I had the Oil-Drizzled Chicken Karaage Don. I was really craving some karaage, and since I have good memories of the karaage at Yoshinoya, I was looking forward to this visit. I used to rely on the side dishes from a bento shop called Hana, which is related to Yoshinoya, and they are known for their karaage and tori-age. The verdict is, it was decent, just passing grade. Among karaage specialty shops, it's average or slightly below, better than supermarket deli but not as good as Chinese restaurant karaage. The meat quality is okay, the frying is good, but the flavor of the coating wasn't as rich as I expected, and it felt like it was relying too much on the sauce or mayonnaise. My expectations were too high, so I ended up being critical, but it's still okay. I haven't had it recently, but the karaage from Matsuya Foods in the past was honestly not good, though maybe the karaage from Matsunoya has improved. Considering my bad impression, I still think Yoshinoya's karaage is tasty enough. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant is always crowded during lunchtime, so I usually just pass by, but today there was no line outside so I decided to go in. I ordered the regular beef bowl and miso soup, and as always, the taste was amazing. I don't know why it's so delicious, but I'm grateful that the taste remains consistent even if the prices go up. I had a satisfying meal today too. Thank you!

Today I ordered the seasonal grilled chicken bowl, indulging in the luxury of a half-boiled egg and miso soup on the side. It's the height of luxury. During lunchtime, the place is really crowded, and you have to wait in line on the left side of the restaurant. It's especially appreciated on rainy days. The grilled chicken is fragrant and slightly charred, truly delicious! The sweet and savory sauce coats the chicken generously, brightening up the lunchtime. Even though the restaurant is crowded, once you sit down and enjoy your lunch, the noise fades away. Today's meal was delicious once again. I'll definitely come back when the timing is right! Thank you for the meal!

It was always crowded and I couldn't get in, but when I found out that you could wait in line inside the restaurant, I decided to give it a try today. It had been a while, so I ordered something different from what I usually eat - a beef yakiniku bowl set with miso soup and pickles. It felt a bit extravagant, but I regretted it after eating. The beef yakiniku bowl exceeded my expectations with its tender and delicious meat, and the crispy parts added a nice flavor. I alternated between eating the bowl, pickles, and miso soup until I finished it all. Even though I struggled a bit with the amount of rice, I managed to finish it quickly without any trouble. I always seem to miss the less crowded hours, so I wonder when I can go again. I check every time I pass by. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I had the iron pot kalbi set meal. The way it is served has changed recently, with the kalbi and green onions being presented in a hot iron pot. The concept is that you can enjoy it hot until the end, but the downside is that it can get burnt if left on the hot plate for too long. Also, there is a lot of oil which cannot be completely removed, resulting in a greasy taste. It is delicious, but a bit too heavy for my liking. The kalbi sauce remains the same as before and is worth ordering on its own. There is also a kalbi bowl on the menu, but the set meal with salad and miso soup offers better value. I can't help but feel nostalgic for the previous kalbi set meal.

・I went to Yoshinoya for the first time in a while.
・I ordered the Kalbi set meal with a soft-boiled egg.
・I feel like the portion size might have gotten smaller. (Maybe they stopped offering free extra rice?)
・The taste was neither good nor bad.
・The price seemed to be the same as the last time I ate there.

I had the parent and child bowl (※discontinued) this time. Last time, I said that Hayashi was different but good in its own way, but this time I compared it directly to Nakau's parent and child bowl. The finish is clearly better at Nakau. Perhaps the difference comes from the processing, cooking system, and operation. The flavor was rich and the rice went down smoothly.

I stopped by after work earlier. The place has been newly renovated and looks beautiful. The food was served quickly and I was satisfied. If I had to say something, the impression of the staff working hard alone was very strong.

That day, I visited the restaurant in the early morning feeling hungry. I was torn between the morning set meal and the new menu item, Oyakodon. I decided to try the Oyakodon, which had a nice creamy texture from the eggs and was satisfying to eat. However, the flavor was a bit on the lighter side. It may appeal to those who prefer mild flavors, but personally, I found it a bit lacking in taste.

The live performance of the idol group Silly°Honey ended at 9:30 p.m., and by 10 p.m., most places had already stopped serving. But Yoshinoya was still open! Their 24-hour service is fantastic. I was really hungry, so I warmed up with a beef bowl. Beef bowls are the best. I had the Kimchi Beef Bowl without onions, hahaha. Thank you for the meal. Suu-chan, An-chan, Hane-chan, and Ruka-chan from Silly°Honey were all so cute. They are a step above as idol group. I will continue to support them in the future!

After finishing my afternoon plans, I took a break. Hmm, I'm feeling a bit hungry... I think I didn't eat enough for lunch. Oh, I remember I was curious about the menu next door! I went to "Yoshinoya Akihabara Store." It's located next to the Katsuya where I had lunch. When I looked at the storefront, I was surprised to see they were promoting fried chicken. And inside, the menu had expanded a lot! I used to think of Yoshinoya as just serving beef bowls and morning sets, so it was quite a surprise since it had been a while since I last visited. I remember the pork bowl they offered when there was a shortage of beef. Yoshinoya has really changed. I was there to try the "Kari-Gari Beef Curry (547 yen)," which was supervised by the winner of the Kanda Curry Grand Prix. It comes with a mini beef bowl. The curry had a slight spiciness and a hint of cumin. It was a bit thick with the ingredients well blended in. I should have added more beef. The portion was a bit small for me, but considering the price, it was just right. It did satisfy my hunger a bit. Thank you for the meal. If I want a hearty meal next time, I might try the Akiba Mori Curry at the Kari-Gari Akihabara Main Store with plenty of ingredients.

I had the Meaty Hayashi Rice for 657 yen. The regular Hayashi Rice is 547 yen, so for just a little over 100 yen more, you can enjoy the title of "meaty." The tangy flavor and rich beef taste are delicious. CoCo Ichi's Hayashi was also tasty. Mansei's Hayashi was good too. In other words, Hayashi is delicious. I noticed that Saizeriya's Hayashi is no longer available, which is a shame. I think Yoshinoya is able to make the most of being a beef bowl restaurant with their simple beef bowl. It's hard to compare it to Hayashi. Sometimes it gets compared to curry, which seems a bit unfair. Hayashi ==========

I'm currently obsessed with this Stamina Special Donburi! Yes, believe it or not, this bowl packs a whopping 2000 calories, almost double the calories of a regular beef bowl. It allows you to enjoy three types of meat - beef, pork, and chicken - all in one dish, which is very appealing. And the soy sauce-based sauce that brings them all together is so addictive. Plus, it's easier to eat than Jiro-style ramen, which is a big plus.

I enjoyed a quick and hearty breakfast. The fact that they had power outlets available was impressive. I was able to satisfy both my stomach and my smartphone at the same time.

At Yoshinoya for breakfast. They have a wide menu selection. I ordered the salmon and pork bowl set. The salmon was a bit dry, not too fatty. The taste was okay. The pork bowl was decent, typical of a rice bowl restaurant. However, the disappointing part was the basic rice and miso soup. The rice lacked flavor and the miso soup was too thin. Overall, it was a bit of a letdown. Perhaps I should have just stuck with the beef bowl. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Yoshinoya Akihabara branch on a holiday in May around 11 am. The restaurant is located about a 2-minute walk from Akihabara Station. The small interior was about 40% full. I sat alone at the counter and ordered the Beef and Salmon Set Meal for ¥602. It was served in about 5 minutes, consisting of beef, salmon, rice, and miso soup. I sprinkled chili pepper on the beef and added pickled ginger. The beef was served with plenty of sauce, which paired well with the rice. The salmon was smaller than expected and not too salty. The miso soup was on the lighter side but still flavorful. Although not the healthiest meal, I found it satisfying. The restaurant was relatively clean. While Yoshinoya offers a variety of menu options, I still prefer their classic flavors. The taste that makes you want to eat it again is there.

In the morning, I woke up feeling hungry. While commuting, I thought about what to eat. With limited time, I decided to stop by a beef bowl restaurant near the station. I ordered the Morning Beef Set for 459 yen. I had to choose one side dish, and I was torn between mini salad and half-cooked egg. I added pickled ginger and shichimi chili pepper to my meal. I think the rice here is slightly better than other beef bowl restaurants. I made the right choice by choosing the half-cooked egg over the mini salad. The mini salad didn't fit in.

Today was a busy day from morning till night! I was out doing sales, attending meetings, and doing desk work. I probably won't even have time to eat lunch, so I decided to go to Yoshinoya! I was surprised to see such a wide variety of menu options! There are so many more choices now compared to before, it's not the Yoshinoya I remember! Amazing!! I ordered salmon and beef, rice, and changed the miso soup to pork soup, and added extra natto and rice. I should have asked if it was free or not. But I had a delicious breakfast that really powered me up. Power charged!

Yoshinoya, known for its beef bowl, has revamped its curry menu and added a new menu item called "Nikudaku" which features an increased amount of beef on top of the beef bowl. I tried the Nikudaku beef curry along with a side of burdock root salad. The Nikudaku beef was delicious with a satisfying amount of meat. As for the curry, it seemed less rich compared to the previous version, with a more salty edge rather than a deep umami flavor. While Yoshinoya seems to be making efforts to compete with Matsuya in the beef bowl curry market, I personally feel that more drastic changes may be needed. However, for Yoshinoya fans, this new type of curry may be appealing. Overall, I couldn't help but think about various things while enjoying the meal.

Beef bowl set meal ¥498 excluding tax (commonly known as Sazanami). This place has a counter seat style with a diagonal layout. Unlike the previous place in Higashimatsuyama which had a solo study hall style, and Yoshigyu brings all the dishes to you. You can also get a discount with a coupon when paying afterwards, which is better than the system at M-ya. I like that the beef bowl here is very juicy, and you can enjoy it with egg over rice. I prefer to have less soy sauce and more meat when eating. Bon appétit!
