Akihabara visit for a biryani lunch at a recommended restaurant. The stairs are narrow and steep, so be careful. On September 10th, Sunday, around 11:35 am (5 minutes after opening), there were no customers ahead of us, and 3 groups of customers came in after us. The restaurant is run by one person. You have to serve yourself water in paper cups. The restaurant has shared seating, but since we were the first customers, we got a separate table. The lunch menu only had biryani available that day, with options for Chicken Biryani, Tuna Biryani, or a mix of both for 1,000 yen each. We ordered the Chicken and Tuna mix. The food arrived in about 10 minutes, topped with raw sliced purple onions, accompanied by raita and pickles. The biryani was fluffy and flavorful, with the chicken having a stronger taste. The raita was unique and delicious. We wished there was a bit more food. The portion size was decent, and even my husband, who usually eats a lot, was satisfied. We didn't check if they offered a larger portion. We paid in cash at the counter where the owner was present, and there was no receipt given. Everyone had wanted to add Keema curry as a topping, but unfortunately, it was not available that day. It seems to be a popular choice. Since it's a one-person operation, you need to call out your order to the kitchen. The owner's voice was a bit hard to hear, so you need to speak up. Overall, it was a good meal.

Today, I visited Akihabara. I had always wanted to visit this shop. I arrived after 9 pm, and unfortunately, they had already run out of Biryani. I was hoping to get some feedback from my companion who could have tried the Biryani, but oh well. Due to my rice allergy, I ordered the following beers:
- WBC The Voidmaster Ced: Boss 03 → First drink! I love IPA.
- Uchu Brewing Green Nebula → Doesn't taste very strong in alcohol content, has a tropical feel, very tasty.
- Minamishinshu Beer Yamasohop → Ordered as my third drink. Has a juicy grape flavor, doesn't taste very alcoholic, so be careful not to drink too much! For snacks, I had pickles and chicken cabbage in a larb gai style, among others. The beer goes down smoothly. Although I visited during business hours, it was quite late, so I worried if I inconvenienced them. Next time, I'll come earlier. It was a very enjoyable time. Thank you very much. Itadakimasu!

As the name suggests, this place is a fusion of beer, otaku culture, and spices. It's a must-visit for biryani and curry lovers, as well as spice enthusiasts and beer connoisseurs. I went alone and here's what I ordered on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 8:49 pm:
- Chicken Biryani (with a bit of tuna biryani)
- Larb-style minced chicken with cabbage
- Apple juice
The larb-style minced chicken with cabbage was a tasty twist on Thai larb, with a refreshing herb flavor that would make a great beer snack. The chicken biryani was not the typical pakki style but more like kacchi biryani, based on Hyderabadi biryani. It had a good balance of spices like cumin, cardamom, and mustard seeds, with juicy chicken and flavorful basmati rice. The tuna biryani was surprisingly delicious, with no fishy taste and a rich tuna flavor. I enjoyed it with apple juice.
"BEER OTAKU SPICE" is a unique spot that opened in Akihabara on April 29, 2023. It's run by Mr. Ogata, who previously operated "CRAFT BEER HOUSE KIWI" in Takaido. The first floor is a brewery, while the dining area is on the second floor. They currently serve craft beers from other breweries but plan to introduce their own brews soon. With a great selection of biryanis and spicy dishes, this place is a paradise for beer lovers and foodies alike. The cozy atmosphere and geeky touches make it a fun and welcoming spot. I highly recommend it.

Lunch offers only "Today's Biryani" with choices of "Chicken" and "Tuna", both priced at 1,000 yen each. You can also get a mixed plate. In the evening, it transforms into a beer bar, which seems to be the main attraction. The storefront has a blue banner that reads "Craft Beer, Ethnic & Spicy Cuisine". The restaurant is located on the second floor up a narrow staircase. The interior is quite compact, and the owner runs the place alone. I ordered the "Chicken and Tuna Biryani Mixed Plate for 1,000 yen". I tried to add "Half Keema Topping for 150 yen", but it was already sold out. The mixed plate arrived on a large white dish, and it was hard to distinguish between the Chicken and Tuna at first glance. The lighter color seemed to be Tuna. The Biryani had a light and fluffy texture, thanks to the Basmati rice used. It was delicious and not heavy at all. The raw onions added a nice touch, and the cilantro was great for flavor variation. The slightly darker Chicken had a spicy kick and a crunchy texture from the spices. Occasionally, you would get a burst of flavor from the spices when you bit into them. Mixing the yogurt sauce provided a refreshing contrast. Despite the generous portion, it was not heavy, and I finished it quickly. It is said that the Biryani pairs well with craft beer, making it a great choice for a beer accompaniment in the evening!

The biryani looks delicious. [Order] Today's biryani (yellowtail) half size 650 yen + keema curry 150 yen Break Edge 200ml 780 yen Toteopia 150ml 780 yen. A delicious biryani that allows you to taste the yellowtail fish. It's rare to encounter a seafood biryani, and it tastes fresh. I want to try the full size next time. The raita has a greenish hue. The keema curry didn't leave a lasting impression. It's nice that they serve craft beer in small quantities.

Visited for lunch on Saturday as the second stop. Arrived around 12:40 PM with 2 customers already seated. Sat at a table with 3 rows in a school-style setup, at the right end of the second row, and looked at the menu. Today's biryani options were chicken for 1,000 yen and tuna for 1,000 yen. They also offered a mixed biryani for 1,000 yen, so I ordered that. I also requested a keema curry topping for an additional 150 yen. They asked about the coriander, and I confirmed that I wanted it. The biryani arrived after a 6-minute wait. The chicken biryani was on the left, and the tuna biryani was on the right, with pickles, raita, and keema curry on top. They didn't bring water at this point. Since it's a craft beer place, I wondered if I needed to order a beer. Later, I noticed a self-service water station next to the tables in the first row, which I hadn't seen or been told about. The pickles included carrots, cucumbers, and radishes. The biryani had red onions and coriander on top. The two biryani options had different spice levels, with both being mildly spicy. The chicken was saltier compared to the tuna, and the sweetness of the fried onions was nice. The keema curry topping was spicy with a hint of cardamom. I added the raita and keema curry to the biryani halfway through, and felt that a bit more would have been better. I plan to visit for dinner next time. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant, which offers craft beer brewed in-house and spicy dishes, recently relocated from Takaido, Suginami-ku to Taito-ku, with Akihabara Station as the nearest station. The name of the restaurant incorporates the word "OTAKU," inspired by Akihabara. For lunch, they serve homemade "Biryani," with options like Chicken Biryani and Tuna Biryani. The reviewer arrived early this time to secure a serving, as it sold out quickly last time. The Biryani is cooked with a unique blend of ingredients, with the option to add Keema curry on top. The flavors vary between the Chicken and Tuna Biryani, both filled with rich flavors and aromas in every bite. The reviewer was pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness of the seafood Biryani, made with ingredients like Amberjack and Salmon. Overall, a satisfying dining experience.

Craft beer and spice cuisine restaurant OTAKU. The store has moved from Takaido to Akihabara. The interior on the second floor is simple, with a counter facing the kitchen with 3 seats, 6 tables for 2 people, and 1 table for 4 people. For lunch, they offer biryani. On this day, they only had tuna biryani available, with the option to add keema as a topping.
- Tuna Biryani (1,000 yen tax included) with a lighter. Just like Japan's seafood mixed rice, seafood biryani never disappoints.
- Topping: Keema (150 yen tax included). This keema was quite delicious! It's a place worth trying in the new location of Akihabara.

I got to know this restaurant through kuch_'s review. The restaurant opened on 4/29, focusing on beer. Currently, they offer beers sourced from elsewhere, but they plan to start brewing their own beer by the end of the year. For lunch, they specialize in serving only Biryani. The location is on Showa Street, between Takashina and Sankyosports. The Biryani options for the day were Tuna (1,000 yen) or Chicken (1,000 yen). I chose Tuna and opted for the mixed plate (1,000 yen). The restaurant is located on the second floor, with a cozy interior. I was the only customer at the time. The Biryani was served on a large plate, with Tuna Biryani in the front and Chicken Biryani in the back. Both were topped with sliced purple onions and coriander. I found the Tuna Biryani delicious, with the taste and aroma of tuna spreading in my mouth with each bite. The Chicken Biryani had a whole piece of bone-in chicken, which was tasty but I preferred the Tuna Biryani. Both dishes were served with raita on the side, which added a nice touch. Overall, the Biryani was tasty but a bit mild for my taste. Maybe adding Keema would make a difference. Wishing them success in the future. Thank you for the meal.

This is a beer bar located in a back alley off Showa Street in Akihabara. The name of the bar is very straightforward - Beer Bar Spice Otaku. They serve curry, biryani, and other spicy dishes to enjoy with beer. I started with Kai Parow, Thai-style braised pork. It has a strong salty flavor from the fish sauce, with a nice balance of sweetness and chunks of tofu adding a nice touch. I also tried the daily special biryani with tuna. It was a light and refreshing biryani with lean tuna meat. They also offer toppings like keema for the biryani, but unfortunately, it was sold out on the day I visited. I will definitely come back to try the keema dishes.

I found a sign that said "BEER OTAKU SPICE" right behind Takosan's workplace. Upon investigation, it seems to be a craft beer and ethnic & spice cuisine restaurant opening on 4/29, a few days later. I visited the place on a Saturday night after it had been open for a while. The location can be confirmed on Tabelog. The store is on the second floor, and it looks like a renovated private house with quite a tight seating arrangement, which might feel a bit cramped during busy times. I ordered a beer, and they had six types available. I tried the "Epic Big Bad Baptist" for 1,250 yen (300ml), but you can also order 150ml for 780 yen. The stout had a rich coffee and cocoa aroma, with an alcohol content of about 11%, giving it a strong taste. They served a hummus & crackers appetizer for 220 yen, which comes with a charge for the night. The food takes a bit of time, so I enjoyed it slowly with my beer. They had dishes like the daily biryani, Thai-style dishes, and beer bar classics. I ordered the "Chicken Mince Cabbage in Larb Style" for 600 yen, which was a Thai salad variant. The cabbage's crunchiness paired well with the beer. For the main, I ordered a half-size of the "Amberjack Biryani" for 650 yen with an additional "Keema Curry" for 150 yen. The biryani had a gentle flavor, allowing the amberjack's taste to shine through. The keema was juicy with mild spiciness, perfect for adding variety to the biryani. I also had another round of the "Epic Big Bad Baptist" for 780 yen (150ml) because I enjoyed it so much. Overall, it was a great experience, and I might come back again to enjoy a leisurely drink. Thank you for the meal!

The biryani tuna lunch for 1,000 yen comes in two varieties, and you can also mix them together. I was disappointed that the keema curry topping was sold out. The taste is flavorful with a good amount of spices and cilantro, making it delicious. The portion size is quite generous, but I would have liked to pay extra for a larger portion if possible. It seems a bit challenging when the restaurant gets crowded due to being short-staffed. Since it is still newly opened, the fact that water is served in paper cups for self-service is understandable. I would like to visit this restaurant again.
