular even among women. Eating delicious food really boosts my energy! Thank you for the meal. ===========

Good job! This is AdaLog. Lunch at Harami Lunch Yama Mori ¥2,400 (tax included). Located in Ueno's Koreatown, also known as Kimchi Yokocho, is the barbecue restaurant "Mazan-kan". Visited on a holiday around 13:30 for lunch. The interior of the restaurant is filled with smoke. The walls are aged, with aged colored paper lining the walls. The first floor consists of table seats and raised tatami mat seating, giving off a traditional town barbecue vibe. The lunch menu offers two options: Kalbi and Harami. The price increases based on the amount of meat. I ordered the "Harami Lunch Yama Mori" for ¥2,400, which comes with a mountain of 240 grams of meat. The order arrived in about 3 minutes. The tray included a mountain of Harami, 6 side dishes, rice, seaweed soup, and barbecue sauce. The amount of Harami is impressive, and the variety of side dishes like Namul, Kimchi, and seasoned seaweed is delightful. It seems like the meat is freshly thawed, with a chewy texture and a decent amount of lean meat. The seasoning is on the stronger side, typical of town barbecue, but not as intense as expected. Dip it in a slightly spicy sauce, pair it with rice, and enjoy. Free rice refills are available. Considering the quality of the meat, it's hard to say if it's worth the price, but if you're craving a mountain of barbecue for lunch in Ueno, give it a try.

I went on a business trip to Ueno! When I searched for a yakiniku lunch, Maruyamakan was at the top! I couldn't get in on a holiday as there was a long line, so I had to give up. The next day, Friday, there was only one group, so I was able to get in right away. The interior of the restaurant has a traditional style with no ducts, creating a smoky atmosphere. I ordered a 290g kalbi with plenty of namul on the side. The taste and quality of the meat were reasonable for the price. I like the old-fashioned atmosphere of the restaurant. There are many yakiniku restaurants to explore in Ueno and Okachimachi, so I would like to come back for a rematch.

Uenostation, just south of Showa Street. It feels like an old row house area. In this block, there are yakiniku restaurants, kimchi shops, etc. The restroom is shared in this block. It was probably built after the war. In this nostalgic setting is Umayamakan. For lunch, the price varies based on the amount of meat, with the Karubi Lunch Mountain serving for 2300 yen. This is a place where you'd want to visit in casual clothes. The smoke is thick and the smell will definitely stick to your clothes. But eating yakiniku in the smoky atmosphere is nostalgically nice! The meat marinated in sweet sauce is also reminiscent of the past.
