I had a good meal yesterday, so I decided to have a simple breakfast. I came to Tokyo and went to Sukiya, a place I really like. I ordered the set meal with beef bowl, miso soup, and egg for only 500 yen, which was great. I asked for the egg to be half-cooked, which cost an additional 20 yen. The beef bowl was served on a tray, and I had to go get water myself since it was self-service. I realized there were no chopsticks, so I had to go get them. There were also no wet towels, so I had to go get those too. Finally, I could start eating. The acrylic dividers between tables were very close, which made me wonder if it's normal to eat this close to strangers. Maybe it's better to sit at a different table with an acrylic divider. Anyway, Sukiya is quick to finish eating at, so it's fine. I cracked the half-cooked egg into the beef bowl, had some miso soup first, and then enjoyed the beef bowl. The miso soup was filled with ingredients like carrots, pork, white leeks, seaweed, taro, and konjac. There was a lot of finely chopped kombu in it, which was unusual but tasty. The portion of rice in the beef bowl was quite large for a breakfast menu, almost like a lunch portion. It's good, but it's a lot. My colleague was waiting for a Mos Burger at the restaurant across from us for about 10 minutes. Mos Burger takes time, but it's delicious. Sukiya serves food quickly and it's delicious too.
