*2020.06 Revisit* (143rd visit in 2023/52 new shops) Today, I went for a late lunch at this place. It's a sister restaurant of the former Rokkaku family. Musashikaya, the main branch in Shin-Nakano, is not related to this place as it is from Takasago family. It didn't feel like it had been that long since my last visit, but looking at my previous review, it's been about 3 years. I parked at a nearby coin parking and arrived around 3 pm. The ramen costs 780 yen, and I added extra seaweed for 120 yen. I asked for the noodles to be firm. There were 2 customers before me and 2 after me. The place was run by 3 men. Interestingly, there was a white foreign staff member named Haru in training. In the kitchen, there were 3 large pots and 2 medium pots. I didn't see the noodle box, but I think they use Sanpoya noodles. The noodles were lifted with a flat sieve. Surprisingly, it only took 3-4 minutes to serve the ramen. The seaweed was slightly open. First, the soup. It's a balanced type. There was a good amount of chicken oil floating on top, giving a subtle aroma. From the first sip, there was a strong animalistic taste. The soup wasn't very thick, but there was a slight roughness to it. The pork bone flavor was noticeable but not overpowering, with a good dashi taste. It felt slightly lighter today, maybe due to the timing. Despite that, it had enough richness and umami. It wasn't heavy in a way. The soy sauce flavor was a bit strong, but today it was just the right amount of saltiness, not too salty, and matched the soup well. The balance was more restrained in terms of pork bone and soy sauce flavors compared to last time. It had a strong animalistic taste but was easy to drink. The Sanpoya noodles were slightly thick, flat, and on the shorter side. They were cooked firm as ordered, with good elasticity and texture. The chashu was made of pork shoulder, a normal size with good thickness. It was surprisingly tender and melty today. The seasoning was just right. There was a generous amount of spinach, soft but with its original flavor intact. I added 10 extra seaweed sheets for 120 yen. The large, beautiful black-green seaweed had a strong flavor even when soaked in the soup. It had a good texture and flavor. The pre-cut leeks were a suitable amount, adding a good crunch and spiciness as a nice accent. Overall, the soup was easier to drink today compared to last time, which I personally enjoyed. Some people might not like the animalistic taste. The service was also good. Thank you for the meal. [Seaweed rating = 3.8] ・Cost performance = 3.5 @17.1 ・Size = 4.0 ・Thickness = 3.5 ・Strength = 4.0 ・Flavor = 4.0

Late-night ramen spot for a nightcap. Surprisingly busy even though it's late at night. This was my first time here, so I kept it simple and ordered the ramen. I asked for the noodles to be firm and the flavor and oil level to be normal. I like ramen with a strong pork bone smell, and this soup was just that, exactly to my liking. The noodles were thick and chewy, really delicious. One unique feature was that the noodles were short and easy to eat! I didn't know short noodles could be so convenient to eat. The soup also didn't splash around much, which was great. I'm not an expert, but as an amateur, I really enjoyed it. Thanks for the meal!

Late-night ramen at Musashiya in Kichijoji. Ordered the Kichijoji Special. The toppings were cold, so the soup was quite lukewarm when served. The soup lacked depth and richness, yet had a strong animal smell. It felt like a thin broth with a strong smell, giving a personally unsatisfying experience. Thank you for the meal.

[Product] → Press the button on the top right corner of the ticket machine (limited to Kichijoji). A luxurious ramen appears. Can you defeat it? [Price] → Finished work for the day. Ate to my heart's content. So sleepy. Will do my best again tomorrow at a reasonable price. [Atmosphere] → The lights are shining brightly, drawing me in. It's a trap, but still satisfying. [Conclusion] → By the way, the staff at the ramen shop seem so friendly. Is it just my imagination? Thank you for the meal! I'm glad I chose this shop from the many options. It was very delicious. I will definitely visit again!

The staff's service was good. The draft beer for 300 yen and canned beer for 250 yen, along with the cabbage for 150 yen, were delicious and perfect for drinking. Right now, they are even cheaper. However, the ramen had a slight pork smell to it. I feel like it's been like this for a while. The rice is all-you-can-eat, which is great.

Visited around 11 PM on a regular day. The restaurant was about 80% full. Ordered ramen and flavored egg. The dishes arrived in about 10 minutes. The taste was a typical house-style ramen. For some reason, the noodles were shorter than usual. Maybe I got the noodles from the edge... Enjoyed the comforting taste as I ate. About 2/3 of the way through, I added some doubanjiang and garlic for a flavor change. I usually add about a teaspoon of each, but the taste ends up being similar each time. Delicious, but starting to feel a bit repetitive. Still, the consistent deliciousness led me to finish the meal. Thank you for the meal. Although I'm not used to eating house-style ramen, the impression was of a standard house-style taste.

I went on Saturday afternoon and it was not crowded. I ordered a medium-sized ramen and a 100 yen rice. The ramen was to my liking. I could also enjoy changing the taste by adding pepper and garlic. However, I personally didn't like the rice being cooked in a self-service rice cooker that reminded me of a dorm or school. Next time, I will try the large size ramen and fully enjoy it!

Great taste! Late-night opening is a plus! I recently moved to Kichijoji and was hesitant to try this place due to the smell outside, but with no other options available and craving something hearty late at night, I mustered up the courage to give it a try. The result was a big success! The smell outside was almost non-existent, and the interior was a bit warm, but the taste more than made up for it. I will definitely visit again! Don't be fooled by the smell outside, it's a delicious restaurant as reviewed!

At Kichijoji Musashika, I had ramen with rice, cabbage, and canned beer to finish off the night. Musashika in Kichijoji is a different branch from the Musashika in Shin-Nakano. The one in Shin-Nakano has a rich tonkotsu flavor, while the one in Kichijoji is more of a standard taste. They have tables and cabbage, so you can have a drink there. It might be a bit much to go there as a way to end a night of drinking. #ramen #tsukemen #noodlestagram #rameninstagram #ramen #TokyoRamen #KichijojiGourmet #IekeiRamen #KichijojiMusashika #Musashika

Located behind Marui at the south exit of Kichijoji Station. Established in 1999, this ramen shop is part of the Musashike family, with several branches in different locations, but this one is the only directly managed store. I ordered the salted cod broth ramen, which was surprisingly light for a tonkotsu ramen. The salted cod flavor was subtle, so the pork bone smell was slightly noticeable. The noodles were on the softer side, which suited me as I'm not a big fan of tonkotsu ramen. The cabbage appetizer was perfect with its richness and garlic, making it a great companion for drinks. The rice was only 100 yen, and the appetizer was 150 yen, making the overall cost performance very good. I had a great time enjoying some daytime drinks. Thank you for the meal!

I went at 5:30 on Sunday and was able to get in easily. It's convenient that they accept PayPay. I really hope that cashless payments become more common at places like this, not just food tickets. I ordered the simmered dried fish salt ramen. The flavor of the dried fish came out well and it was to my liking. It has a milder taste compared to a certain nearby ramen shop, so I can choose a shop depending on the occasion.

Order of noodles with extra rich oil and firm texture. Today is a day off, so I ordered a canned beer! And it's only 300 yen! Very reasonable. The flavor is rich and I know it's not good for my health, but I can't resist the addictive taste. It's the kind of dish that makes you want to dip rice in the broth. Adding ginger or garlic changes the taste, so I recommend adding ginger in the middle and garlic towards the end for a really delicious experience! Definitely going to come back for more!

Shop Name: Musashika Location: 3 minutes walk from the south exit of JR Line/Keio Inokashira Line/Kichijoji Station Overview: A ramen restaurant specializing in house-style ramen, where you can enjoy unlimited rice for 100 yen. Recommended for those who want to enjoy hearty ramen and rice. Budget: Up to 1000 yen Crowdedness: Not crowded around 7:30 pm on weekdays Menu: - Ramen - Unlimited rice for 870 yen Impressions: Visited Musashika with friends to have a hearty meal. The attraction of unlimited rice for 100 yen is great. The rich-flavored ramen is a must with the rice. The soup is made from pork bone and chicken bones, with a golden color and a strong flavor. The noodles are from Mikawa Seimen, with a chewy texture and short length. The rice is self-served in a pot, using "Tsugaru Roman," a special A-grade rice from Aomori prefecture. While I had the image that rice at ramen shops tends to be sticky, this rice was delicious with each grain distinct and flavorful. The attention to detail, even with the rice, is why this place is popular and tasty. Thank you for the meal! Summary: - Rich pork bone flavor! - Unlimited rice for 100 yen! - Attention to detail even with the rice! SNS: I also share gourmet information on social media, so please follow me if you'd like. I went on a business trip to Tokyo and tried quite a few ramen noodles, and I now understand why Tokyo ramen is so delicious. The ramen here had a nice accent with three large sheets of seaweed, which made me want to add even more. It was a well-balanced ramen.

On weekdays, I usually go to the north exit, so when I went to the south exit in the early afternoon, the ramen shop I was looking for was unexpectedly closed. It was a weekend and I was struggling to find a place for lunch. I finally arrived at Musashiya, a ramen shop. I'm not a big fan of tonkotsu ramen, but this shop was easy to enter. Since it was a special order, I asked for the noodles to be firm and everything else to be normal. It was served in no time with plenty of toppings like seaweed and green onions. Since it's a tonkotsu ramen shop, there were mostly male customers ordering ramen with rice. It had been a while since I had tonkotsu ramen, but if you're looking for a hearty meal, this might be a good option. It was quite filling, and I struggled to finish it towards the end, adding some spiciness. I was worried if I could work after being so full.

I ordered Ramen Small with Kichijoji Mix and added double spinach and cabbage. I've been coming to this ramen shop since high school, and today the chashu was not as good as usual. But, as always, I enjoyed the ramen. I like it when I'm about 80% full like Komori.

Located a 3-minute walk from Kichijoji Station on the JR Chuo Line and Keio Inokashira Line. Exit from the Koen-guchi and head out onto Inokashira Street, then turn left at the corner before Don Quijote and the restaurant will be on the left side of the first corner. This ramen shop opened in 1999. It used to be located a little further east on Inokashira Street, but moved to its current location about 10 years ago. They mainly serve house-style ramen. The old shop used to be called "Yokohama Rokkaku-ke Sister Store," but now it has become independent as "Dokutsu-ke," and the old name has disappeared. I'm not sure why. I visited around 1:00 pm. There were 6 customers already seated and 4 more came in after me. It seems quite busy during lunch and dinner time, but it was fairly empty at this time so I decided to give it a try. I was also intrigued by the sign outside advertising "Agodashio Ramen." I purchased a ticket for the special Agodashio Kichijoji Mori Ramen. It was served in about 5 minutes. The slightly cloudy soup had thick slices of chashu, seasoned egg, spinach, 6 sheets of seaweed, white leeks, and mizuna. Under these toppings were curly medium-thick noodles. I wasn't expecting much from a house-style shop making agodashio ramen, but it was surprisingly delicious. The broth was slightly heavy with a bit of oil, but not overly rich. If you ask for a lighter flavor and less oil, it might be more enjoyable. The noodles were quite soft, so it might be better to request them firm. However, the Kichijoji Mori portion was too large, and I ended up feeling a bit uncomfortable. Also, if you don't order rice, handling the seaweed can be tricky. Since there aren't many appealing ramen shops in the area, this place could be a good emergency option with this flavor. If I have the chance to visit again, I will try the regular Agodashio Ramen with a light flavor, less oil, and firm noodles.

I had the Agodashi Shio Ramen with Kichijoji Mori for a late lunch at Marui, which I stopped by for a specific reason. It seemed like a house-style ramen, but with a light saltiness that caught my eye, so I went for that with the Kichijoji Mori option. The soup was indeed lighter compared to the usual Musashikasen's soup, as it was based on salt. The soup and toppings were the same, but I felt like the soup was a bit lacking in flavor, although it was still delicious. Adding some shichimi spice made it even better.

I had a half ramen for 680 yen with extra rich flavor, super oily, and soft noodles. I also added cabbage for 150 yen. The extra oil made it delicious! It was raining heavily late at night, but the place was still crowded with customers, which was impressive!

After drinking in Kichijoji, I went to a ramen shop that was open after 11pm and chose Musashika. I ordered the mini chashu ramen with seasoned egg and rice set! I wanted to eat rice too, but sometimes I can't eat too much, so it was a kind menu name for someone like me. It was really delicious!

I think I came here a while ago, but this is my first review so I'll consider it a new visit. I chose the ramen for 770 yen and rice for 110 yen, totaling 880 yen (I think?). I selected firm noodles and extra oil. The rice is self-serve and all-you-can-eat. The soup was delicious, but in comparison to other ramen places, it was on the milder side. Perhaps it was just the day and time I visited? The noodles were the typical short type found in ramen shops. Overall, the ramen seemed quite standard and didn't have any standout features. Personally, I prefer the wilder vibe of the branch in Meidaimae that I usually go to. I will come back if I have the chance.
