Curry (with egg) small ¥770 When you take a bite, it tastes sweet at first but then the spiciness slowly kicks in. This curry shop in Osaka has about 8 irregular counter seats scattered around. There are character figures with turbans on their heads, giving off a surprised expression, like "Even Indians would be surprised." When it comes to Osaka curry, you think of stainless steel plates. I ordered a small portion but it looked a bit bigger. The curry is a bit rough, and it comes with a raw egg yolk and Fukujinzuke already served. It tastes fruity and sweet at first, then the tongue tingles with spiciness. There's a generous amount of beef in it, tender and delicious. When you mix in the egg yolk halfway through, it becomes a slightly spicy egg rice dish. The mini carrot salad is also on the sweeter side and complements the gentle taste of Osaka curry.

It is located on Hitotsugi Street, walking from Akasaka Mitsuke Station towards Akasaka Station. The interior of the restaurant is filled with the aroma of spices and has only a counter. I ordered a medium-sized curry with fish fry. It looked quite delicious. The fish fry was hot, crispy, and had a strong presence. I was imagining a flat one, but this was a hit. The taste was fruity and sweet, with a good amount of spices. I enjoyed eating it with plenty of sauce. It was very delicious.

I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered a small size with egg topping. I heard that this restaurant was opened in Tokyo by the actor Kazuki Kitamura, who liked it in Osaka. I had been curious about it for a while. When I took the first bite, it was sweet! No, actually it's spicy! It was a new sensation for me. Mixing the egg and traditional red pickles was delicious too! It had a very complex and unique flavor. Although I'm not an expert on curry, I have never experienced such a quick shift from sweetness to spiciness before. The small amount of beef added a nice touch. I have tried a famous dry curry with egg in Osaka before, but personally, I was more surprised by this one. I might want to try this in Tokyo as well.

Had lunch in Akasaka at Osaka Madras Curry in the back alley of Akasaka Sacas. I ordered the small curry for 770 yen and added a cutlet for 250 yen. The curry, made by an Indian or Pakistani chef, was surprisingly delicious. It had a deep flavor with a hint of sweetness from fruits or honey, bringing out even more umami. By adding the spice blend (probably a type of red chili pepper), the curry transformed into a spicy dish. This Japanese curry made by an Indian chef in Osaka is addictive! 😂

Curry Rice / ¥880 - 300g. Comes with an egg. Surprisingly sweet first bite. Starts to feel spiciness and richness around the third bite. The wild taste of beef is quite good. More sweetness compared to other Osaka curries. Adjustments can be made with table spices. It is unexpectedly sweet, so it might be quite surprising if you eat it without knowing. Although it is almost not spicy, after about 10 minutes of eating, you start to sweat slightly due to the spices.

I entered around 1 pm without having to wait in line. I ordered the regular size curry, and first came the pickled carrots which were sour and delicious. The curry was very mild and you could adjust the spiciness with the spice powder on the table. The eggs were also delicious, it was the best!

I visited the restaurant for the first time before noon on a regular day. I had heard it was sweet but spicy, and it was indeed sweeter than expected, but it was just the right amount of sweetness for me. I ordered the medium size with tonkatsu, which I think is suitable for those who can handle a large portion. Each bowl was carefully made, so I recommend visiting when you have some extra time. I would like to visit this restaurant again.

I went to Madras based on reviews I read. The curry looked simple, but when I tried it, I was surprised. It was sweet at first, then spicy! Even though the reviews mentioned this, I had never eaten curry like this before. It was sweet and spicy, but delicious! I want to go back again. The restaurant only had a counter.

WOW! Amazing Madras curry at this restaurant. Personally, I always thought of curry as being more of a Western style, but this one really impressed me. The sauce has the perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness that makes it a delight to eat. I heard that the actor Kazuki Kitamura fell in love with the taste and became the owner of the restaurant. My go-to order is the medium portion with spinach topping. This curry always brings me a mix of happiness as I eat and sadness when it's all gone. I love it. Surviving in the competitive lunch scene in Akasaka is tough, but with its loyal fans, I hope this restaurant continues to thrive for a long time.

There is a curry restaurant in Akasaka owned by actor Kazuki Kitamura. It is a counter-only restaurant. The curry is similar to "Indian" curry with a fruity sweetness at first, followed by a spicy kick. It had minimal ingredients, but was delicious. I personally prefer a bit more spiciness, but there was chili powder on the table so it was good!

- Osaka Madras Curry, a hangover cure meal. It's been about 3-4 years since this curry restaurant opened in a small alley in front of TBS Akasaka. I had ordered delivery a few times during the pandemic when I couldn't go out much, but I realized I had never actually eaten at the restaurant. So, I decided to visit "Osaka Madras Curry." Apparently, the Tokyo Madras Curry is owned by actor Kazuki Kitamura. The fact that the Osaka Madras Curry was delicious and brought to Tokyo is quite appreciated. I wonder if the turban-wearing character is modeled after him. The restaurant is very small, with only a counter. - Featured Menu Items: Curry Small 770 yen Curry Medium 880 yen Curry Large 990 yen Tonkatsu 250 yen Mini Tonkatsu 150 yen Karaage (Japanese fried chicken) 220 yen Fried Oysters 200 yen White Fish Fry 200 yen Spinach 110 yen Shimeji mushrooms 110 yen Cheese 190 yen Fried Eggplant 150 yen There are various toppings available. The curry itself ranges from 770 yen to 990 yen, which is quite reasonable. This time, I chose the medium curry without any additional toppings. - Curry (Medium): First, a carrot salad was served. Since it's a counter-style restaurant, I watched as the curry was prepared in the back while waiting. The curry was served on a bed of rice, with only meat as the main ingredient and a yolk on top. The red pickles added a nice touch. The curry had a fruity sweetness followed by a spicy kick. It was a curry with a good balance of sweetness and spice. The rice portion seemed thin at first, but there was a substantial amount underneath. By the end, I was pleasantly full and satisfied. - Overall Impression: In conclusion, it was my first visit to this restaurant, and the curry was delicious! The balance of sweetness and spice was just right. The restaurant is a bit small, so it might be best to avoid peak hours to enjoy a leisurely meal without bumping into others. Overall, it was a great dining experience!

I had some free time during my business trip to Tokyo, so I took a trip to Akasaka. It's a sister restaurant of my favorite Madras curry place in Osaka. I ordered the usual curry with cheese, but without the egg that comes with it. It was delicious as always. The only downside was that the plates were made of metal. I prefer the large plates they use at the original restaurant.

Mito Miemon's gourmet site has started. Homepage "https://blog.33inc.jp/" instagram "@mitomi_emon" When it comes to curry, Osaka is currently the hottest spot. It is highly regarded as the birthplace of spice curry, with unique curry shops popping up one after another and spreading the culture nationwide. However, the history of spice curry is relatively recent, with its origins said to be in the 1990s. Of course, even before that, Osaka had a curry culture, and there are still long-established flavors being passed down to this day. Let's introduce one of them this time. Established in 1988, "Madras Curry" is one of them. Although founded in Osaka Nihonbashi, they currently have three stores in Tokyo. It has a silhouette similar to familiar Western-style curry, but the Madras style involves adding an egg yolk in the center. It is a topping, but almost all customers add an egg. It is said to be simmered for a week with 30 types of spices and 4 types of fruits, giving it a unique balance of spiciness and sweetness. Since it leans towards sweetness, adding the provided spicy seasoning is also a good option. Thank you for the meal.

Akasaka Station is a 3-minute walk away. I've been going in and out of Akasaka a lot lately, but I have no idea about the lunch options there, so I've been wandering around aimlessly. Some people say that the town is not as lively as before, but there are actually quite a few restaurants, and there are people around even during the day. In the midst of this, I discovered a restaurant that looked delicious! I was drawn in by its appealing aura. The restaurant had only counter seats and operated on a ticket system. I've been getting better at eating spicy food, but I still find small, independent curry restaurants a bit intimidating. I asked the staff if it was spicy, and they replied, "It's sweet but spicy." I also ordered tonkatsu, which arrived in about 6 minutes. The fact that a raw egg was normally included was also surprising. I cautiously mixed it in and took a bite. Wow! It's so sweet... incredibly sweet! Just when I thought it was sweet, the curry turned out to be extremely spicy. It hits you hard afterwards. My mouth was busy with the conflicting flavors. But surprisingly, I finished it and it was delicious. This curry was a mysterious dish that alternated between sweet and spicy from start to finish. And it was tasty! It left me wondering whether I would remember to eat it again a week later, reflecting on my personal feelings about this unique dish. Thank you for the meal.

I purchased a meal ticket from an external vending machine. Inside the restaurant, there is only a counter. Today's meal was a medium portion of pork cutlet with unique Madras curry. It is sweet and spicy. The sweetness stands out. When mixed with a raw egg, it becomes milder. There are various flavors of curry available nowadays.

Lunch was light, so I couldn't hold out until dinner. I decided to sneak out and head to my favorite spot, a restaurant opened by the actor Kikumaru Kazuki in Tokyo, known for its Osaka-style sweet and spicy curry. I ordered a small curry rice with 200g of rice for 770 yen from the vending machine at the entrance. The restaurant was empty, so the curry was reheated before being served, resulting in a short wait of about 5 minutes. The dish arrived with a side of carrot salad, and I mixed it lightly before digging in. The curry had a fruity sweetness followed by the umami of beef, and then the spiciness kicked in. The Osaka-style sweet and spicy curry had a unique flavor profile that I couldn't get enough of, with each bite alternating between sweet and spicy. Mixing in the egg yolk added richness and mellowed out the flavors. I finished the small portion quickly and enjoyed every bite. This kind of snack could easily become addictive, which is dangerous for me.

I had a meeting in Akasaka and was wandering around, thinking about grabbing lunch before heading there. I came across this restaurant and found it to be convenient and reasonably priced. It was nice that they included a raw egg as a base. Next time, I might try adding pork cutlet as a topping.

I ordered the small size with fried chicken topping, but I still felt like I could eat more so maybe the medium would have been better. I was surprised by the sweet curry. I sprinkled the spicy spices on the table and ate it. In Tokyo, it's not a common practice to eat it with a raw egg on top, but maybe it's normal in Osaka. Maybe the pork cutlet would have been better. It's a small shop with just a counter, but it was a good restaurant.

I purchase a meal ticket at the ticket vending machine at the entrance. Various electronic money can be used. The interior of the shop has only a counter. The characteristic of Osaka curry is that it starts off sweet and then you feel the spices later. It's a truly nostalgic taste. The owner of this place, who is also the character of the shop, is an actor. I am grateful to be able to easily enjoy this taste in Tokyo. By the way, today there was a small piece of meat in it. I am satisfied again today.

I had some business in Akasaka and was drawn to this shop by its appearance. The interior had only a counter and was so small that only one person could lie down and pass through. This unique atmosphere added to the charm. There was only one type of curry on the menu, with different sizes to choose from. First, carrot pickles were served, followed by the curry (with a raw egg on top). It was an original sweet and spicy curry with addictively spicy flavors. I definitely want to visit again.
