On the way to Hamarikyu Gardens, I randomly entered a restaurant without any prior research on where to have lunch. The place was full of foreign tourists, making it difficult to walk around. The restaurant was small with about 10 seats at the counter. I ordered the "medium-fatty tuna, salmon roe, and sea urchin rice bowl." The sea urchin portion was small, but it was delicious. The side dish of pickled vegetables was very salty, so I couldn't finish it. There are many seafood bowl restaurants around, so I might take this opportunity to explore them.

I was looking for sashimi set meal instead of seafood bowl at Tsukiji. It's a small and affordable restaurant with only counter seats. They offer a variety of dishes like bowls, set meals, and simmered fish. Today, I ordered the sashimi set meal. It was simply delicious. They also have a good selection of drinks, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a drink.

If a set meal costs 800 yen, that's a great deal. They carefully grill the fatty mackerel until it's just right. Grate some daikon radish, sprinkle soy sauce on it, and squeeze lemon over the mackerel. Place the salted mackerel on top of the warm rice and savor the taste of salted lemon and mackerel. It's irresistible for mackerel lovers. Refresh your palate with daikon radish and pickled daikon while sipping miso soup, the morning fuel. After finishing the delicious meal, head to the neighboring Kome Moto Coffee for a tasty coffee before work. For breakfast in Tsukiji, it has to be fish.

I had a slightly late breakfast in Tsukiji, Chuo Ward. I visited "Suzuki Suisan," which has a somewhat open atmosphere along Harumi Street. I arrived just before 10 o'clock. The counter inside was already full, but a female staff member cooking fish outside the store told me there was a seat available and guided me inside. I ordered the "Nakaochi Ikura Don" (1500 yen). The female staff member outside was friendly, but the one inside was not. The dish was served quickly, with plenty of nakaochi and ikura, albeit a bit less rice. The portion was not very filling, but the price was reasonable and the place is easy to drop by. The miso soup had two small clams and there was also a small side of pickles. Overall, the meal lacked volume. The atmosphere was not conducive to lingering, so it was more suited for a quick meal. (Visit rating: 3.41)

[Good Points] It's easy to drop by and the prices are reasonable and fair. I highly recommend this place that I visit multiple times. The Chutoro Don (1000 yen) and Chutoro Uni Don (1500 yen) are great value for money. [Bad Points] The Seafood Don (2000 yen) was just okay. It depends on personal preference, but I definitely think the Chutoro Don is better. Also, I think they only accept cash payment, so make sure to bring some with you.

I visited "Suzuki Suisan" located a 5-minute walk from Tsukiji Station, along Harumi Street. I arrived around 9:30 am on a weekday and there was no wait. I was able to enter smoothly. I ordered the Chutoro Uni Don for 1,500 yen. The miso soup with clams and pickles were served shortly after. Both the chutoro and uni were quite fresh and delicious. It was not cheap quality, but rather tasty without any unpleasant smell. I enjoyed it until the end.

The restaurant opens at 9:00 am and is located very close to Tsukiji Station, right near the outer market. It is also located along a main street, making it easy to find for tourists. There are many foreign tourists visiting. I ordered the medium fatty tuna bowl for 1500 yen. Given the location in Tsukiji, the prices are on the higher side, including at the outer market. The freshness seemed good. It had a nice balance, and overall, I felt it was a good choice.

On this cold and rainy day, there were fewer tourists around, so I decided to go to this restaurant outside Tsukiji Market. The boiled fish I wanted was already sold out, so I opted for the grilled "Akadai" fish for ¥1,500. Although the mackerel was only ¥800, the oily Akadai fish was definitely worth it.

I went to Suzuki Suisan, a shop that is always crowded, while walking in Tsukiji. I arrived around 10 o'clock, so I was able to enter immediately. The most popular dish at this shop is the fresh sea urchin set meal or seafood bowl, but I had decided on simmered fish for today, so I ordered the Kanpachi collar simmered fish set meal for 1500 yen. The simmered fish displayed on the counter is warmed in the microwave and served as a set meal. When I put my chopsticks into the Kanpachi, the flesh was soft and easily came apart. The flavor was well-infused, without any fishy smell, and tasted delicious. The miso soup with clams was piping hot and comforting, but the pickles were quite salty, making the overall meal taste salty. It was priced at 1500 yen, so I was happy that it came with an extra dish. Next time, I would like to try the grilled fish. Thank you for the meal.

It's been quite a while since I last went. It's an early lunch. Tsukiji is crowded with foreign tourists, but there don't seem to be many restaurants. The nakaochi donburi is more like tataki than nakaochi. If you mix in chopped green onions, it becomes negitoro, for sure. In terms of taste and quantity, it's satisfying for the price. The miso soup with clams is also good. I might try the simmered fish next time. I miss the days when the sea urchin set meal was only 1000 yen.

I went to Suzuki Suisan in Tsukiji on January 30th. I ordered the sea bream head stew set meal for 1000 yen. The restaurant has an open-air atmosphere with counter seats. The sea bream head stew was a bit rough with the scale processing, but the seasoning was just right, not too sweet. The grilled mackerel on display looked delicious. Thank you for the meal!

<Visit Date> Around 12:30 on a holiday. The restaurant was full when I arrived.
<Order> Tuna, sea urchin, and salmon roe bowl (2,300 yen) with extra serving. It arrived about 5 minutes after ordering. The bowl was filled with tuna as the main ingredient, with sea urchin and salmon roe sprinkled on top. There were quite a few gaps in the bowl, with plenty of space for seaweed and pickled ginger. The taste was good, with the fatty tuna melting in the mouth and the sea urchin being fresh and delicious.
<Service> It seemed like they were a bit confused with the order and serving tea. The fact that the restaurant has an open space makes it nice to have warm tea served.
<Overall Impression> Considering the cost-performance ratio, it might be a bit pricey. There are many other delicious restaurants in Tsukiji, so I would like to try different places. Thank you for the meal.

I visited "Suzuki Suisan," a seafood restaurant located about a 3-4 minute walk from Tsukiji Station, around 11 am on a certain day in August 2022. The restaurant is not very spacious and there were no other customers inside when I arrived. I sat at the counter alone and ordered the "Sashimi Set Meal" for ¥1,500. After waiting for about 7-8 minutes, the dish was served. It consisted of a platter of 7 types of sashimi, a small side dish, rice, miso soup, and pickles. Compared to other restaurants in the Tsukiji Market area that charge tourist prices, I think this restaurant is relatively more affordable. The quality of the sashimi was outstanding. The tuna had a perfect amount of fat and a sweet taste. The white fish slices were fresh and without any fishy taste. I enjoyed the Kohada, scallop, squid, and octopus while savoring the rice. The small side dish of soy-simmered fish was a great accompaniment to the rice. I quietly enjoyed the well-balanced sashimi set meal. After finishing the meal, I felt a satisfying level of fullness. Perhaps due to its convenient location, more customers started to arrive as I was eating. There seemed to be more local customers than tourists. I would recommend avoiding the lunchtime peak hours if you want a more relaxed dining experience. While the environment may not be the most tranquil, it is a good place to enjoy a high-quality seafood set meal. They had a wide variety of grilled fish options, so I would like to try that next time.

Tsukiji lunch. Yesterday I had a 400g pork sauté at Hamateki, so today I want to eat seafood. I found this restaurant that I had been eyeing on Harumi Street. It has an open feel to it and is located right along the street where I often pass by. I finally decided on my order after checking the menu outside.
- Medium Fatty Tuna and Sea Urchin Bowl 1,500 yen
Soon, the bowl was served. I couldn't help but smile at the pink color of the medium fatty tuna. Since it's a bowl, I casually poured some wasabi soy sauce and dug in. It's so sweet. Now, it's been a while since I had sea urchin. I slurped up the melting piece that seemed like it would overflow. It's so sweet and delicious. Isn't this just perfect? My favorite combo. There's also a lot of medium fatty tuna, but for me, who used to eat unlimited sea urchin bowls for free during my part-time job at a revolving sushi restaurant in my student days, sea urchin still holds higher value. Especially for 1,500 yen. It was good, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

When work is busy and you can't take a leisurely lunch, Suzuki Shokuhin is a lifesaver! Let's have some simmered fish this time! The counter is lined with plates of wrapped simmered fish, featuring beautifully striped mackerel! Let's heat it up in the microwave. The mackerel, cooked just right, is colored nicely by the simmering broth and has a great taste! The ginger flavor and soy sauce richness blend well with the fat, making it perfect with rice! And the mackerel has such beautiful skin! You can tell it was prepared with care. Even when heated in the microwave, the quality is like fast food from Tsukiji Market! It makes you want to have a drink in the afternoon! But no, I can't take my time today. The seafood bowl I had before was great, but the simmered fish is also simple yet satisfying! And it's reasonably priced at 1,000 yen with change back, making it a good deal in this area! When you're short on time, Suzuki Shokuhin is the place to go! You have to go early because they tend to sell out quickly! If you have your eye on something, make sure to strike early!

Located just a stone's throw away from the intersection of Tsukiji 4-chome, "Suzuki Suisan" is a seafood restaurant known for its delicious seafood bowls and fish set meals. The open storefront along Harumi Street allows you to peek inside at the counter. The menu on the whiteboard outside shows a variety of options, including sashimi set meals, grilled fish set meals, and simmered fish dishes. The simmered fish tends to sell out early, so be sure to keep that in mind. The grilled fish is cooked outside the store after you order, so it may take a little longer. On this particular day, I was in the mood for a bowl, so I ordered the following:
- Medium Fatty Tuna and Sea Urchin Bowl - 1,500 yen (tax included)
The bowl arrived in about 2 minutes. It was filled with medium fatty tuna and topped with dark-colored sea urchin. It also came with chopped green onions, ginger, shiso leaves, miso soup, and pickles. The tuna was flavorful with a hint of sweetness, and the sea urchin had a mild, rich umami flavor with a strong taste of the sea. The vinegared rice was soft and sticky, blending perfectly with the tuna and accelerating the chopstick action. The thickly cut seaweed added a nice aroma to the dish. Overall, the medium fatty tuna and sea urchin bowl was a delicious choice.
With many seafood bowl restaurants in the area, "Suzuki Suisan" stands out with its larger grilled or simmered fish options. The restaurant closes early, so it's best to visit in the early morning. Experience the atmosphere of Tsukiji outside the market while enjoying a satisfying fish meal at "Suzuki Suisan."

At Suzuki Suisan, I had the grilled saury set meal. Located in the Tsukiji Outer Market. They are famous for their sea urchin, but I opted for the seasonal saury. It was grilled in front of the store and served in about 15 minutes. The saury didn't have a lot of fat, but the skin and flesh were crispy. I enjoyed it and finished everything except for the bones (lol).

In the past, there was a restaurant featured on a popular TV show that I wanted to visit. Unfortunately, they no longer offer a sea urchin rice bowl for $1,000. Instead, I ordered a tuna and sea urchin bowl for $1,200. The rice had a slightly strong vinegar taste from my perspective. The portion size was generous, and there was more tuna than sea urchin. However, both the tuna and sea urchin were delicious! Thank you for the meal.

This is an open-style restaurant along Harumi Street with no doors. A few years ago, they were famous for their Uni set meal which came with a whole box of Uni for only 1000 yen. However, it seems like they have either raised the price or no longer offer it. I visited this restaurant 14 years ago when my guide teacher took me to Tsukiji during a training session. All the menu items are around 1000 yen, making it a budget-friendly option with great taste. The Tuna and Uni rice bowl I had this time featured "Negitoro" made with the leftover parts of the tuna, not just the fatty part. The name comes from the process of scraping off the leftover parts from the bones. The rice had a strong vinegar scent, but overall, it was delicious with the real tuna and sweet Uni.

I visited around 1:30 PM on a Saturday. The area outside the market was crowded with tourists, so I thought I would try a newer restaurant that might be less busy. However, there were still long lines in front of the newer establishments. It seems like Tsukiji has transformed from a gourmet town to a place popular with out-of-towners. The old establishment I was aiming for was not busy. I was told this was the place to go for delicious food outside the market. I ordered the tuna and sea urchin rice bowl. It arrived in 5 minutes and cost 1,200 yen. The amount of sea urchin was a bit small, but there were 6-7 large slices of tuna on top. It was delicious, but I felt like something was missing. I wanted a little more, so that's why I gave this review. The miso soup with clams was also tasty. The fact that there wasn't a line outside even at this time might be due to this. I hope this restaurant continues to do well.
