I'm currently hooked on the Shin-Tomi-machi area. This is a restaurant that serves Hakata-style fried chicken and Mizutaki (chicken hot pot), and today it seems to be full as a sign for preparing is displayed. The interior of the restaurant has about 7 counter seats and 7 table seats, it's small and the walkway is narrow, but once you sit down, you don't feel crowded, rather you feel calm. The owner runs the restaurant alone and despite being busy, they provide delicious food without any mistakes. There are no concerns about waiting time or anything. When you open the menu, you see Hakata-style fried chicken with sauce and yuzu pepper, fried young chicken, Himekko local chicken, Tunisian olive oil, and seaweed salt from Ama-no-hashidate, and the attention to detail makes you excited. Let's start with a beer. ◆ Chef's Choice Course (Mizutaki Course) ¥5,280 The meal begins with vinegar-miso. The ginger flavor is subtle, and the tripe has a crisp texture without any off-putting smell, making it a light and suitable appetizer for sake. ・Asparagus Tempura The sweetness stands out, and the tempura is fluffy and delicious. It's interesting that the course starts with seasonal vegetable tempura. ・Fried Young Chicken The skin is crispy and the moist and tender meat is packed with the umami flavor, making it juicy. Squeezing lemon on it makes it even lighter. ・Udo (Aralia Cordata) with Vinegar Miso Dressing The vinegar miso dressing makes it refreshing, and the sweetness of miso complements the saltiness well. ・Chicken Breast Tataki A voluminous tataki made of chicken breast. The variety of one-plate dishes leading up to the hot pot is amazing. The chicken breast is moist and the skin is crispy and fragrant when grilled. The seasoning is mild, so it pairs well with yuzu pepper, making it a great match for sake. ・Salad with French Dressing A salad appears as a palate cleanser. Various green and yellow vegetables with French dressing. This French dressing is incredibly delicious! If you were to order vegetables separately, this is a must-have! ・Mizutaki The soup is creamy and thick with the essence of chicken. It includes a variety of vegetables, using both Chinese cabbage and regular cabbage as the main vegetables, catering to both factions. The meat options are chicken and meatballs. The meatballs are light and fluffy. We ate, drank, and finished the soup before being asked if we wanted to finish with porridge. Embarrassingly, it was delicious, and we finished it all. We were able to top up the soup generously and finish with porridge. Despite being full, we managed to finish everything. Each dish was surprisingly delicious, and I couldn't decide which one was the main highlight. I had a beer at the beginning and about three glasses of shochu throughout the meal. With so many dishes, the alcohol went well before the hot pot. Reviews recommended the course, so I went with that, and it was the restaurant's recommendation, which was well worth the price and content. I was very satisfied.
