It's a well-crafted and beautiful bowl of ramen. The noodles have a good texture and chewiness, but for me (a slightly tipsy old man), the flavor was too strong and intense. The aroma of dried fish was also overpowering. It didn't quite match my taste preferences. It's subjective, though. Overall, it performed above average and I could see why people would like it, but I ended up leaving half of it uneaten. It didn't fully satisfy me, and I found myself wanting to visit another ramen shop afterwards. It was only 4 pm on a Sunday in Shinjuku, yet this popular place had only 4 customers. I wonder if there's a reason for that. Thank you for the meal.

Ramen with fish and pork bone broth. I visited this place because my colleague recommended it. Both my colleague and I were tired from coming from afar, so we chose this restaurant near the station. The ramen was delicious, but it's a matter of personal preference. My favorite is soy sauce ramen, while my colleague prefers miso ramen. We spent a total of 2,320 yen for two people. The ramen set was 1,300 yen and the seasoned egg ramen was 1,020 yen.

The rich mixed noodles with a raw egg for flavor change! Adding lemon kosho for a refreshing kick, made it enjoyable and delicious until the end. The duck meat was very refreshing and tasty. The "full toppings" option seemed quite generous!

I visited Ore no Sora for lunch. Although I came wanting to eat tsukemen, I was captivated by the alluring maze-men and decided to order it! Ever since I tried maze-soba at Omiya's Ransen, I have developed a liking for mixed noodle dishes. The thick noodles that are well coated in sauce provide a satisfying chewy texture and delicious taste. The tender chashu pork and bamboo shoots add an extra layer of flavor and texture. A small bottle of Lemosco is provided silently. I understood it to be lemon-flavored Tabasco, but it wasn't very spicy and had a delicate taste. I ate 1/3 of the dish as is, then added Lemosco to another 1/3, and mixed in a raw egg for the remaining 1/3. I found that the raw egg was actually quite good. The combination of soft-boiled and raw eggs was quite innovative, don't you think? The lack of paper aprons and cash-only payment may be a bit old-fashioned, but it doesn't affect the taste, so it's fine. Thank you for the meal.

I visited during the Obon holiday lunch time and it was very empty. I added a seasoned egg to my regular ramen. The bonito flavor was strong but not overpowering, and the thin noodles were smooth and delicious. Next time, I want to try the extra large portion to experience a more hearty and satisfying meal.

I visited the restaurant around 5:30 PM and there was only one customer, so I could enter right away. I ordered the "ae-men." It looked like an oil ramen with a raw egg on top, but it had a seafood flavor and was well seasoned. It was not heavy or greasy, and had a refreshing taste. It was delicious.

On my way back to the office, feeling hungry, I searched to see if there were any oil soba noodle shops in Shinjuku. I found a famous shop that seemed to offer a different kind of noodle dish called "Aemen." Although it's not the same as oil soba, I decided to give it a try. The shop wasn't too crowded when I arrived, with about 5 customers already there. The counter seating was nice and well-organized. Unlike oil soba, there was no standard set of chili oil and vinegar, but the Aemen came with a condiment called "Remosco" which adds a spicy and sour flavor (although I didn't really like it). They also provided a raw egg in a small dish without any instructions on when to use it, so I ended up mixing it in towards the end, not sure if that was the right way. The thick noodles were chewy, the char siu was tender, and I liked the sauce. However, I didn't really enjoy the crunchy onions, nori garnish, and fish powder toppings, which seemed to be the usual pattern. But since this was Aemen, it was different. It didn't necessarily need to be spicy with chili oil. Overall, it was delicious, although it felt a bit too oily or soupy. One downside was that they didn't provide paper aprons (which I don't use anyway), and there was no refill of cold water nearby. The spacious interior made it awkward to get up for a water refill.

I suddenly decided to go to Shinjuku. It was a weekday night and the place was not crowded. I ordered tsukemen with an additional seasoned egg. It may look like it has no toppings, but there are bamboo shoots and chashu in the broth. Both the noodles and the soup had a stable taste and were delicious.

I visited the restaurant around 1 pm on a regular day. Luckily, I didn't have to wait and got seated right away! I was torn between cold ramen and tsukemen, but ended up choosing the reliable tsukemen in a large portion. The noodles were smooth and the soup had shredded chashu in it, providing a satisfying meal.

Ore no Sora Shinjuku Store @ Shinjuku Zensora Amen [¥1300]

This time, I visited Ore no Sora Shinjuku store, which has been popular since its establishment in Takadanobaba in 2001 with its double soup of seafood and pork bone broth. I have passed by the front of the store many times, but this was my first visit. Located on the left side just before the pedestrian bridge when heading towards Nishishinjuku from the main gate of Shinjuku. It's around the back of Mankai. I was torn between tsukemen and ramen, but this time I chose ramen! For tsukemen, there is a regular size, large size, and they are the same price.
When you enter the store, there is a ticket machine on the left. There are counter seats and table seats in the back. The BGM was hip-hop. All the staff were foreigners. I was not offered water until the end. By the way, it is not self-service. I ordered Zensora, but wait, is this Zensora?? A bit disappointing bowl maybe? In various ways, I probably won't be coming back.
* This is just my personal impression.

Visited late on a Sunday afternoon, with the restaurant about 70% full. Purchased my Tsukemen with extra noodles for 1200 yen at the ticket machine by the entrance. The noodles were of medium thickness and had decent firmness, but lacked a strong flavor, possibly due to the water quality in the area. The dipping sauce, however, had a good bonito flavor and was delicious. The dish came with a generous amount of toppings, including bamboo shoots, shredded pork in the broth, and additional pork slices on top of the noodles. The seaweed was also of good quality, making the seaweed-wrapped noodles tasty as well. The portion size was satisfying, especially with the extra noodles. The only downside was that the condiments for flavor adjustment were lacking, and it was unclear if they offered soup refills. Overall, considering the slightly high price, I felt that the quality of the dish justified it. Thank you for the meal.

On a holiday night, I went alone to the restaurant at an early hour. The restaurant was quite spacious with a good number of seats. The interior was a bit dark and had a chic atmosphere, making it welcoming for young people and foreigners. I ordered the tsukemen (large serving). The flavor itself was decent without any major standout features, but it was safe and good. The noodles were smooth and slippery, easy to slurp even with the large serving. The meat in the dipping sauce was tender and delicious. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my experience!

I had the Tsukemen in this section for ¥880 (with free extra noodles) on a Sunday afternoon around 1 pm. I had some business to attend to in Shinjuku, so I came to this restaurant. I'm not a fan of the taste and texture of raw onions, so I asked them to leave it out. The soup had thin menma and shredded chashu in it. It's a classic Tsukemen with a rich seafood pork bone broth. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this place because I wanted to eat rich and hearty ramen since the day before. The soup was rich and the ingredients were to my liking, but personally, I found the soup a bit too sweet and, perhaps due to my condition that day, I felt that the portion was slightly larger compared to other places, which might be a concern for women. However, I find it attractive that there is a clean and relatively empty place with rich ramen so close to Shinjuku Nishiguchi Station. I saw the photo of tsukemen and visited, so next time I want to try the tsukemen.

My favorite ramen shop. The soup has a rich flavor with a hint of bonito or seafood, not too heavy but satisfying. The thin noodles go well with the soup. It used to come with several slices of duck chashu, but now it's just regular chashu which is a bit disappointing. It's still a highly rated ramen overall.

After finishing a work meeting without having had lunch, I stopped by this shop on the way. I've been here twice before, and even though I don't usually eat tsukemen, the tsukemen here is delicious! This time, I ordered the "My Original Tsukemen" for 1200 yen from the ticket machine. It's great that you can get a free large portion. The shop has around 20 seats, including tables and counter seats. I received my order in about 7-8 minutes. I quickly ate the tsukemen because the sauce cools down quickly and doesn't taste as good. I believe that a shop with thick menma is a good shop. And it comes with seasoned egg, chashu, and seaweed. The thick noodles have a firm texture. I was very hungry, so I grabbed a big mouthful and slurped it up. The firm texture of the noodles and the way the broth clings to them make it delicious. I couldn't stop eating with my chopsticks. The seasoned egg was perfectly cooked with a beautifully runny yolk. The chashu was cooked just right too. As I write this review, I already feel like eating it again. I highly recommend it for tsukemen lovers!

#Ore no Sora Shinjuku Branch #Ore no Honsetsu Aemen #Ramen Activity of the Year 207th Bowl I visited Ore no Sora Shinjuku Branch for the first time in a year since last July, and ordered Ore no Honsetsu Aemen for 1200 yen. I mixed the Aemen without doing anything else, then added a raw egg and mixed it before adding lemon kosho for a refreshing taste. It was incredibly delicious.

Hello, this is Shomuneko. I visited the ramen shop "Ore no Sora" in Shinjuku. It's a shop known for its fish and pork bone broth. When I was a student, I used to frequent the Ikebukuro branch, so I decided to visit the Shinjuku branch for the first time in a while. Here are the details:
- Time: Weekday lunch, no waiting
- Seating: Counter and 3 tables
- Ordering: Ticket machine
- Menu: Ramen, tsukemen, abura soba, various toppings, and alcohol
- Price range (basic menu): Up to ¥1000
- Table condiments: Black pepper, fried garlic chips
I ordered the "Ore no Honsetsu Tsukemen" for ¥1200. The broth was a flavorful fish and pork bone soup, with a good amount of umami. It has a low viscosity and is on the drier side. The chopped onions added a nice touch to the flavor. The black pepper on the table paired well with the soup. The soup was served lukewarm, which was fine on a hot day, but might not be the best for those craving hot tsukemen.
The noodles were thick and straight-cut, with a good chewiness. They didn't absorb the soup too much, giving a slightly plain impression. The portion size for tsukemen and maze-men can be upsized for free.
The toppings included small seaweed, finely chopped menma, and shredded pork in the soup. The "Ore no" special topping added thick menma, flavored egg, and chicken thigh chashu. The shredded pork in the soup was a favorite of mine, with a consistent deliciousness. I personally prefer more of this than the chicken chashu. Overall, the meal was unexpectedly delicious, living up to its reputation as a popular spot. I prefer the maze-men here, so I hope to try that next time. Thank you for the meal. This was my 31st bowl in 2023.

This section has Ae-men for 880 yen plus draft beer for 440 yen. I had some business in Shinjuku in the morning, so I tried to have a quick drink at Gifu-ya, but it was full. I came to Ore no Kū for the first time in a while. The Ae-men comes in a large portion for the same price, which is nice. It comes with a raw egg. The noodles are medium thick, and the soup is quite generous and delicious. Mixing in the egg makes it creamy. It would be nice if the seaweed was a little bigger. Thank you for the meal.
