Today, I came to Ameyoko♪ I was craving sashimi, so I was walking around and came across this shop! I ordered the "Chutoro Don" and my friend ordered the "Maguro Sanmai"! In about 5 minutes, our dishes arrived♪ The amount of fish was more than I expected for the price, and the size was very satisfying♪ There were many people eating takoyaki standing next to us, so we went to check it out and found out it was the same shop! That means we can sit down and eat♡ The rice in the maguro don was a bit less, so we also got 6 takoyaki balls! You can add bonito flakes, mayo, and sauce yourself♪ One of the balls was huge! My picky friend said the takoyaki was delicious, so I guess it passed the test(;゚;ж;゚;)ブッ The prices were really cheap♪

In Ameyoko, there is a standing-only takoyaki shop that I have been going to for over 20 years. They only accept cash and it's completely self-service, but the prices are still amazing. 4 pieces for 200 yen, 6 pieces for 300 yen, and 8 pieces for 400 yen. On this particular day, the takoyaki was slightly overcooked, but they usually serve delicious, piping hot takoyaki that is gooey and fluffy. Whenever I'm nearby, I always stop by this beloved shop, even if I'm already full. Recently, almost all of the customers are foreigners, but I still make sure to buy and enjoy their takoyaki. Please don't ever close down!

Outside is crispy, inside is fluffy, with large pieces of octopus in the big takoyaki balls. This old-fashioned takoyaki shop in Ameyoko always has a long line. You can customize your takoyaki with bonito flakes, seaweed, sauce, and mayonnaise to your liking. It's a bit unfortunate that there are no seats to sit and enjoy the hot takoyaki slowly, but the taste is so delicious that even after eating 8 pieces, you'll want more. By the way, 8 pieces cost 400 yen. A must-stop takoyaki shop when visiting Ameyoko.

Located just a short walk from Ueno Station, right at the entrance of Ameyoko Shopping Street, there is a stall where they sell takoyaki. The stall is always busy, so I couldn't resist stopping to buy 4 pieces of takoyaki. I also decided to get a bottle of beer to enjoy with it, bringing the total to 400 yen. You can add the sauce, seaweed, and mayonnaise yourself at the standing counter. The takoyaki had a rich dashi flavor and a generous amount of octopus inside. Although the texture was not perfectly smooth, it was still delicious. The stall was bustling with customers, including many from overseas.

It was always crowded and hard to get in, but I finally made it here. The rice bowls looked tempting, but I wanted to eat something light and move on to the next place, so I ordered 8 pieces of takoyaki. The toppings like sauce, bonito flakes, seaweed, and mayonnaise were self-service. The takoyaki was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, which I love!

The size is just right for food tasting. The staff only grills it, and you can put on as much sauce, seaweed, bonito flakes, and mayonnaise as you like. Everyone was putting on a lot. One piece is large. The taste depends on the sauce you put on, the main part is average.

There are so many types to choose from that I was a bit lost, but I ended up ordering sea urchin and salmon roe. The tuna looked a bit off, but the sea urchin and salmon roe were fresh. The salmon was also fatty and delicious. The portion of rice was a bit small, but it was properly seasoned, and for 1100 yen, I am satisfied. The takoyaki shop next door, which seems to be run by the same owner, offered 4 pieces for 200 yen with unlimited toppings, and they were tasty.

There was a shop right at the entrance of Ameyoko shopping street where a crowd had gathered. It's a perfect place to drink cheaply with friends while standing. In addition to takoyaki, they also serve seafood bowls and gelato, so you can have a meal there. If you order a seafood bowl, you can use a seat. <Menu>: Draft beer Kinmugi, 4 pieces of takoyaki

Located near Ameyoko Shopping Street, this popular takoyaki shop is just a 1-minute walk from Okachimachi Station on the JR Line. It is also a short walk from Ueno-Okachimachi Station on the Toei Oedo Line and Ueno-Hirokoji Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, making it easily accessible. The shop, called Minatoya Honten, offers not only takoyaki but also gelato and rice bowls for a quick meal. There is always a line at the takoyaki corner, but they continuously cook and serve fresh takoyaki. You can buy a 4-piece takoyaki for 200 yen, with the option to add 50 yen per additional piece up to 8 pieces. Once you receive your order, you can freely add sauce, bonito flakes, seaweed, and mayonnaise at the table. The takoyaki is fluffy on the outside and creamy on the inside, so be careful not to burn yourself as it is served piping hot!

Today's dinner was at Ueno, Ameyoko Minatoya Shokuhin. I ordered the following:
- Red shrimp and tuna bowl for 650 yen
- Additional order of sea urchin (single item) for 400 yen
The freshness of the tuna (probably skipjack) was fine, but it lacked both aroma and flavor. It tasted like the tuna you would find at a cheap conveyor belt sushi place from the past. The red shrimp was okay, with a decent texture and satisfying bite, although the flavor was also lacking. The sea urchin, being cheap, was understandable, but it had no aroma or flavor at all. For 400 yen, this sea urchin was disappointing.
Overall, the seafood bowl was of a low quality, but what bothered me the most was how bad the rice tasted. It was dry yet sticky, lacking any sweetness. I wonder what kind of rice they used to make it like this.
About half of the customers were foreign tourists, and I hope they don't consider this as representative of Japanese cuisine. The takoyaki was decent, with a crispy fried exterior instead of the fluffy texture from before. It seemed like they changed the recipe. The high-temperature, oil-soaked takoyaki melted the tray, leaving holes in the bottom. Be careful of burns and sauce leakage!
Also, there was no sense of cleanliness, so those who are particular about hygiene might want to avoid this place.
Thank you for the meal.

I went to Ameyoko to buy ingredients for dinner, but couldn't resist eating at Minatoya Shokuhin. I had both a seafood bowl and takoyaki, and they were both delicious! The quality was amazing and the prices were great. Tsukiji is good, but Ameyoko is also really good!

Tokyo's takoyaki is here! This shop near Niki no Kashi in Tokyo has always caught my attention. On the bustling Ameyoko street side, there are cheap seafood bowl street vendors. However, if you turn the corner, you'll find a famous takoyaki shop! There are always 7-8 people in line, but if you wait for just 5 minutes, you can buy them. 4 pieces for 200 yen, so even if you're alone, it's affordable. This is the true Tokyo takoyaki - crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and piping hot! You can help yourself to sauces like soy sauce and mayonnaise at the old-fashioned tables. This is the quintessential Tokyo takoyaki - enjoy!

I walked through Ameyoko, which I hadn't visited since before the pandemic. I decided to try the popular seafood bowl and takoyaki at this shop, which was always crowded with people. I lined up for takoyaki and chose to order 4 pieces since I was eating my way through the area. The price was 200 yen! I was surprised by how affordable it was. The takoyaki was delicious. This is a shop I definitely want to visit again when I go to Ameyoko.

On Saturday around 2:30 pm, my friend and I wandered around Ameyoko. It had been a while since I last visited Ameyoko, and I remembered that there were quite a few deep shops lining the street. After checking out what Ameyoko had to offer, we decided to enter Minatoya Shokuhin. The entrance had a large photo of a seafood bowl, which caught our attention as it seemed to be very popular. After waiting for about 10 minutes, we were seated at an outdoor table. We ordered verbally - I chose the Uni Seafood Bowl and also wanted to try something else, so I ordered a half-size bowl for 700 yen. They also had miso soup on the menu, which was advertised as having a strong tuna flavor, so I ordered that too for 100 yen, which was quite reasonable. Our food arrived in about 5 minutes. The bowl had a good amount of various toppings, and the rice was regular white rice, not vinegared. While all the toppings were delicious, my personal favorite was the Uni. It had a very smooth and mild taste with no fishy smell. The miso soup, for its price of 100 yen, was generously filled with ingredients and had a rich flavor. One thing to note is that there was a lot of wasabi on the seafood bowl, almost like a large serving, so be careful as it can be overpowering. Overall, I highly recommend this place. If you're looking for a delicious seafood bowl in Ameyoko, give this place a try.

I didn't know about this place before. I was aware of Futaki no Okashi's existence, but since I didn't have much reason to go, I didn't pay much attention to it... I tried it out before going to Jugemu. The takoyaki is baked round and plump, and each piece is large! The outside is crispy, while the inside is fluffy and quite packed. It lacks depth and richness in flavor, more like an old-fashioned wheat flour snack. Above all, it's cheap! The alcohol is also cheap. The volume and affordability make it a family-friendly takoyaki, but the sauce and toppings are self-service, so people with cleanliness concerns might not want to line up?

I had a salmon and tuna seafood bowl. The taste was so good that I couldn't believe how cheap it was! And on top of that, there was miso soup that was also cheap and delicious. The tuna broth was rich and warming, perfect for a cold winter day. I couldn't resist getting a second helping.

I had some errands in Ueno, so I stopped by. I had tried seafood bowls a few times before, but this was my first time trying takoyaki! Four pieces for 200 yen is a great deal that you won't find at chain restaurants. The size also felt quite large. It might be tough for those with cleanliness concerns, but it was really delicious!

◆Minatoya Food Main Store
Whenever I come near Ameyoko in Ueno and feel a little hungry, I always snack on takoyaki here. I must have come here over 20 times, but this is my first time posting on Tabelog. Located right in front of Marishiten and Tokudaiji, I arrived around 1:30 pm on a weekday with about 10 people in line, mostly Asian tourists. The turnover rate is quick, so you can place your order right away. It seems to be very popular among tourists due to its reasonable prices. I entered at 1 pm on a weekday with 12 customers already inside.
◆Takoyaki: 8 pieces for 400 yen including tax
Topped with sauce, mayonnaise, and bonito flakes, these takoyaki are delicious. As it is a takoyaki shop run by a seafood merchant, the octopus inside is substantial. The outside is crispy while the inside is fluffy, making it a well-prepared dish. You can also choose between 4 or 6 pieces, which allows for easy sharing and explains its popularity. I will definitely come back when I'm in the area. Thank you for the meal! (´∀`)

I purchased 4 takoyaki for ¥200 and added sauce, mayonnaise, bonito flakes, and seaweed at the self-service condiment area. I also ordered 2 special seafood bowls for ¥750 each, along with 2 miso soups for ¥100 each. The takoyaki was delicious with a crispy exterior and a soft, hot center. The special seafood bowls were filled with tuna, salmon, negitoro, squid, and salmon roe, all fresh and tasty. The hot miso soup was also satisfying with a generous amount. Even though I have tried popular seafood bowls in Hakodate and Tokyo, this place was also delicious. The cost performance is great, and they also serve takoyaki! After this meal, I headed to the National Museum as planned. And on my way back, I couldn't resist stopping by Minatoya again. It's a shame there are no similar restaurants nearby. This was my second takoyaki of the day, but it was so delicious and satisfying.

I didn't have much time, so I quickly had a seafood bowl at Minatoya. About 80% of the seating is on the terrace, so it's not a place for lingering. There was a long line at the takoyaki shop in the same space. Minatoya was relatively empty. The salmon bowl was only 500 yen. It's really surprising to get a seafood bowl for just one coin. The rice was just regular white rice. Minatoya used to have another store a bit further north from this main one. It's a fast seafood bowl place in Ameyoko. I will use it again when I'm short on time.
