It was a takeout, but they warmed it up for me. The prosciutto and Camembert (tax included 700 yen) had a crispy and chewy bread. When reheated, the Camembert cheese became gooey. The pepper seasoning was strong! The price is a bit high for the size though.

I often walk by this place, and the other day I saw someone inside holding a dog while enjoying a cup of coffee, so I decided to drop in. The bench outside the shop connects to the inside, creating a cozy atmosphere like a veranda. I ordered a drip coffee and was told they had both light and dark roast options, so I chose the light roast Ethiopian. The coffee came in a nice cup and tasted delicious. Despite the small space, it felt clean and comfortable. The quiet demeanor of the staff added to the experience. I love trying coffee in different places, and stumbling upon a dog-friendly spot during my walk was lucky. Thank you for the meal.

A café located in a back alley slightly away from Kitasando, Meiji Jingu-mae, Omotesando, and Gaienmae. The narrow interior is crowded with locals lining up for takeout. The café offers a few counter seats and small table seats for dining in. I chose a counter seat this time. Among the various sandwiches made with bread from East Shinjuku La Baguette displayed in the showcase, I chose the anchovy and egg sandwich. It was lightly toasted before serving, which made it warm and slightly soft, a delightful touch. I also discovered that the saltiness of anchovies surprisingly pairs well with eggs. The coffee was delicious too, and I had a relaxing and cozy time in the space.

In the back streets of the shrine, HoRaiYa's Banh Mi & Coffee is so good. This was my first Banh Mi, and it was delicious. They use homemade chicken ham with pickled daikon radish and carrots! It's really good. I'll definitely come back to try their other bread too. #horaiya #Jingu-mae #BanhMi

In September 2021, "HORAIYA" opened in Jingumae, a cafe run by a husband and wife. The cafe features a unique collaboration between Kanefumi Kohno, who originally worked at a cafe, and designer Tomomi. Their signature menu item is a sandwich that is heated on the surface using a hot sandwich machine and served on the spot. The bread used is from "La Baguette" in Shinjuku, and they also offer an original blend of specialty coffee beans from "Three Sisters Coffee" in Oita. The coffee has received rave reviews. The owner, Kanefumi, is actually the son of the owner of "Horaiya," a dried goods store in Oita that has been in business for 90 years. The cafe also sells dried shiitake mushrooms and seaweed. The items ordered were a drip coffee using beans from El Trapiche Farm in Colombia, which had a fruity raisin flavor with almond and caramel notes, and an Anchovy & Egg salad sandwich that was freshly baked upon ordering. The sandwich had a crispy crust and a light, fluffy texture, with a delicious filling of anchovies, egg salad, tomato, arugula, lettuce, dill, and mayonnaise. The combination of the crispy baguette and flavorful filling was excellent.

After finishing work at Sotobori-dori, I walked to Meiji-jingu Mae and found a shop along the way. Since I was in a hurry, I got a takeout. I ordered one with prosciutto and Camembert. They bake the bread after you order, so it was crispy and delicious. It was satisfying and easy to eat. Thank you for the meal.

In Harajuku, I had some time and wanted to have lunch, so I found a cafe called HORAIYA. It's a coffee and sandwich cafe with counter seats and benches for dining in. I chose to sit on a bench this time. The cafe is located in a back alley, so it seemed like there were many regular customers. I ordered the Keema Curry sandwich, which was heated up before serving, so it was nice and hot. The bread was a baguette from La Baguette in Shinjuku, with a crispy and fragrant texture. Inside the bread, there was Keema curry and boiled egg, which had a bit of spiciness and rich flavor. It was delicious. For my drink, I ordered a small drip coffee. They use beans from 3 CEDARS COFFEE, a specialty coffee shop in Oita. The coffee was served in a light brown cup and had a good balance of richness and bitterness. It paired well with the sandwich and was delicious.

The weather forecast was for clear skies the day before, but it was cloudy on the day, with clear skies expected the next day. So, I decided on my weekend routine - road cycling today and trail running tomorrow. Today's road cycling was a 15km loop from my home to the Imperial Palace and back, finishing at a comfortable pace of 4 minutes per kilometer. I treated myself to a Soft Baguette Sandwich from HORAIYA on the way back, choosing anchovy and egg fillings. I took it to-go and enjoyed it with a beer at home since BEER BRAIN across the street was not open yet. It was a fulfilling Saturday morning. This routine might become a regular weekend activity.

Horaiya is very popular. Although their an-butter is popular, I was in the mood for something more substantial, so I chose the "Ratatouille with hijiki and thick fried tofu" (there were only two options left). The bread itself had a good chewy texture and depth of flavor. The simple flavors of hijiki and thick fried tofu combined very well and were delicious. #horaiya #bread #bakery #cafe #jingumae #Tokyo lunch #tokyo gourmet #Tokyo foodie #instagrammable food #bread lover #record of bread activities #bread lover #want to connect with bread lovers #want to connect with people who love delicious food #likeme #followme

It's Thursday morning. The previous evening, I visited a stylish bakery near Meiji-jingu. Inside, I spotted a couple of small baguettes left in the showcase. One was filled with sweet red bean paste and the other with ham and vegetables, I think. I chose the red bean paste one as I planned to have it the next morning. The following day, I lightly warmed it in the oven, topped it with Calpis butter, and enjoyed it with a cup of coffee. It was delicious. The combination was like Terry Funk and Dory Funk, or for those who like villains, Butcher & Seek. For fans of red trunks, Baba & Tsuruta would be okay too. As I thought about such silly things, I pushed it all down with my coffee and decided to go see the cherry blossoms at Shinjuku Gyoen. And that's it, thanks for the meal.

At the coffee stand with a variety of fillings in their sandwiches, you can also enjoy their baked goods. The interior is small, so takeout is the main option. The staff is friendly and willing to chat. Their scones are light and perfect for a snack, made without butter or eggs.

A bright shop owner and cute staff members provide a soothing atmosphere at this takeout coffee stand. They offer generously filled sandwiches and subtly vegan sweets, appealing to both men and women. The scones, being vegan, have a moist texture from the oil and a delightful sweet-tartness from the cranberries, making them perfectly delicious.

◆Turning a simple sandwich into an excellent dish, the bread used is from Toyo-sei Pan, famous for its La Baguette factory store. Indeed, ordering both baguette and shokupan (Japanese bread) from there is a great choice. The slightly petite baguette with a crispy texture offers a light and enjoyable taste. When paired with the graceful sweetness of red bean paste and the fragrant mix of espresso, it's undeniably delicious. In fact, the deli-style sandwiches also look very appetizing, and I definitely want to try them next time. ◆Menu for this visit: Coffee Anko (red bean paste) and Americano S (small) for 800 yen per person. ◆How to enjoy this place: <Profile> A coffee and sandwich shop with a cool name inspired by the owner's family's dry goods store in Oita. Opened in September 2021. <Order> The Coffee Anko was 450 yen, and the Americano S was 450 yen. ◆Source of information: Review by tetsuya_ao2. Thank you for the meal!

Plain scones are delicious! They are crispy and have a powdery texture with a hint of spices! It feels like eating carrot cake in scone form. The moment you take a bite, the flavors of cinnamon and nuts spread in your mouth. The quality is so good that you wouldn't think it's vegan.

This is my third visit to a recently opened stylish coffee shop. It is quite small, with only counter seats and a bench facing the street. They offer a choice between light roast and medium-dark roast drip coffee. I prefer dark roast, but the medium-dark roast is refreshing whether hot or iced. The bread with coffee bean paste sandwiched between slices is delicious with a gentle sweetness and great texture. It would probably be even better toasted. They source their canelés from another shop, but the outer crust is crispy and fragrant, while the inside is moist and well-made. The overall quality is high. Total cost of order (tax included): - Coffee bean paste sandwich: 450 yen - Canelé from Kashiichi: 400 yen Payment via iD is accepted.

A newly opened sandwich and coffee shop with a nostalgic retro atmosphere. The cozy counter is inviting, where I enjoyed a spinach and cheese sandwich with a hot coffee. The medium roast blend coffee has a nice acidity that complements the sandwich well. The spinach sandwich, served in a perfectly sized baguette, is crispy and delicious. It is heated thoroughly, so the melted cheese is delightful. There is also a veranda, which is pleasant during this season.
