Kue or Ara... when it comes to hot pot, it's hands down my favorite fish. I first tried it about 25 years ago in Hakata. Until then, I didn't even know about Kue, but the moment I tasted it, I was impressed. I had been looking for a good restaurant in Tokyo for a long time, but none satisfied me as much as the famous ones in Hakata. However, I was surprised to find a restaurant near my home. They use large Kue caught near the Goto Islands, and they don't use frozen ones. I decided to order the Kue course without much expectation. The appetizers that came first were delicious, even for a big restaurant. Then came the thinly sliced Kue, which was different from other restaurants in Tokyo, with a firm texture and delicious taste. Although the ponzu sauce wasn't exactly to my liking, it was still delicious. Finally, the Kue hot pot arrived, with large pieces of Kue that were incredibly tasty due to their gelatinous quality. The only downside was that it didn't include the lips or eyes. The porridge was also very delicious. The dessert was a nice palate cleanser. I left the restaurant feeling full and extremely satisfied. For those who love Kue, this is one of the few recommended restaurants in Tokyo.

At a Tosa cuisine restaurant, many lunch sets come with bonito sashimi. The daily lunch set includes 3 slices of bonito sashimi, with braised pork as the main dish. It also comes with side dishes such as dried radish, miso soup, chawanmushi, and pickles, making it a perfect combination. The seating is spacious, and even if dining alone, they allowed me to use a table for 4 people. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I enjoyed the calm atmosphere and delicious food at this Japanese-style restaurant. The straw-grilled bonito was not only visually appealing but also tasted amazing. They have a wide variety of drinks and were accommodating to specific requests. The service was excellent, and I believe the cost performance is top-notch. I will definitely visit again.

This restaurant specializes in Tosa cuisine and is ideal for entertaining guests with its private rooms. The bonito straw-grilled (tataki) and sashimi are excellent. However, the course meals may seem a bit small in portion, which could be challenging for those with a big appetite. Also, the bonito simmered in soy sauce, which is available for takeout, is extremely delicious and makes for a great souvenir.

The bonito tataki here is incredibly delicious and hard to find elsewhere. The 1400 yen bonito tataki set meal is highly recommended. Additionally, the weekly special set for 1500 yen allows you to choose tataki with pork cutlet, offering great value. The only downside is that they only accept cash for individual payments, which could be improved. Lunch reservations require a minimum spend of 2000 yen per person, but the restaurant is spacious and can accommodate groups of around 10 people, especially if you arrive before noon.

This shop is located in Kochi, Shikoku. The course menu costs ¥8000, and drinks are à la carte, so I think it will cost an additional ¥5000. The dishes mostly consist of fish. The famous bonito tataki was really delicious! The unique somen noodles served as the finale were quite interesting!

I used this restaurant in Akasaka for a business dinner. I chose it based on the seat size, the appearance of the dishes, and the overall atmosphere, and it was really good. The staff, dressed in kimonos, were elegant, and the atmosphere was lovely. The waitress was cute and cheerful. We had the Katsuo-no-taki course meal, and the bonito dish was really delicious. The sashimi was also very tasty.

On this day, we had a meeting over lunch. Our business partner mentioned that they preferred Japanese cuisine, so we decided to go to a restaurant that serves refreshing "bonito tataki". Despite the scorching heat, we headed to the restaurant. 1. Exterior, atmosphere, interior of the restaurant: Located about a 5-minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station, the signboard displayed "Tosa Cuisine". The restaurant has a calm appearance with black walls. There are private table seats as well as sunken kotatsu seating. We chose a table seat on this day. The place is well maintained, bright, and clean, making it suitable for anyone to visit. 2. About the food: While there is a lunch course available, there are also set meals that include bonito tataki. I chose the "Washoku set meal with tempura". Soon, a large black oblong tray arrived with tempura, bonito tataki, side dishes, pickles, rice, and chawanmushi. First and foremost, the bonito tataki! The thick slices of bonito tataki, with its beautiful ruby color and unique umami flavor, were delightful. The smoky aroma from straw grilling and the mild ponzu sauce paired very well. The generous amount of condiments was also a highlight. Bonito tataki with garlic... they complement each other well. The freshly fried tempura, with crispy shrimp and fresh summer vegetables, provided a satisfying crunch. The sweet dried daikon radish and smooth-textured chawanmushi were also noteworthy. Each dish was carefully prepared, leaving a positive impression. The set meal was generous, and of course, I was full. 3. Staff service: The three young male staff members in the dining area were all attentive and provided a calm service. Their explanations of the dishes and drinks were clear, and the speed of serving was appropriate. There were no particular issues that caught my attention. 4. Value for money: Being able to easily enjoy the delicious "bonito tataki" in a set meal for lunch is appreciated, and all the dishes included in the set meal, such as tempura, were well-prepared. Considering the calm atmosphere of the restaurant and the reassuring service, I believe the value for money is good. 5. Other observations: Next time, I would like to try a set meal where I can fully enjoy the bonito tataki.

This restaurant serves Tosa cuisine, not just bonito tataki, but a variety of dishes in a course. The quality of the food is high, and everything tasted delicious. The bonito tataki is only finished at the end, but the atmosphere is great as they finish it by burning straw. We were a group of 4 and were able to eat in a private room, so we could have a peaceful conversation. The course cost 6600 yen per person, not including drinks, so it was around 9000 yen per person in total. The cost performance is not the best, but overall, it was a good experience.

I entered the restaurant right at the opening time of 11:30 am on a regular weekday, and it was pleasantly quiet. The lunch menu mainly consisted of bonito sashimi, with the option to add tempura or chawanmushi. I decided to keep it simple and ordered the bonito sashimi set for 1400 yen. As I tasted it, it was delicious! I thought it might be a bit late in the season for the first bonito, but it was still very tasty. The cost performance was also good. I am very satisfied.

It had been 6-7 years since my last visit. I decided to go with a former colleague, thinking that bonito would be in season. It was delicious whether eaten with salt or pickled. Today, I avoided sake thinking about tomorrow, but really, sake would have been perfect! I plan to go again soon.

Today's lunch was the Menchi Katsu set meal with 3 pieces of bonito sashimi for 1500 yen. The Menchi Katsu came with chawanmushi, pickles, and miso soup. I poured sauce over the Menchi Katsu and it was thick and crispy, delicious! It was 100 yen more expensive than the bonito sashimi set meal. Neoki from Akasaka Mitsuke. A long-established Tosa cuisine restaurant. This is the Tokyo branch of "Tsukasa" in Kochi Prefecture. "Tsukasa" is a well-known long-established Tosa cuisine restaurant even in Kochi. They have a large store in the city, and also a shop at Kochi Ryoma Airport. I have used the airport shop several times when I visited Kochi. This was my second visit to Neoki. It was my first time having lunch there. On this day, I had the "Kuroshio set meal for 2000 yen including tax" which included bonito tataki, Tosa-style chawanmushi, a side dish, rice, miso soup, pickles, and dessert. It was a nostalgic lunch that made me want to visit Kochi again. Thank you for the meal.

I had high expectations after seeing the appearance and reviews, but I was disappointed. Overall, the food was good but nothing stood out as exceptionally delicious. It didn't feel like a lot of effort was put into the dishes, and I left feeling unsatisfied (not enough food or drink) considering it cost around 7000 yen per person. However, the miso soup with Chinese cabbage that came as a complimentary starter was really delicious!

The ambassador of traditional Tosa cuisine, "Ne Ho Ki", is a long-established restaurant founded in 1917 in Kochi Prefecture. They expanded to Tokyo in 1972 to spread Tosa cuisine nationwide, and now have branches in Akasaka, Shinjuku, Ginza, Marunouchi, and Nihonbashi. I tried their bonito sashimi set meal (1250 yen) which came with five thick slices of bonito, grilled with a crispy skin and rare inside. The bonito was fresh and delicious, showcasing the charm of Tosa cuisine. Well done, Tosa cuisine ambassador! Thank you for the meal.

I really like the lunch at Nebokke, but it's been quite a while since I last went. I like the aji fry but they didn't have it, so I had the menchi katsu lunch for 1,150 yen. The menchi katsu is delicious. But the bonito sashimi is even more delicious. It's thickly sliced and there are only 3 pieces, but it's very satisfying to eat. Delicious! I want to go next time when they have aji fry.

Took a morning off for errands, had some time before heading back to work so decided to have lunch in the neighborhood. I was in the mood for fish, so I remembered Kochi and came to have bonito tataki. I chose the weekly set meal for 1280 yen, with the option of either pork cutlet or mackerel miso. I ended up choosing the mackerel miso. It was cooked elegantly and tasted delicious. The bonito tataki was not as lively as the one I had in Kochi, but the aroma of straw still brought back good memories. The chawanmushi was also rich in flavor and satisfying. I usually don't have the chance to have lunch outside on weekdays, so it was a nice change of pace.

I came with the attitude of "as long as I can eat bonito tataki, everything else is fine!" but everything was delicious! First, the squid appetizer! It was cooked at a low temperature, and the texture was amazing, the sauce was delicious, and I felt like I could eat it endlessly! The chilled soup was also rich in flavor! The eggplant with plum sauce, octopus with wasabi sauce, all the sauces were delicious. Also, all the dishes were cute! The small dishes in Japanese cuisine were all different, but they harmonized well, which lifted my spirits. The bonito tataki had a beautiful cut! The flesh was firm, so is it this beautiful? It had no fishy taste and had a meat-like texture! I want to visit Kochi Prefecture! The restaurant was spacious, clean, and had a luxurious feel. The servers were wearing kimonos and looked wonderful!
