Akihabara. A hidden izakaya that my friend reserved for us, located about a 2-minute walk from the Showa-dori exit. The restaurant is underground, with a dimly lit sign above ground, making it hard to find. I visited with my usual group of friends, known as the "Itsumen" (laughs), consisting of three people. According to reviews on Tabelog, it seems to boast the best cost performance in Akihabara. We started with a toast with draft beer, although the brand was not specified, it seemed like a malt beverage. Orders were placed through a QR code link, which we, being modern individuals, easily handled. We ordered:
- Tomato Platter: The plating was not as stylish as expected, more like tomatoes casually served from a grandmother's garden. However, the taste of the tomatoes was good.
- Skewers: We ordered white liver and seseri skewers, which had a rich charcoal flavor reminiscent of a festival stall. It was delicious, but slightly lacking in salt.
- Chicken Sashimi Platter: The texture was not great, and the taste was mediocre. Personally, I found it to be just okay.
- Strong Lemon Sour: Since the first beer wasn't great, we ordered the Strong Lemon Sour, a common frozen lemon sour. However, there was too much lemon, making the sour taste weak.
We then ordered a pitcher of highball for 2000 yen, which seemed like a good deal in terms of quantity. However, upon reflection, the prices for drinks and food were not as cheap as expected. The regular sours were around 500 yen, and the Mega Highball was 800 yen, which felt slightly pricey. Overall, the cost performance may not be as great as advertised, so it might be better to opt for a course menu. The interior had a good atmosphere, but personally, I don't see myself returning. Thank you for the meal!
