A popular ginger pork set meal specialty shop from Jimbocho Kanda will open in Akasaka Mitsuke on November 7th. The main shop in Jimbocho has been selected as one of the top 100 set meal shops! The location is a 3-minute walk from Akasaka Mitsuke Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi and Ginza lines. The opening hours are from 10:00 to 22:00 (may close early if sold out), and there are no regular holidays. I visited alone around 12:30 and there was a small line, but the wait was only about 5 minutes. The customers were coming in one after another. There is a ticket machine at the entrance where you can place your order. The menu includes the most popular dish, the BaKa ginger pork set meal for 1,000 yen, as well as other options like the premium loin ginger pork set meal for 1,200 yen, the garlic punch ginger pork set meal with Otsukimi eggs for 1,200 yen, and the Stamina W punch ginger pork set meal with domestic pork back fat and garlic from Aomori for 1,100 yen. All set meals are recommended and come in different sizes and prices. As a service for the opening week, you can get the BaKa ginger pork set meal with Otsukimi eggs and vinegar ginger tartar sauce for 950 yen. There are also options for toppings like grilled meat buns for 300 yen. I ordered the BaKa ginger pork set meal with Otsukimi eggs and vinegar ginger tartar sauce. The seating consists of about 7-8 counter seats, 3 tables for 4 people, and 2-3 tables for 2 people. I was seated at the counter. On the counter, there are various condiments like ginger and shiso dressing, ginger soy sauce, mayonnaise, shichimi pepper, and dried radish-like ginger. I waited for about 10 minutes before my meal arrived. The BaKa ginger pork set meal with Otsukimi eggs and vinegar ginger tartar sauce looked appetizing with well-cooked ginger pork that was slightly thicker than usual. The portion size was decent. The taste was delicious, with the ginger pork being slightly firm and not too fatty, made with three-element pork from Kochi prefecture and surrounded by ginger. The meal was served with rice. I also had the tartar sauce, cabbage, and grated ginger. I enjoyed it with the ginger and shiso dressing. Finally, I made a Tamago Kake Gohan (egg over rice) with the Otsukimi eggs and ginger soy sauce. It was a satisfying meal. I look forward to trying the premium loin set meal next time if I get the chance.
