Ramen Takanome Kamata branch @ Kamata ● Hiyashi Chuka 1250 yen Located a 3-minute walk from JR Kamata Station South Exit, behind the main store of Yuzawaya, opened in April 2019. The main store is a popular Jiro-inspired shop founded in 2015 in Dokkyo University Mae (Saitama Prefecture, Kasuga City), and this is the second store. A sister store of the famous Jiro-style shop "Senrigan" in Komaba, Meguro-ku, founded in 2009, this "Takanome" also offers unique free toppings such as "Karaage" (deep-fried spicy chicken) and "Garimayo" (garlic mayonnaise) that are familiar at "Senrigan". On this day, I came here for the summer limited edition "Hiyashi Chuka" (Limited ① Button 1250 yen). It is a Jiro-style hearty cold noodles that is quite different from the general image of "Hiyashi Chuka", and originated from "Senrigan", but recently other Jiro-inspired shops have also been offering menus that pay homage to "Senrigan's" Hiyashi Chuka. The noodle portion is default at 300g (before boiling). At the timing of handing over the meal ticket, the staff will confirm, "Is 300g okay?" so if you want to reduce the amount to 250g or 200g, you can inform them at this time. Conversely, if you want a large portion (400g), you can purchase a 100 yen ticket at the vending machine. Free toppings include extra vegetables, garlic, oil, karaage, garimayo, and caramel, with the staff asking "For the customer of <counter number> with <order item>, what toppings would you like?" just before serving, so you can call out for the additional toppings you want. Those who want Garimayo or karaage in a "separate dish" are also seen occasionally. Ordered the "Hiyashi Chuka" with 300g of noodles, and toppings of extra vegetables, karaage, and garimayo. When you choose extra vegetables, it is served as a mountain-like elevation that is shaped by pressing it tightly with both hands so that it does not collapse. The vegetables mainly consist of shredded daikon radish with carrots and cucumbers, like a daikon salad. It is refreshing and crunchy, so even with extra vegetables, you can easily finish it. Watercress is placed on top, and cherry tomatoes are on the side as toppings. If you try to forcibly pull out the noodles hidden under the mountain of vegetables, a collapse of the mountain may occur, so it is better to eat a certain amount of vegetables first, lower the elevation, and then swap the noodles and vegetables using the "flip". The flat thick noodles are made from Nisshin Seifun's strong flour "Orchon," which is also used by "Ramen Jiro," giving it a firm and chewy texture. The noodles for "Hiyashi Chuka" are cooled with cold water, making them even firmer and chewier than warm noodles, increasing the chewiness. Rather than slurping the noodles, you chew them, so your jaw may get tired towards the end. The chicken thigh chashu is thick and satisfying to eat. The crispy texture of the karaage and the punchy garlic flavor of garimayo combine to create a junky taste that is addictive.

The chashu pork is fatty and heavy. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere, but overall the dishes are rich, so it's recommended to visit when you're hungry.

The limited menu of cold Taiwan Mazesoba with garlic, oil, spicy fried pork, garlic mayo, and numbing spice is normally served with 300g of noodles before cooking. This time, I opted for 250g without vegetables, but it was still delicious and I could have easily eaten 300g. The numbing spice topping wasn't too spicy, so those who like it hot may want to add extra to suit their taste. The dish was topped with appetizing meat miso, making it easy to eat and enjoyable. It was delicious!

I just came here recently, but I couldn't resist coming back again. Last time I tried their limited Taiwan maze soba, so today I ordered the regular small ramen. I opted for 200g instead of the default 300g. I also added double pork and a raw egg. For toppings, I chose vegetables, extra garlic, and extra oil. The visual presentation was amazing. Not only that, but the vegetables with oil, tender pork (3 slices), chewy noodles, and mixing it all with the raw egg made it a perfect dish.

I visited during lunchtime on a regular day. It was before 2 pm so I was able to get in without waiting. I tried the monthly limited edition cold Taiwan mixed noodles on this day. I chose toppings of abura (pork fat), garlic mayo, and numbing spice (sansho pepper). The noodles are usually 300 grams but I opted for 200 grams. The combination of minced meat and garlic mayo in the Taiwan mixed noodles created a very indulgent flavor that was delicious! The monthly limited editions here never disappoint. As always, even with 200 grams, I was quite full and couldn't eat dinner that night. Is this the weakening of a 30-year-old man's stomach...? For first-time visitors, I recommend starting with 200 grams, especially with the regular ramen or mixed noodles as they come with a lot of vegetables.

Ramen Takanome Kamata branch, Cold Taiwan Maze Soba for 1150 yen, extra pork for 150 yen, quail egg for 100 yen. This is my first time trying the cold Taiwan Maze Soba at Takanome since TKM. I arrived around 6:30 pm on a weekday and had to wait for a bit before being seated. It took only 15 minutes to get my bowl after sitting down. I added garlic, extra oil, spicy topping, numbing spice, and ginger mayo on a separate plate. I mixed it all well and enjoyed it. The spiciness and numbness were just right! It was delicious! It seems even better than the previous Taiwan Maze Soba. Takanome's noodles are always top-notch and go well with anything. The pork was incredibly tasty, so I couldn't resist getting an extra serving. I wonder if the extra rice at the end used to be free...? One advantage of it being paid is that if you buy two 50 yen tickets, you can double the amount of extra rice. You could also consider reducing the noodles and enjoying the Taiwan mixed rice to the fullest. With 250g of extra rice, I was completely full. Thank you for the meal!

It had been a while since my last visit. I arrived around 1 pm on Saturday and found that all the waiting seats inside were full. I decided to go for the limited menu item, Taiwan Mazesoba, without hesitation. I added extra onions because I thought it would taste good, and also upgraded to extra pork because I remembered how delicious it was. You can choose the noodle portion size, and I chose 250g instead of the default 300g, which turned out to still be quite a lot. For toppings, there was a special topping called "Shibire" for the Taiwan Mazesoba. I mixed everything together in the bowl, adding the onions separately before mixing in the pork. The noodles were slightly firm but had a good bite to them and were delicious. The pork exceeded my expectations in terms of tenderness and flavor. The spicy meat miso, garlic, sansho pepper, onions, and other ingredients all mixed together well and made it very enjoyable. However, even with 250g, I started to struggle towards the end. I would like to come back again before they stop serving the limited menu. Next time, I'll go for 200g of noodles.

I arrived around 1:00 pm and ordered the limited edition cold Taiwan maze soba with raw egg and shredded pork. I added garlic oil as a topping. I had to wait for about 20-30 minutes before the dish arrived. The presentation was appetizing, but the shredded pork, which I ordered for the first time, turned out to be quite voluminous. It paired well with the maze soba, so I thought it was a good choice, although it left me with no room to order extra rice. The taste was as expected, with a slightly spicy kick compared to regular Taiwan maze soba. The noodles, chilled in cold water, had a satisfying chewiness that I really enjoyed. The staff seemed a bit disorganized, with the server checking the noodle portion multiple times. The restaurant was quite busy, so I hope they can improve their efficiency. If they come up with another interesting limited edition dish, I might consider going back.

Let's go! It looks delicious, so I mix it right away. It's so tasty! It's easy to eat with the cold noodles! I can't stop eating, it's so good! It has a slight spiciness level, which is just right. Maybe because it's cold, it's amazing. In the second half, I added some spicy fried chicken for extra spiciness and crunchy texture. It's too delicious! The noodles disappeared quickly, and the extra rice is a must-have! Add the raw egg and enjoy it. The shop nearest to Kamata Station. Ramen small 930 yen, fish powder 50 yen. Topped with garlic and spicy fried chicken. Even the small size is 300g. The noodles are flat. There is plenty of spicy fried chicken and fish powder on top, and the soup is thick and delicious at the end. I'm glad I didn't need to add extra vegetables, I was quite full.

I visited at lunchtime on a holiday. It was around 12:30, but I was able to enter without waiting in line. I feel like there used to be long lines before, but maybe because of the scorching summer heat, there wasn't much of a line this time? On this day, I had the mini mazesoba (200g of noodles) with only garlic mayonnaise topping. I am a man in my early 30s, and for me, this amount is enough for lunch, I don't need to eat anything else for the rest of the day. However, people around me seem to easily finish 300g to 500g with extra vegetables, so it may vary from person to person. For first-timers or women, I recommend starting with the mini size and increasing it next time if you have room for more. I like the nice junky feeling that the garlic mayonnaise topping adds!

On Friday, August 18, 2023, I arrived at the restaurant at 5:30 PM and was able to enter smoothly as there were available seats inside. I ordered the mixed noodles (small size, 300g) for 950 yen with toppings of vegetables, pork fat, and a side of garlic mayonnaise. The bowl was served at 5:35 PM with a generous amount of vegetables and fish powder sprinkled on top. I noticed some white leeks along with bean sprouts. The mixed noodles had a slightly different mix of ingredients than usual, but it was really good. I mixed everything together and tasted the noodles. They were excellent, with a strong black pepper flavor. The noodles reminded me of the classic Jiro-style noodles, which I love. The garlic mayonnaise on the side was a nice touch, allowing me to adjust the amount as I mixed it with the noodles and vegetables. The thick slice of pork was delicious, and even though it was a soup-less dish, the remaining soup was so tasty that I couldn't stop eating it. It was delicious. I left the restaurant at 5:47 PM.

I visited a ramen shop and decided to try something high in calories for a change. I opted for 200g of noodles with extra oil and spicy fried toppings. There was a lot of spicy fried toppings, making it quite spicy. I probably should have asked for less. I finished by adding rice to the broth, but it was more spicy than I expected. Overall, it was a bit heavy for my taste.

The soup is a sharp soy sauce base and delicious on its own. The noodles are firm and chewy. The chashu pork slices are thick enough. The staff are also polite.

I started by eating the vegetables with oil, which was very delicious and enjoyable. Once the oil was gone, I tried combinations like garlic mayonnaise with spicy fried tofu and vegetables, or char siu with vegetables. The vegetables disappeared quickly as I ate. Finally, I mixed everything together and thoroughly enjoyed the noodles. It was delicious.

I visited a ramen shop in Kamata! This time, I visited "Takanome" Kamata branch. I ordered the "Hiyashi Chuka" with all toppings (extra vegetables, garlic, oil, spicy fried chicken, garlic mayo, caramel) and made sure to mention that it's not ramen. Takanome has a special monthly menu at each branch, and I've been really into Jiro-style Hiyashi Chuka lately, so I wanted to try Takanome's version. I checked Twitter and found out that both the main branch and the Kamata branch are serving Hiyashi Chuka, so I excitedly waited for it at the Kamata branch. The dish was served with a generous amount of radish and carrots on top, similar to the Hiyashi Chuka at the sister restaurant Senrigan. The sauce was sesame-based with a strong garlic mayo flavor, similar to Senrigan's Hiyashi Chuka. However, I felt like maybe I should have ordered less vegetables because the dish ended up a bit watery, and I wanted more of the garlic mayo flavor. The noodles, typical of Jiro-style, had a chewy texture that was very delicious. The chicken chashu had a refreshing lemon flavor and was thick and juicy. Overall, it was tasty, but I think I made a mistake with the vegetable and garlic mayo ratio. It was great to be able to enjoy it just before the end of July. Thank you so much! 7/23 Ramen Takanome Kamata Branch, Cold Chinese Noodles for 1250 yen. I ordered with extra pork and quail eggs. Finally tried their cold Chinese noodles. I arrived on a Sunday at 12:30 pm and there was a long line, but the turnover was fast and I got my food in 15 minutes! I ordered everything with spicy fried chicken and garlic mayo on the side. The noodles, as always at Takanome, were firm and had a great texture. The sauce was mild, just like I remember. The toppings were great, especially the daikon salad with pork fat dressing. The chicken char siu was a bit dry, but the default pork was amazing as always. Mixing the garlic mayo and spicy fried chicken separately was a great recommendation. After eating 300g, I felt full and realized my age. I think 250g would be enough next time. Thank you for the meal!
